This was filmed in 2002. He is currently 52 yrs old. IMHO the best tenor in gospel music and possibly in all genres.
I have seen him live 11 times now and have seen him do this song multiple times. He is the best male vocalist in the world and it’s not even close.

Great reaction! I love this one of David Phelps. Excited for the End of the Beginning also... definitely up next for David songs - We Shall Behold Him, He's Alive, Heaven's Shore, Gentle Savior... so many more great ones to experience. His longevity is a testament to his dedication to his craft. There was a time when he was younger & with the Gaither Vocal Band where he was constantly having to be on vocal rest and was wearing out his voice. The doctor told him that he had 1 to 3 years left singing the way he was, so he changed his technique and was more conscientious of not pushing his voice to hard. And now he's blasting D5s in his 50s. Just incredible.

Just found your channel. I absolutely love David Phelps. Thanks you great review! I see that you reacted to pentatonix . You haven’t heard anything until you have listened to/watched Home Free. Based on this video, you should react to their How Great Thou Art video. They run the gamut of what they sing…..country, gospel, R&B, oldies, they do covers and have amazing original music also. Their rabbit hole is very deep and the deeper you go, the more you want to see & hear.
