    Great review. I have a 2015 model with panniers. I love it. You are 100% right about the seat. But, it's easily the best bike I've ever owned.

    Gonna attempt to look at one this week. Great price, showroom condition, low miles, bone stock. I don't generally buy used intending on considerable mods, but a tune, lighter louder exhaust, LED's panniers, the list really does go on...
    I'm in love with what I THINK this bike COULD BE. My heart is with my stock 05 GSXR, that's where I'm at, but you can't ride it all day long. Maybe I'm wrong and this bike just isn't made for someone looking for an SS modified to ride all day long. Maybe the test ride will let me know either way.
    Great review thank you !!!

    Thank you. I actually bought this after watching this review. I’ve done 500miles on it now and love it. I have similar observations. The suspension for me is fine after I had a fork service and played with the settings. It’s now plush enough to soak up all those bumps, yet stiff enough to have a bit of fun as well. I’m 6.2 and bought a National Cycle VStream screen which is amazing compared to the stock one. The bike, despite its age, has no signs of rust. It’s only done 25K but still. The build quality of this bike is excellent considering its price point.
    I do find myself looking for that 7th gear as well. I wonder if you have ever changed the sprocket to see if it made a difference and how it affected riding overall. I’m riding a lot in London traffic, and for that the current gearing is great. I’m mostly in third gear and just leave it there, riding it lazy. I might not make that change.
    Cheers and safe riding.

    Hi Sussex Biker, nice review. As per the above comment, I have also looked at the Ninja 1000 and SX to own in addition to my Triumph Daytona 675.
    Also, great reviews/servicing on your old Triumph, really helped me out with my own servicing.
    Question: do you follow any particular ride out calendar? Or just word of mouth with other bikers? Looking for cafes, shows and regular ride outs to go on. I’m new to Sussex..

    • @TheSussexBiker
      @TheSussexBiker  Před 5 lety +1

      Glad you like the videos and thanks for watching. I don't follow any particular calendar as such. If you search on Facebook you will find quite a few different groups have at look at Bury Hill Bikers people post ride outs on there from time to time. If you are new to the area check out Bury Hill Hill/Whiteways / Loomies / Boxhill as they are known biker haunts.

It was my honest opinion maybe yours is not set up correctly compared to both my street triples and the vfr I had it was a lot smoother in throttle pickup and also my 16 plate sx was smooth - don't know about the 17 on bikes I haven't ridden one.

    • @TheSussexBiker
      @TheSussexBiker  Před 5 lety

      Yes definitely, It's the third generation of the bike so naturally will be improved :) you have ktrc and kcmf and a bosch imu,also you have a better dash unit with a gear postion indicator and led headlights. It is said that the rear suspension has been lowered which makes the steering not as sharp, however I haven't ridden one yet so can't comment on that.

      @@Persia3 They are all good bikes, you need to ride all three and see which one you like the best. I personally would go for either the Kawasaki or Yamaha for me personally the BWM would be a worry with maintenance costs, but check out forums for all three bikes so you can get a feel for the pluses and negatives on all three. Good luck choosing.

      Copied and pasted from bottom of this link
      Updates:
      The Z1000SX was tweaked in 2014 when 3-stage traction control arrived (KTRC) alongside two power modes and upgraded brakes. It was updated again in 2016 when it gained an assist and slipper clutch, with a 30% lighter lever action, ABS as standard and new colour options. It was further updated in 2017 when it received more advanced rider aids that included an IMU, allowing it to feature angle-sensitive traction control and ABS for the first time. The shock linkage was also updated to lower the bike and add stability to its handling and its styling was changed with LED lights. In response to owner’s comments, the seat’s padding was increased, pillion grab rails redesigned, clocks updated and the screen made 15mm taller while the bodywork grew 28mm wider to improve wind protection. The mirrors’ stalks were also extended by 20mm.
