You can polish them up real nice by starting with a low grit (like 600 grit) sandpaper and gradually working your way up to a 12000 grit or use polishing papers. That's what they use for resin dice.
Peter Brown does a lot of turned resin projects and he does that too when it's polishing time!
Thank you!!!! guess I'll have to next time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@Shmoxd they still look amazing! (So far, haven't seen the finished product yet ;P)
You could also use polishing and sanding tips on a Dremel tool to get the job done fast. I'm pretty sure you can get super fine grit tips, if not, I've seen video tutorials about making your own tips using old tips (basically glue the 1200 grit sandpaper on a tip with the coarse grip peeled off). Nonetheless, these look awesome and now I want to make some!
That's super super tedious it's easier to put some more resin on!
My boi schmoxd finally got a respirator but still won't use gloves lol
progress bay bay 🤍
Your willingness to always try out new things is truly inspirational
Super props for posting all parts on the same day and not dragging them out for three weeks!!
I was about to post number 3.. but going to hold of till the end of the month.. cause electric was so stoked on them they wanted to do a release at the same time..
Calling the arms of glasses ‘the legs’ has to be the most renegade thing I’ve seen all day
hahaha I was having a harrrrd time...
Ohhh, you call them arms in English? I didn't notice that it was wrong to call them legs coz I'm Dutch and in dutch you call them "poten" wich is also the word for the legs of animals
Ohh in Spanish we call them patas, like animal or furniture legs. Didn’t even notice it wasn’t right in English
in portuguese we call them "pernas" which means legs also, i guess only in english its called arms lol
aren’t they called temples? :D
I was bummed this was a two parter and I'd have to wait, but I wasn't aware that wait would be like ten minutes for me! great timing. I made a comment on the other ones, but acetate become more malleable when it's heated. hot water or a hair drier works great. This is how optometrists out in your lenses without cracking the frame.
Edit: PART 3?! NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
oh.. and pt 3 is done. hah so should be posting is pretty soon too
phssyyyycycyyc... electric was so stoked on the glasses they wanted me to hold off till they could get some product pictures and do lil shoutout for me!:)
@@Shmoxd NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
@@Shmoxd I’m waiting on part 3 like 🥺😭🤣
@@skydweller8390 yeah not sure how I feel about this style of releasing things. When I think about it it gives me a negative feeling but it’s like do I care this much about what I already know they’ll probably look like since companies have done this before in the past?
I actually had to do something similar for a uni project. I think it would be easier if you did what they had us do, which was create the silicon mold in 2 parts.
You fill you container half up with resin add in the object and keep it suspended with skewers (you want the skewers to be half in the resin because you use these channels to inject it in later).
Add in 2 small things with straight sides (these will be used to help you line the mold up and clip it into place later)
Let it cure, take out small objects and pour the rest of the mold.
Once that's cured you should be able to pull it apart! and you'll have 2 registration points (where the objects were) that line it up perfectly.
Then you can pour resin in one side line up the flowers perfectly, add the other half of the mold on top and inject resin to fill it up.
(It wouldn't work for UV resin but works great for the normal sort)
Just finished part one perfect timing
Same hahah
Same too😊
I can't wait for this to become a thing. Imagine all the cool things you could put in clear glasses!
I like the way you deal with frustration when things don't work at first, the way you just try again and again. Probably you get mad outside camera right hahah but real inspiring seeing your process, for including things that gone wrong and showing that too
Him reapplying tht text/ brand was very impressive. 👌🏼. Very clean.
I was about to comment on Part 1 saying the suspense to see how it would turn out is killing me but literally 5mins after watching that video, Part 2 is up hahah
There's still no reveal. Unreal.
@@michelesaint1662 thissss fackin project was unreal.. haha took me all month. so I had to make multiple videos out of it or I would have lost my mind.
I hope part 3 is out when I wake up, it is 2 am and it’d be such a lovely thing to eat breakfast to!!
soooo clooooose Tim!
Man, I've been watching you for years. I hope you've reached a point we're hoining your craft fulltime.
I like the multiple parters. I can watch them broken up throughout the day.
Soooo all I have to do is order a bunch of glasses from Aliexpress and be able to make my own "designer" frames 🤔? Yes? Yes 🤘🏾👍🏾!
To get a nice shiny, smooth finish, use 'no cleanse' nail uv gel topcoat. It self levels, cures quickly and doesn't require sanding or buffing💋 These glasses are awesome, great idea♥️
does it ever get gunky
I heard that you should never use nail polish to preserve craft especially craft used on the body, because the nail polish breaks down n turns yellowy after a while.
@@wanfarahwanzainuddin7850 that can happen with regular polish, I'm talking about uv gel which is very similar to what he used to make the glasses
@@MrExplorerFilms not if you use a gel top coat. It has a thin consistency.
ah cool! i love how you chose glasses you really liked and made the mold yourself. i know a bunch of people probably ride you for what you did wrong and all that but i think its really cool to see the way you figured it out yourself and youre really clever. something that might help shine them up is headlight polisher! you can get it at any hardware store and its really great for bringing shine back to plastics. cant wait to see the reveal!
These glasses are so awesome!! I wish manufacturers could reproduce them I’d have some for sure
I'm pretty sure @Shmoxd could make you some, ask away :)
I love all these videos so so much. You've made me less nervous to try different crafts that I've wanted to try for a while. Thank you, my dude!
Your voice is so calming 💜 I always feel so chill watching your videos
I can't wait to see how they turned out. This is just awesome.
I love how positive he is ,every little "good job!"
They are looking so cute already i can't wait for part 3
Spring glasses! Love it!
I really like the sanded look to the resin with the flowers.
Can’t wait for part 3 !!! 😎 these are looking so good!!
you're voice in this video was so soothing , felt like i was watching a bob ross episode 😌
I want these glasses now😁 I have a similar pair in black but the 🌼💐🌸💐 is more my style
Omg I was watching this video play out on the feed to decide if I wanted to watch and the creative intro got me to click! How to -make stuff 🌈- then bam you're a cartoon! I'm.feeling.it. plus my hobby is making things with dried flowers from my garden so that's probably why I got recommended. 🤤❤️🌼🌻🏵️🌸🌺☀️
Voice seemed to be a bit sad. Hope that everything is okay.
Your channel is amazing and you are such a great motion designer as well! Congrats!
I like how he calls the ear piece as legs. The glasses are beautiful. Peace Love and Harmony.
You inspire me, I’m so grateful 💖
So mad about having to wait for pt 3 lmao
LOVE how this is looking! 😍👌
They are awesome!
Oh perfect! I just finished part one!
These look amazing! I think it would be easier to use the clay silicone because then you could do the glue method for the pieces, but use mold release in between the two sides of silicone, or maybe not even need the second half of silicone if you used a curved piece of plastic as your flat front for the lens piece to get the depth.
Omg! That’s a great idea! Looks 👍 good
Wow! This is the best intro I have ever seen. That was amazing
This is amazing I definitely am trying !
Holy hell these are looking fantastic!! 👌
They look so good !!!!!!!!!!!
You can put a cover(container) over your resin pieces with a small container of acetone inside with them to get a nice sheen and smooth out any roughness. This process is used a lot with 3D printing to make better finished pieces
I know it takes way more lol, but for my business I gotta paint a lot of aluminum buttons, and what I do when I don't have enough synthetic paint, it's just use acrylic paint and then use a synthetic wood sealant varnish kind of thing? And it's works wonders!
I have a mate one and a shiny one! I think you could use the shiny one over the resin you have to sand! I tried it a couple of times and it works pretty well and it isn't as expensive lol! Also it self levels better than resin when you paint it over!
how are you so creative, these are beautiful 🥺 i have to try this i hope i dont ruin something
Beautiful work!!
Those are super cute
Happy about 2 vids in one day!! This is so fun!!! I’m wondering if I’d be able to do this….
This is so amazing !!!!
Adorei!!! Achei sensacional!!!
Just a little fyi for your diy. A Paper Bag is the best finishing sandpaper there is!! It will sand without scratching (or such light scratching you can't see it) I use it as my finishing on all my painted items.
😭 that was dope!!!
Here for the pull apart rug!!!!
monotonous is a word FYI
Monotonous, Adjective
mo·not·o·nous
1: uttered or sounded in one unvarying tone : marked by a sameness of pitch and intensity
2: tediously uniform or unvarying
example: While every distance swimmer grinds through thousands of *monotonous* yards each week, these sessions are somehow different for Ledecky.
Man you should have sooooooo many more followers, when i was talking to a friend that is also into art stuff, I mentioned your chanel, and he asked me what do you make, and i was like ........everything?
Sending you a warm HI! from Mexico man :).
So pretty. Never heard of arms called "legs" before.lol
Annabella,. Australia 🙃❤️
Part 2 in the same day - I fucking love you
Omg amazing
i wish i could see you wear them, as finished look!
This is the best intro I’ve ever seen.
Waiting for this part
When using UV resin you have to use a clear silicone because its cured by UV light which cant reach the resin through the opacity of the mold.
Badass!!!
You're the best!!!
🔥🔥🔥
sick bro
Monotonous is a word! 😅 these are so dope
I want those gasses :)
the plural noun versions of tedious and monotony are tediums and monotonies
So cute
So cool! 💜 and it should be faster, if you put something like playdoh in every spot where you don‘t want resin. Greetings from cologne Särah
Increíble!
Commenting in hopes of rug!! Fingers crossed 🤞
"Miniscule" is the word you're looking for.
could have done a layer of gel top coat nail polish as is self levening
When he say paint what is he using for the air bubbles
just watched the first part earlier!
These are beautiful!
Also, for editing Shmoxd, monotonous is totally a word. ☺️
Edit:added a comma. 😅
Make a resin flower dagger handle
cool
00:50 I stopped casually here and I was expecting..."the Simpsons" (^ ^*)
Anyway nice job! I love your videos!!!
2:45, meticulous? Very nice!!
Put it on 😁
Could you have used a dremel instead of a razor blade to clean up the glasses?
make a custom headstone!!
Where is part three I’m gonna cry
Pressure 👏 pot 👏
Idk if you've ever thought of this but .... a nail file drill? :0
What is the name of this material that you use to make glasses?
uv resin
But... how did you get the lenses in? Was your thumbnail just clickbait?
This feels like being left on read
fyi at 4:30 you were looking for "flush", maybe, maybe cubicle
Love ir nails babe
Did you mean monotonous? /Tedious? Plus you could have maybe used a dremel polisher if you have one or a friend does...
oh this is pt. 2 lol
but i'll watch 2-1 bc i know i won't even try this bc i'm :) allergic :) to many plastic-y materials :))))))))))):
I briefly considered being a SmoodyPie (it’s a cute name) but I’m an old man.
Age is a number, be one and proud (50yo) me.
