What gets me is that some of those tanks have nothing in them. No mud, no vegetation. Nothing that mimics the natural habitat of the fish. They're just forced to swim or float around in a tiny glass box. At least a lot of the aquariums here in the U.S. have the decency to try and recreate the conditions the fish live in.

      It's fish who cares

    • @loliver9660
      @loliver9660 Před 3 měsíci

@hen069 The minute we start to think that way, our entire ecosystem will disappear. We took over a lot of space on land and polluted the water with our waste. We have a responsibility to this planet to protect the plants and animals that sustain our existence. It doesn't matter if it's just a fish and it doesn't have the same sense if awareness as us. It's the principle of it. It's deliberately inhumane. If you can't recreate the fish's natural habitat and way of life, don't bother opening an aquarium. Let them stay in the wild where they belong.

Shut your mouth you act like he can directly fix the entire place himself. He realizes the fish aren’t in good conditions he mentioned multiple times in the full video if you even cared enough to watch it first before commented.

@@Largemouth_Bass_2.0nobody ever said it was? But obviouslt the acquarium is getting money from visitors. Im sure they could AT LEAST afford to get some rocks and bare minimum plants for the tanks, nevermind bigger tanks. A lot of aquarium decorations you can even make/source yourself, it doesn't have to be pricey.

The more I visit zoos and aquariums nowadays, the more "against them" I've become.
Like, look at how small that tank is for the black tip. These are active, schooling sharks that undergo daily migrations both horizontally and vertically in the water column, as well as seasonal migrations. They travel miles and miles each day.
Meanwhile, all this poor shark appears to be able to do is swim 30 ft in one direction(while dodging obstacles), and then turn around and go back.
The worst for me though are the cetaceans and primates.

    Some major problems
*Nothing for the fish to hide in/behind
*No substrate for some of the fish
*Dinky little tanks that don't meet the standard "1 gallon of water per 1inch of fish" rule
*The poor eel in a blue concrete kiddie pool
*Blue tang are know for being nearly impossible to breed in captivity, so the one shown is most certainly wild caught
    And last but not least
    *You banged on the glass

Small tanks, too many fishes, water dirty as hell in some. And that dark color on Dory is probably bc of water conditions and is really uncomfortable.
Fix all that and the color will get more bright and alive.

Yup. I agree. I posted this comment on here but wanting to share it more in responses.
Accirding to google, blue tang fish can turn black because of:
      - stress
      - black spot or tang disease
      - poor water quality
      So either way its sad
