The modified jack is being used improperly near the end of this video. It should be turned 90 degrees, so the acme screw is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, just as if one were cranking it by hand. The distortion of the jack frame is clearly visible and continued use in this manner may result in sudden, catastrophic failure.

This will work well on my barbeque. With an up and down button, no need to remove the grid with meat on and set higher or lower... Just push up or down... And set it the level you want it from the charcoal
OMG> YOu're the only one i've seen who addresses the biggest issues with the jacks.. THE BASE! These jacks are great if you are changing a tyre in a flat level driveway, but most people would not be in that situation. If you have to change a tyre its usually on the side of the road and where is a slant towards the edge of the road NO SCISSOR jack will handle that and they are not forgiving. But the wide base HAS to make a huge difference in stability.

What is the total weight that this electric crane can lift? Or by the shaft, can you lift the car from the front side where the engine is heavy

That's good, but is it able to lift a 1t or 2t load. Usually car jacks like this rated for such max load. 1 wheel is about 1/4 car's weight which is only ~250kg.
You drive a go kart if 1/4 of car weight is 250kg.

Since a regular vehicle has weight about 1000 kg and car jack rated to 1t than it is logical they can work with each other. I wrote ~ before 250 kg which means near this weight. I drive a Chevrolet Lacetti 1.6 16v SX (a sedan Class C, not a hatchback or go kart...) which is 1245 kg and 1/4 of it's weight is 300 kg. That is not far away from mentioned above 250 kg. It is also means that you an idiot.

how did you get it to go back down? just plug it in flipped? would there be a way of making a switch to do this instead? how about a wall plugin conversion? I'm assuming that would require a 12v converter.

Yes. However, if the car is lowered quickly using a jack, the car's fuse may be damaged. My electric car lift is still working great. Sincerely.

Would be more efficient for me to simply weld a bolt and use my 1/4 milwaukee impact wrench..
If you do so, you will surely damage your jack after a few lifts.
Just know that the jack threads can't take this but a handful of times before they will fail and seize up, I made a similar setup to use a cordless drill raise and lower the jack and.......well, lesson learned.

I just completed a maintenance operation on a Honda sedan that required lifting each side of the vehicle in stages with the help of cribbing until the front wheels were about 25 cm off the pavement. By the time I was lowering the vehicle, the acme threads in the manufacturer-supplied jack were beginning to seize. I then spent half an hour cleaning and greasing the threads and the thrust bearing. The project shown here might have been an interesting learning exercise, but the result isn't worth the effort, because the jack won't last long.

Surley its the quality of the jack thats at fault,the heavy duty car lifts that use the cantilever style can be power lifted.
Why would the jack screw fail? What difference should it make to jack screw whether the hand crank is being used or something else is turning the screw?
Cheap chinese jack screws are made from relatively weak mild steel,and cant withstand the furious pounding of an impact wrench.
