    Great to see this boat finally coming together. And no disrespect, but I'm glad you elected to have a professional team put it together for you. Looks like they're doing an excellent job. La Vagabonde just had their new Rapido Trimaran built there in Vietnam. Had a massive amount of bureaucratic BS to wade through to get it out of Vietnam once it was finished, though. Hope you don't run into too much trouble in this regard. Looking forward to seeing this beautiful boat come together. Congrats, Plucky!!

    It's impressive how they are building it right side up. I've never seen it done that way before besides wooden boats. I really like that extra support on the bottom but I bet that adds quite a bit of weight. That extra support will for sure protect your boat if you were to hit something with the dagger boards or if the hull takes a strike. That's a nice option!

    Actually , Alu increases it"s strength through ageing.
    I am working in automotive engineering , I am impressed by the way they control tolerancting.
    In automotive , they sacrifice the tolerance on the passenger side to make the fit and finish on the driver side look good.
    Here they rectify the problem by compensating the center , eliminating deviation.

    Very exciting Plukky. Funny to see you in a hard hat! Vietnam built La Vagabond's trimaran so it seems they have become excellent boat builders. You have survived many things and have risen from the ashes. It will be an amazing day when you set sail again.

    • @realfamilyman
      @realfamilyman Před 8 měsíci +1

      They do? Yuck. Don't understand the attraction of monohulls with wings. Ok, it rides flat. But it's still the same 2-3 suffocating layouts monohulls have... V berth double bed at front that is never comfortable, lounge area in middle, then kitchen, with people either sleeping on the two sides on the lounges or in two "coffin" berths in the sides at the rear. If you're going to build new, if you're going to have something that's going to cost more than a monohull every time you dock, then build a dual hull catamaran with a floor connecting everything together, that has more space, everything accessible from inside instead of climbing "outriggers" to dig through looking for things (if they have any storage out there at all).

    • @realfamilyman
      @realfamilyman Před 8 měsíci

      @@teeanahera8949 I think you need to slow down and read what people are talking about before launching into replies. No catamaran ever built has a V berth. Because catamarans don't have the main monohull up the middle like trimarans do... which is what ronm3380 mentioned La Vagabond's new boat is, and which is what I was relying to. ;-D

As most have cunning ways of cutting corners. After seeing , the weld preps and weld sequencing and quality of the laser cutting and methodologies this company uses, I am totally assured, they are doing everything the correct ways 100%. • @JagLite
    @JagLite Před 8 měsíci +1

    Magnificent! I'm going to throw out a guess of 8 months to complete the shell with all those guys working on it 6 days a week. They get more done in one day than you (or anyone else) could do in a week. Manpower! If a build takes a shop 10,000 man hours to build something that they know how to do and have all the tools, it would take the average builder at least three times as many hours working mostly alone. Spending time getting set up and cleaning after, going out to get supplies, getting occasional help when more hands are required...
    Yet many inexperienced boat builders think they can do it in less time than the professionals. Dreamers who usually sell the project after a number of years of work and they are burned out and beginning to see how many more years it will take.

    Glad to see you finally getting started. Not seen anything like the size of that yard. I find it amazing how Vietnam has developed since I was there setting up a business in the early 1990ies. They are a people that t really want to get things done.

      Check out the yard that Seawind are using in Ruby Rose's videos, they had something like 10 Seawind 1370's in a row in a single isle of the facility.

    3:57 hey that's the same circle that shows up over fish that are about to be speared.
    Nice video, excited for the progress!

    Wind turbines on massive scale is all a scam, i build them. I also go into the field and do repairs. If your country is all in on "green" energy get ready in the future to "load shed" often. Plucky, the boat will be a beauty.
