It gave me chills when lutzenkirchen caught that touchdown because he went to my high school. He died in a car crash years ago. I heard he was the nicest person and did amazing things for people. We named our stadium after him.
Lutzie was a class act. I was with a group of disabled kids from Camp ASCCA at a Spring, get to know the players event in Auburn. I was carrying a 8 year old boy with Downs Syndrome. I was having a problem getting a player to acknowledge my boy. Lutzie saw the situation, walked over and spent a full 5 minutes with us. He signed the t-shirt he was wearing...made the boy's day is an understatement. Sad thing is they both died about 30 days apart. I miss both of 'em.

He died in my home town in georgia while i was living in auburn. Its kind of weird when a person like him dies in a “car accident” . I feel like it was a sacrifice . That Title was not free & also a lot of things were mysteriously falling into place that year for Auburn. Anyways, why do everyone know you once you are dead but never around when you are alive?

Oregon got off easy.... imagine 2010 Oregon having to play Boise State again. That would’ve been a nightmare for you. 26-8 the last time and you didn’t even get first down til the 4th quarter. It would’ve been 60-0.

@@jaylonbrooks4992 First of all, yes Boise State should have beaten Nevada - they choked that game. They led by 21 in that game and missed 3 FGs. However that season was best in Nevada history primarily due to their offense (actually racked up more yards than Oregon that year) led by one Collin Kapernick.
(In fact Nevada destroyed a similar opponent as Oregon. Oregon barely beat Cal by 2 in 2010, meanwhile Cal lost by 21 to Nevada).
Second of all, Boise State completely outclassed that Oregon team not once but twice in back to back years and only got better from 2008 to 2010. With 34 freshmen Boise State went into Eugene and led a #8 Oregon 31-13 in the 4th quarter - destroyed them in their house. Oregon tried to respond the next year in Boise and instead for completely shutdown on both sides of the ball. 26-8 doesn’t even do it justice, considering Boise State had two TDs called back on penalties and as stated before didn’t allow Oregon a single first down til the 4th quarter.
What you think Oregon the next year is beating the #2 defense in the country - the same team that got the #2 rank while playing 3 teams with Top 10 offenses (all over 7,000 yards in a season, and held a score differential of 124-41 against them). And that’s just Defense.
On top of which Oregon, has to shutdown Boise States offense (which had 120 total yards less than Oregon the entire year), ranked just behind Oregon for #2 in the country. You’re having to stop 3 NFL WRs, 1 NFL RB, 1 NFL TE, and get through 6 NFL OLine men who in 2010 allowed a grand total of 3 sacks. Oh and then there’s also Kellen Moore, who while didn’t win the heisman had better comp %, more passing yards (1,000 more), more passing TDs (9 more), less interceptions (4 less), and better QB efficiency then Cam Newton and still ranks in the Top 5 All Time in each of these categories for college QBs.
So good luck with that, Oregon’s never beaten Boise State and none of their games have really been close.

Epp 808 burrow had one of the best individual SEASONS as a college qb, he is in no way shape or form a top 2 college qb career wise as he couldn’t even win the starting job for 2 years at OSU and was okay his junior season, not great lol. I remember the era of Auburn where they were so good, and even when they had lost a few looked like they could beat any team out there. I saw it many times as a kid whether it be the BCS National Championship against Oregon, or the Davis returned field goal to end the game against Alabama, Auburn has truly been an exciting team throughout the years.

I was actually there for that game Upper Middle deck right above the middle of the field. I knew Auburn would fix their mistakes and make a comeback! I will never forget how mean and angry these alabama fans were towards Cam. The Camback was something I was glad I was able to experience in person and will never forget for the rest of my life. That Alabama defense grew up tremendously the next season. Even In The bowl game they had a dominating performance and everyone knew they were gonna be a force. Probably the best defense I’ve seen watching the game.
Yeah and we had the toughest schedule that season. Just about everyone we played had a bye week before playing us. Coincidence? I doubt it, something was definitely fishy about that.

First of all, I miss Verne Lundquist. Not that it matters now since CBS will be broadcasting Big 10 games. But also, everyone of the highlight videos that I've watched of this game leave out what might have been the play of the game. This game was obviously several years ago so I can't remember the exact details, but at some point when Alabama still had the shutout going I think it was Mark Ingram that looked like he was gonna score another TD, but an Auburn defender punched the ball out of Ingram's hands through the back of the end zone for a touchback/turnover.
