- With water guns in hand, we hit the streets of Old Town Chiang Mai to celebrate our first Songkran festival. It gets wild, and we did not leave disappointed (or dry! 😂).
The Thai New Year is one of Thailand's biggest and most highly-anticipated celebrations, so we booked our flights and arrived just in time to celebrate.

My friend and I from Southern California were at this very place but we rented an open top tuk tuk with a 55 gallon drum and iced cold water for our guns! It was the most fun I’ve had in years! Highly recommended. I’m so glad Mike and Ashley had fun and provided us with this video. Cheers 🎉❤

สงกรานต์มีเล่นน้ำอย่างน้อย 3 วัน ถ้าคิดเล่นทั้ง 3 วัน แนะนำ วันแรกเดินสำรวจหลายๆที่มีคนท้องถิ่นเล่นมีเด็กๆด้วยจะทำให้คุณสนุกเพราะเด็กจะเป็นคนหาเรื่องให้คุณโดนน้ำมากขึ้น😂😂😂😂และที่สำคัญ "น้ำ" เมื่อหมด คุณไม่ต้องเสียเวลาหาเติม😂😂😂😂..วันที่สองก็กลับไปจุดที่คุณหมายตา..คุณจะได้ใจคนในพื้นที่😂😂😂😂😂แต่อาจแลกด้วยค่าขนมสำหรับเด็กๆ.

It is a fantastic event the likes of which I have never seen before I'm glad you enjoyed the festivities in Chiang Mai if you ever ever get a chance to celebrate in Bangkok it is an unbelievable event I have celebrated three Songkrans in Bangkok and have never seen any violence or even nasty looks it is marvellous to see so many thousands of people together laughing smiling and just enjoying each other it is an unbelievably beautiful event
Yea! I can imagine Bangkok gets crazy!! Songkran brought everyone together to have fun and enjoy each others company. It was an amazing thing to experience.

อิจฉาจังผมเป็นคนพุทธนราธิวาสที่นี่ไม่เคยมีเทศกาลสงกรานต์เลยหรือเทศกาลอะไรก็ไม่มีเพราะมันเสี่ยงอันตรายเมื่อวานก่อนพวกโจรใต้มันก็วางระเบิดวัดเจาะไอร้องคนพวกนี้มันไม่เคยคิดว่ามันเป็นคนไทยมันเลยไม่มีเทศกาลอะไรของไทยพุทธเลยทั้งที่คนพุทธเป็นคนส่วนใหญ่ของประเทศเเต่พวกมันก็ไม่เคยเปิดใจเลย

Songkran Chiang Mai The officers cleaned up the sewage in the river. Both the mud and some of the garbage that lies beneath the water surface. Ready to sprinkle white lime to adjust the condition. Before releasing the clean water diverted from the irrigation canal to fill the moat. Colleen was also sprayed into the water. for disinfection and adjust the water condition to be clean again

Songkran in Chaing Mai is so much amazing. I personally love water festival in Chaing Mai since i was youth and came here to play water figthing around the city cannal. It was so much fantastic for me never forgeting a good time there.
We’re glad you have such fond memories of Chiang Mai. We love this city and are happy we got to experience our first Songkran festival here. Happy New Year! 🥳🇹🇭

On April 23, there is Songkran at the end of Thailand at Pradaeng, Samut Prakan.
We’ll be on a bus for 24-hours. 😅 Next time!
