Anyone who compares the LX to german rivals does not understand cars and is often driven by emotions. First, the majority of these SUVs are sandy off-road like Dubai. 2nd - The reason you cannot compare is the fact that European vehicles are build around the philosophy of " Planned obsolescence whilst many Asian, and Toyota/Lexus in particular are built around the philosophy of " Value engineering. with the latter being constantly ever-lasting vehicles(Build like tanks). I have a business friend who drives 2019 G-wagon, and its parks more at the dealership in Pretoria than in his garage whilst I have a 2011 RX450h that to date, I am still waiting to change a light bulb. After all, you vid was straight, factual & clean, thanks

David I saw this review when it came out, and waited to comment. I have an LX 570, love it! I saw a series on Toyota Times regarding the engineering improvements for the 300 series (includes LX 600]. The design philosophy is to withstand harsh conditions, and return safe and sound. That is the truest luxury! I ordered the LX 600, and will keep the 570. Well stated, accurate, and timeless in your comments.

A year later now, the New Land Cruiser is announced in the USA and it will be a Prado. The interesting point is Toyota recommends the 4cylinder hybrid as the “durable” option over the twin turbo V6 of the GX550. Regarding this vehicle the LX, I'm willing to agree that it may be the best vehicle made in the world but any SUV (especially one that starts at $80,000) in which the third row is useless except for toddlers is useless to most Americans that's why Escalades, Yukons, & Suburbans are so popular. They are roomier and they're actually built quite well.

Having owned a 2018 Escalade I agree with MT. I sold mine at 26000 miles, which is baby miles, because of lousy performance and dealer support. I do agree about about the size in terms of space. Having owned 2 Yukon Denali trucks then the Escalade my GX 460 is small, basically a 4 person vehicle. However, this GX 460 ( night line edition ) has superior fit and finish than the Escalade. Also look around and try to find these vehicles, they are hard to get. Instead there are so many Escalades available for sale that that should raise a huge RED flag up. I wish the electronics on the LX were a little more upscale. David didn’t mention it but it looks like it does not have a digital rear view mirror and if it doesn’t that’s inexcusable. I believe it’s standard on the NX? Correct me if I’m wrong. The interior is ranked below the LC and LS. No panoramic roof. No massage seats and the displays are the smallest compared to other luxury brand models in the same price range. The total length is short compared to something like the Sequoia or Wagoneer. And the engine. Are you kidding me? No hybrid! This vehicle is garbage because the mindset design and engineering was for the sole purpose of the UAE market. Not the US, Canada, or other parts of the world. For the money, forget the LX and get the Sequoia because it tops and or equals the refinements compared to the LX.

$135k for that? Crazy. It appears the previous LX570 and previous Land Cruiser blow this piece of grift away. Saw a LandCruiser last model year the other day. It was far and away better looking then this. Toyota is losing their shine. Until Toyota gets their act together Im leaving the Toyota family. One additional thought, captains chairs instead of a bench in the second row for s family hauler is dumb.

    3 reasons why its not:
    1. It definitely doesn't look the best
    2. Still needs more power to compete with the best of breed.
    3. Doug DeMuro said, after driving it, it doesn't feel much newer than the old LX. Refried beans!

I think the Lx600 is overpriced. An executive package would cost north of $150k cad + tax
There are definitely better vehicle than LX in this price range

@@johnmeeboer8971 for starter, based on comparison test by CarandDriver with Escalade, grand Waggoner and Navigator. The website ranked LX 4 of 4 based on the overall test.
Also based on JD power most recent 2022 initial vehicle quality study, Lexus has been ranked #6 and behind some of its US rivals.
The only test that LX shines is Off Roading capability in this segment, which I don’t think many would do that to this $150k vehicle

@@BunderaKZT Nice vehicle! I have an '07 FJ Cruiser with 165,000 KM's. The engine hasn't even been broken in it yet! JD Power lol. J.D. Power makes money by selling its research findings and licensing fees. If a company wants to feature J.D. Power in an advertisement (like those car commercials you might see), the company has to pay a licensing fee for it. hhhhmmm
