- Tasmania's bass straight has an abundance of life, but in more recent times the water temperatures seem to be increasing little by little, introducing more frequent catches of Tuna, Snapper and Nannygai which going back to the 60s and even 80s were less frequently caught.
I've always had a passion for the ocean and this summer my boys and I are out to target Snapper a fish we haven't caught in over six years. After a few very slow few months of fishing eventually we find the reef we are looking for an extremely rare reef which ends up providing much more than we were bargaining for, with a range of species not commonly caught in our area. Join our adventure as the boys battle giant snapper using light gear to see who will be the Snapper King!!

Mate if you wanted to maybe you could become one of those lifestyle youtubers? Sail boat, diving, fishing, camping, some guys have made careers out of it if you do it right, without even adding in the prospecting as well. Your ability to story tell and aesthetic camera work is better than most already too, go for it.
Personally I don’t think you need a seperate channel for this content because it’s just another aspect of your fascinating life in beautiful Tassie. 👍🙂

Just do you Levi. I would say most of your subscribers like the outdoors also. Tell those boys of yours to enjoy all the time they can with you. Reason saying, my father is my best fishing bud but he had 4 strokes a few months back. I would say his fishing days are over but I will keep hoping for better days. It will be hard to throw a line without him. This video made me smile and cry. Family first and gold second. Just keep enjoying life mate!

It is your channel. It is about you and what you do. Not about what you show. I like to see this stuff as well. Even the videos when you showed fails is normal. If you dont include stuff like this it becomes a beautiful delusion and i think that is very tiring for oneself. I dont know about you other from what you do in your videos, but for me it is fun exploring a part of the world together with you, i personally wouldnt be able to explore without you. So thank you for that and i hope you can continue what you do for as long at it is fun and meaningfull to you. ❤
This was an awesome episode. Reminds me of my youth when my Dad used to take us deep sea fishing for tuna in the Puerto Rico Trench. Good times.
Of course, it was never about the fish. It was all about the quality time spent together, just like you guys.
One suggestion, olive oil burns at a much lower temperature than corn or peanut oils. So, either lower the heat a little or consider peanut oil instead.
Burnt olive oil produces an odd aftertaste that you never want on your hard earned fish. Enjoy!
Grouse content Levi. Reminds me of fishing around the Whitsundays in the 1980s ( spoilt ). Now in Vic the missis fishes water , I fish dirt! I catch more! Ha ha . Very good to see you having fun with your boys. I have 3 boys as well. Not as much trouble as girls, I think. ❤ the content. Cheers
What a fish. That reminds me of the movie a river run through it. When the dad says the Lord has been good to you boys. But not as good as he has to me and the dad had a monster brown trout
I really enjoyed it, I follow several fishing channels from all over. But I think with your eye for gorgeous scenery and photography skills and editing that I have no problem with either way you go with the separate channel or keeping it all on one. Whatever your gold sniping audience wants. I'm already looking forward to seeing your next fishing video !

Thank you for sharing some real family time. I have spent many days and hours fishing with my son in the San Juan Islands and off the coast of Washington State. Salmon, Halibut, Lingcod, Spot Prawns and Dungeness Crab. Sad day when the freezer goes empty in winter. Memories that will never go away. Cheers

I LOVE fishing more than anything else a person could do in the outdoors! So seeing you and your family out having a blast catching tasty fish and swimming with whales is awesome to see how it is in a different part of the world. Im jealous of y'all being able to swim in the ocean without freezing to death. I grew up fishing in Alaska so swimming wasn't something we did often. Keep it up showing us what you are passionate about! 6lb line catching those is impressive!

Wow, those Snappers were huge, beautiful shots underwater. Such a vast variety you have to choose from, my favorites are Snapper, John Dory and Gurnard.
Use olive oil with the butter, the oil keeps the butter from burning.
