Thank you, sir. I want to learn riving with a froe. I dislike sawing, and today read in a book on history of tools that ripping with a saw is fairly new; old timey hand tool wood workers split their wood instead of sawing.
So, i need to learn this skill better, and your video is one of the few that shows riving for furniture, not firewood.

Great presentation. The part about ideal woods for riving with froes is exceptional! I recently brought down a dying Chinese Chestnut and wonder if anyone knows if this might be a good wood for riving with a froe. Thanks for sharing!
