She is not simply a rapper, she's continually bringing something different to each and every production, yet it's instantly recognizably Missy. I love how she properly uses her voice as a key instrument. Her tonal qualities are so different depending on the track. A big part of what makes her tracks stand out is how well she incorporates her voice instrumentally, switching pronunciations, adding drawls, shifting in and out of little melodies to create really fkn cool harmony or contrast to the music. Shifting into quite monotone, but rhythmic and punchy rap flows to make the music track pop more in certain parts, then she effortlessly switches back into melody driven flows. She is the exact opposite of Jay Z in this respect, ya know?
