James O'Brien analyses the 'worst Tory election campaign of our lifetimes' | LBC

  • James O'Brien wonders how the Tories' 'extraordinarily bad' campaign has managed to become the 'worst of this generation'.
'14 years of getting everything they wanted and look where they are today', says James O'Brien, concluding the campaign 'has been reduced to a shower of charlatans and incompetence'.
This comes as one senior Tory party figure said it had been the 'worst campaign of his lifetime', criticising the decision to call the General Election early.
James O'Brien also reacts to the Tory's decision to criticise Keir Starmer for claiming he would aim to finish by 6pm on Fridays, should he be PM.
'You get a sense of just how broken the Tory establishment really is.'
'Imagine the headlines if a left-wing politician attacked a Jewish family for observing Friday night dinner,' James O'Brien points out, suggesting the Tories' reaction would differ if roles were reversed.

So, Starmer tries to have one definitive family dinner and evening with his family at least once a week, preferably Friday as a religious obligation. How horrible.

I respect Starmer for putting his family and their religion first. It’s important and says a lot about him.

It’s the very best election campaign in my lifetime. I’m eternally grateful to the tories for being so absolutely risible and showing everyone how bent and corrupt and inept they are. Hats off to sunak for presiding over this mess
