YES! I literally just commented under a guy making fun of Stanton’s rankings. All I said was the rankings right now pre draft will NOT be the same after a year or 3 years. To each their own, whether Stanton was successful or not, dude was in the league AND PLAYED QB. I think it’s an interesting take that I’d love to hear ESPECIALLY since he’s an ex QB. And I’m 100% sure no one in the comment section is an ex NFL QB 😂

    Hondo,
One of your best! Would have loved to get more deeper information from Drew. Like, why is it more important to not run if your 1st read is not open. Sometimes I see quarterbacks hold the ball too long trying to wait for someone to get open and miss out on running and gaining your team valuable yards if there’s open field. Does the statistics say wait and don’t run if you see open field? Love to see a part 2 to this video.

As a Qb coach I couldn't agree more with this evaluator. This evaluator is right on. Coaches and Qb evaluators just know what to look for in Qb play. If I don't see a lot of high football IQ happening on film, and the kid just relies on physical ability, then NFL teams better understand its buyer beware. Doesn't mean the kid will be a bust, just means they better be patient and hope the kid has the work ethic and drive to play the Qb position at such a higher mental level than what they did in college.

Funny thing about Nix that no one seems to mention is that his top 2 weapons are 170 and 160lbs. The biggest knocks on Troy Franklin(the bigger of the two), are that he can be easily thrown off his rts by stronger cbs, and isnt very good at contested catches. With that in mind, is it REALLY any wonder that Oregon would have less emphasis on intermediate passes, where run running in most important, and contested catches may occur more often? Is it any surprise that Nix and/or the Oregon coaches may not have as much confidence in their receivers in running those kinds of routes, if they A) cant be sure the receiver will be where hes supposed to be, and when, or, catch the ball if there is some traffic?
I saw one analyst who bashed Nix for this same thing, and then i saw the very same analyst trash Troy Franklin as a prospect for being so pbysically overmatched so often. Well, how can you not take that into account when you assess Nix? Makes no sense to me. If Nix had a guy like Odunze, he probably WOULD have had more confidence throwing to the intermediate routes more. He probably would have had more confidence throwing into traffic.

Tom Brady, Dan Marino, Mike Vick, Randall Cunningham, Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, Joe Burrow, Aaron Rogers, Derek Carr, and countless others suffered major injuries in the pocket, not running down the field. These injuries include concussions, ACLs, Achilles Tendons, and broken lower extremities. The narrative needs to change. The QBs who do run in the NFL are more likely to slide or get out of bounds than take hits.

Not that I agree with everything Drew said but I appreciate hearing the rationale for the grades. Given that young QBs have enough talent., the most understated factor to me is the team that drafts them and the quality of the coaches and players around them. Mahomes is a stud now, but remember, he sat for a few years to develop and when he became QB1 he had the best set of weapons in the league to play with. Including a HOF TE, WR, and coach/play caller! Comparing guys to Mahomes is almost never a fair comparison because they typically don’t have anywhere near the supporting cast and they’re expected to succeed immediately. A lot of QBs would succeed in Mahomes’ situation. None would in Bryce Young’s situation last year.

I am sorry but I wouldnt want this NFL scout on my team, He doesn't evaluate talent he is Biased I am saying this with 30 yrs of evaluating as a Hobby. I know no one knows for sure but hearing this guy and the lack of knowledge (esp with Daniels as I studied him for the last several weeks through all 5 yrs and he has him totally wrong.) Jaydens strong part his his processing and going through his reads. What is he looking at Jaydens First yr? Jayden of 2023 is a polished qb and his talent does translate. Just listen to him being a Hypcrite on everything as with one guy its fine but the other it isnt.
On to his picks he has
JJ no1?? he is clearly having a man crush... He is 2nd round talant.
After this interview Lets watch how his picks turn out. I want to see old film on prior drafts to laugh at his takes.

If he is an expert then whoever listen to this man is why teams miss on QBs so much.

There you have it folks. Aidan is accurate and can anticipate passes. He is the cerebral QB this franchise needs. Get over the mobile QB and this urge to fit today's NFL. It comes down to, can you make multi level passes. Aidan can..
For those who want Jayden, he may be the QB who was hyped the most and may be available in the 2nd round.
He said exactly what I've been saying about him. One read QB. Sorry folks, a huge hell no for Jayden.
And I wouldn't take Penix either. But if I had to take one, Id take
    Penix over Jayden.
DO NOT TRADE UP FOR A QB

I get that just because he hasn't done it doesn't mean he cannot, but c'mon. Number one on day one? Not buying that even for free.

Seems to me that he really likes the guys that remind him of himself and doesn't like the guys that are different than him. Not saying i know more than him but at the same time he only wants to the acknowledge the positive traits of the guys he relates to and doesn't want to recognize the positive traits of those he doesn't relate to. Anyone can pick and chose examples that fit their narrative. With all that said and based on what HE did in the NFL, it is hard to trust his judgement.

There's no way you can compare jj's tape to Joe burrow and think that's the same player.
He started out pretending he was gonna give evaluations based on his tape but then he immediately started in with leadership as the most important quality. And JJ is the best leader.. even though he didn't play with jj or the other quarterbacks... It's 100% hearsay and rumors that he's going off of.

In defense of Drake Maye, the amount of talent gap between teams in CFB can at times be rather large. Even being at UNC they had an o-line that so bad that 2023 tape of Maye is hard to evaluate because of that. In the NFL the talent gap is much smaller.

When he talked about maye and Mcarthy it was all positive and based on potential. When he talked about jd and Williams it was in a negative light and what they can’t do. This was comical and anyone buying this is a joke as well.
