The man has been doing this for years, my all time favorite singer. I cannot believe that he's just now getting some recognition of which he is so well deserved..
Same here. It's really refreshing. I am so happy I've got to meet him 7 times. His voice is out of this world, and he is such a humble man.
I love how he truly wants, with all his heart and talents, to glorify God.

Not to be the one to pick on what is a good sentiment, but one should do well to remember that David gave himself this talent through hard practice and dedication to his craft, which is incredibly well done. No one accomplishes this without putting a lot of work in. That being said, God surely has a huge influence on his life and emotions, and therefore his singing and probably understanding singing in a more personal way.
@@hastobe303 Disagree, friend. David didn't "give himself this talent". That would be wonderful if we were all able to do that. Talent is God-given. David nurtured it with years of hard work and dedication, but nobody is able to chose the talents they are born with.
No matter what genre you like, David Phelps is the best male vocalist. I seriously believe his voice is god given. I also love the Gaithers and it’s not particularly my taste, but it’s just amazing hearing them

I went his concert at least four times and it gets me goosebumps every time.
There is an homeless man who was hearing David Phelps’s song from my car and immediately cried and told me he wanted to repent . The song he heard from ,” I’ve just seen Jesus “
He asked me to give him a Bible and I bought next day .
He passed away a month and half later but I heard from other homeless people that Anthony was reading the Bible everyday even under the street light at night . I just compelling to share with you . I pray for David Phelps every time I listen to his songs that God use him for this generation.

That gentleman you saw watching David sing was Donnie Sumner that was the lead singer for the Stamps quartet who backed up Elvis Presley.

I LOVE his voice. David Phelp's O Holy Night is a staple in our house at Christmas. His voice is more breathtaking when you listen to him sing a song through. Like, this high note compilation is super impressive but the notes actually give chills when you hear the whole songs.
I've seen him in concert, and I just get chills....even hearing recordings...every time!!!

Thank you, Adam for helping us "ohans" spread the word about David's amazing talent--for a long time we called him the "best kept secret" in the music industry, but in recent years he's finally starting to get that recognition which he so richly deserves as Spencer Flores stated below. IF you or anyone else have not heard his performance of "Just As I Am" from his first solo DVD, make I share it now? This is my personal favorite slide of all time...one when people go from "Wow!" to "WHOA!!!" I also love it because I played trumpet all the way through college and adore the sound of brass, and David's tone, especially at the top of this slide, displays that brilliance, that shininess quality in a human voice, at least to me. David's vocals were dominate in the GVB when he was a member. You couldn't help but hear him! LOL. He's a powerhouse!
For real. I think West Hampton is one of the most underrated singers ever in the GVB because he was a tenor at the same time as David Phelps
The reason why he sings vibrato at the end of a note and a straight note at the beginning is because it takes more air to sing with vibrato so to hold the note longer he starts to sing straight and ends up with vibrato if you notice that is part of his technique.

Hey Adam, the guy you were talking about who is looking on David Phelps with Envy , was the baritone singer who sang behind Elvis throughout the 1970's with the Stamps quartet.. His name is Donnie Sumner...Buck Buckles who was the tenor singer for Elvis is David Phelps Uncle.. Some of the gifts are from God above, and some are in the very genes themselves.. That said, I'm a singer, and although with proper training and the right vocal coach we can always improve and get better, but I can't hold a candle to any of these greats! Then again, not many can.. Thanks for sharing this..

You listen to singers and talk about their technique. One can understand a singer may not think like they do and still realize they are talented. You can't deny he can sing. You didn't say you agreed with who he sings for
You should listen to Jinjer - Picies. The singer is very unique.
For high notes you should listen to Queensryche - Queen of the Riche for male singer and Nightwish - The Greatest Show on Earth live - at Estadio Luna Park female.

I surprised no one has done an Adam Lopez reaction video. He is the master of the whistle note. There is a video that
shows his vocal range from a B1 to a E8. For many years he held the Guniess book of world records for the highest vocal note by a male. Just search Adam Lopez vocal range.
seeing it this way is almost anxiety causing I agree. because when people sing I sing with them. so we know what it takes to produce a note like that . and I tend not to breathe if singers do not..
Just a fun FYI....'that guy' behind David trying to figure out how he can hit that note is Donnie Sumner. Donnie used to sing with Elvis. I just think its cool that these guys who look like kindly older gentlemen hung around The King of Rock and Roll.
