@7:03 The Domino throttle uses a potentiometer not a hall sensor, so it starts at almond 0v, while a hall sensor throttle starts at 0.8v. The dead band is cause by the Fardriver Thottle Low setting, which is 1.1v by default and normally set to 0.9v for hall sensor type and about 0.2-0.3v for potential type.
Also the default throttle high (4.3v) is for most hall sensor type, but will limit the range of a potentiometer throttle.
This can all be set for the rider’s preference but understand the reason deadband is bad is it reduces the resolution of the throttle, meaning how many 0.1 degrees you twist the throttle that sends a signal recognized by the controller.
For example, you can set the Fardriver throttle range from 2.0v to 3.0v, and 80% of your domino will be dead band band because you told the fardriver to ignore everything below 2.0v and above 3.0v.
This doesn’t mean you will have less power, only less control over that power because now 0-100% is all within 20% of the throttle twist range. Basically its like an ON/OFF switch. Lol
The thing that makes Domino nice and expensive is that its not a lotto machine spitting out random voltages depending on if you put weight on it. It’s precisely measuring degrees twist. Some cheap throttles will actually put out different voltages when you rest your hand on it because its sloppy construction.
If your throttle has as much dead band as you indicated here, it means your control band is too small making it harder to control. Ebike Kninevil had excellent throttle control, so no matter what throttle was on it he would still be able to wheelie it.
But just wanted to let you know the deadband is in the Fardriver settings, not the Domino. You can make that smaller or bigger.
High throttle is more tricky because that one also includes runaway throttle caused by some short that lets voltage leak into the throttle signal line, so with a potentiometer throttle it typically goes all the way up to supply voltage (around 5v). So if you want the signal from 4.3v to 5v to be in the control band, you would set the throttle high to 5v and give up that safety feature.
If the throttle setting goes 0.6v higher than the high throttle setting the controller stops the motor, thinking you have a runaway throttle signal. So for the Domino you have to make sure it can give full throttle without going 0.6v over this setting or the motor will die and you get throttle error icon on your display, unless you are watching Netflix on that new display. Lol

They have tunes in it but these tires are really thick
@@E-bikeguyI'd be checking and swapping out inner tubes quite often. Those speeds generate a lot of heat and the last thing you want is a blown tire at speed. For safety setup the next ride tubeless. Cheers man.

bought this ebike kit with no rotor on it , how do i make sure i buy the right rotor , its a 1000 watt voilamart ebike kit. ( my rotor i all ready have holes will not line up ) thanks for your information , i am one of your biggest fans. watch every single one of your videos.
