    I started calling it an Irish goodbye like 5 years before I realized it was actually a thing. At least I got like 5 years where I thought I was the shit for coming up with that 😂😂

    I am a master of the Irish goodbye. Brought it up at a family gathering and found out that it is a tradition among my relatives. We'd miss our own funerals if we could get away with it! 🇺🇸🇮🇪

    i guess all of us Poles that grasped English, some that didn’t also..
    and who got cozy and familiar
    with the abstractly honest sense of humour of yours in the UK,
    made that jump so..

    Hello everyone. Could you help the person who beyond cultural context. Are those melodies performed with the whistle improvisation or they are some kind of popular songs (melodies) for Ireland? Thank you.

    • @beckyfay6226
      @beckyfay6226 Před rokem +3

      There are elements of traditional Irish folk song in the melody and harmonies. Rosie (Joan) is playing the bodhran, a traditional Irish drum and Nicola (Flo) is playing a traditional folk “penny whistle”. At about 1:50, Nicola plays part of “Oh Danny Boy”, a famous Irish song.

      An Irish Goodbye is a slang term for sneaking out of a party or gathering without saying goodbye to avoid any emotional situations. So they’re ducking out of every event because Steve is there and they don’t want to talk to him
