To tell you a bit about Zhou Shen's background. He got bullied when he was young just because his voice didn't change when puberty came but that was not his choice and people called him names..... because of that he didn't sing in front of people for a long time and he even tried to tone down his voice when he speaks. It takes a long time for him to accept his own voice again and gets where he is now.
He has studied Dentistry in Ukraine when he was young but because of the language barriers, he changes to study Classical music there instead. His goal is to combine Classical and Pop music together to introduce to those who didn't know what Classical music is. His vocal range is very wide and his breath control is very good. He is a polite, funny, and humble guy. He can sing at least over 12 different languages. He can even sing 6 different voices in one song. His music has so many different genres.
If you are willing to dig into his performances, you will be amazed by his talents. A lot of music can heal people's bodies but not many can heal people,'s, souls. Zhou Shen's music is one of them that can heal your soul. Thank you again for reacting to Zhou Shen's performance.

This song is an original theme by Sa Dingding, it corresponds to the soundtrack of the television series "Ashes of Love", and for those of us who know Zhou Shen as a singer, we know that he is the only one who could interpret it with her so perfectly! ! It is an impressive melody that reaches you deep down.

I agree with you that music brings out the emotions. Good chills when the song is especially good. This song is definitely one of them.
Zhou Shen (Charlie) is truly an amazing singer and I hope you check out his other songs, like “Big Fish”, “Ring on the doorbell and listen it to myself”. You will not regret it.

Great reaction Brandon. When it comes to getting hit by music I am like you and I'm happy that I can get emotional and get goosebumps while listening to some performances. Both singers did a wonderful job here. I'm not too familiar with Sa Dinging who composed this song (it's from the soundtrack of the Chinese drama "Ashes of Love") and i only know a few of her songs but I'm a big fan of Zhou Shen's angelic voice. He started early with singing, joined the school choir and won the first place repeatedly in choir competitions. But when he hit puberty his voice didn't significantly change. Since he still sounded like a girl in middle school he was ridiculed by his classmates and they were calling him names. Because of the discrimination he experienced, he became more and more silent. He didn't sing on stage for three years in junior high school. Fortunately he regained confidence and was able to make his uniqueness his strength. He studied Bel Canto at the Ukrainian Conservatory of Music and today he is one of the most popular singers in China.
Zhou Shen plays the piano, guitar and clarinet. He can speak five foreign languages: English, Ukrainian, Russian, Italian and Polish and he sings in even more languages.
He sings songs of different genres. Some of my recommendations:
His signature song is "Big Fish" which won 8 awards: czcams.com/video/HMWyN68VpSU/video.html
One of my favorite songs is "Ring the doorbell, listen by myself": czcams.com/video/hdjoVmSkxHY/video.html
His cover of "Memory" from the musical "Cats" is beautiful: czcams.com/video/cmc1aP90zGc/video.html
He sang "Let it go" from the Disney movie "Frozen" in nine languages: czcams.com/video/lT_1UUmhV7k/video.html
Dalangbengba is another great and fun song (if you ever wanna react to it, let me know and I will give you some background information about it): czcams.com/video/eK-6lmgjR5A/video.html
If you prefer a pop/rock song then I recommend "Unravel": czcams.com/video/V1TxiUNlad8/video.html
BTW You should add Zhou Shen's name to the title of the video, too.

We are threaded by the string of life. She is you, and we are her. We are life itself living among all living creatures.” Said by her in the interview in her learning of Taoism.

As I understand it, Sa Dingding, who featured in the Fantastical Costume drama, Ashes of Love, wrote the song ... consequently the lyrics speak to the characters and story in the fantasy. I totally endorse you getting invested in this piece - it makes me cry to hear this performance because I have seen the story and this rendition so beautifully recalls the highs and lows of Ashes of Love.

That chills and goosebumps feeling is called "frisson."
"Frisson is a sensation not much different from shivering from a purely physiological standpoint, only it occurs due to stimuli other than cold temperatures. Some of the most common stimuli that trigger frisson include certain kinds of music, a piece of art (like a painting or a movie scene) or witnessing something that invokes a particularly strong emotional response (like fear, sadness etc.) in an individual."
Scientists aren't sure exactly which part of the brain is responsible but between 55% and 86% of people can feel it.
Anyway, Zhou Shen's and Sa Dingding's voices absolutely did the frisson thing to me.

Oh, amazing song by Sa Dingding. She has folk background, you should react to some her more folk songs, amazing one is "Alive (sanskrit mantra)" with beautiful music video.
And, if you like metaphysical and romantic things, I recommend song "Paradox 5" by japanese band D'espairsRay, one of the most beautiful and emotional songs I've ever heard, when we talk about lyrics, I can't compare this song with any other, it's not happy song, but amazing. Please, just listen it, not as reaction, just for yourself, and read some translation of lyrics and tell me what you think about this song. :)

Ignore those tuneless people’s negativity. Either one gets it or one doesn’t. Love you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ nothing better than to honestly express one’s feelings. The young man’s singing this with Sa Ding Ding (who composed this pieces music) is ZHOU SHEN. IF you copy and paste his Chinese name below in you tube, you can hear most of his song

Ok so, I've read enough, if your interested in the story behind it it's beautiful and super sad. So the story was originally written during the Zhou Dynasty, it takes place before the first Chinese Dynasty the Xia Dynasty over 4,800 years ago the first Emperor Yu the Great was given the Empire from the Yellow Emperor, it takes place in Heaven and Earth, it's about the 3 sovereigns and the 5 Devine Emperors. Like I said the story was written during the Zhou Dynasty (the 3rd Chinese Empire 3,500 years ago, and this rewrite was from the fable sung at court during the Tang Dynasty around 400 ad. The fable takes place around 6,500-7,000 years ago, very sad they made a minnie series call Ashes of Love about it, you should watch it. My wife is Chinese she's a direct descendant of the Zhou Dynasty, even though she says she's Han, and her son is named after the Yellow emperor Huangdi. Her last name is Zhou. It's an eternal love story between a man and a woman in the immortal kingdom, one dies and is reborn a Phoenix. I won't say more not to ruin it for you. But be prepared to cry as with all Chinese fables. This fable is right up there with the fable of White Snake, and the fable The Money King and the Pig King. In this one she's the Phoenix and he's the Dragon, that's what makes them inseparable, the Phoenix is always female and the dragon is always Male and they must meet up. There is a great English version of this song also. I'm not going by the rewrite of the series but the original fable. Look up Tao Qian.

I am also like you mate, emotionally hit hard by music. Once I heard something I never heard before at a mall of all places, and I was transfixed at my spot for 3 minutes straight. Then I got into some mini depression since my brain craved it so bad. It took me years to find what it was. Rare are such songs though, and often my brain reacts with anger when exposed to some seriously sh..ty music that became immensely popular, or when someone butchers a song I love.
It has flip sides too :)

Omg you got the feeling of an eternal love spot on . This song is a soundtrack of a love story called Ashes of Love . In a tragic accident , the girl sacrifices herself to save the Heaven and Demon race and passes . She then becomes a tear in his eye . Afterwards , the guy searches the worlds for her and everything he sees , she sees . Whenever he begins to cry , he sees her . When he finally sheds tears , he gets the chance to ask for her forgiveness and convey his love . She forgives him and truly passes into the nothingness . In the end because of her selfless sacrifice she is reincarnated , he finds her reborn soul and FIN ! Truly a beautiful love story . One of my favorite Chinese dramas of all time .

I found this music by watching Asian movies - Kung Fu/ fantasy/ historical drama. If you want more music like this go to OST of the movies like Eternal Love, Eternal Love Dream, Novoland: Pearl Eclipse, The Sword and the Brocade and The Long Ballad. These people are true artists. Neither singer screams or yells on those high notes. - Charlie Zhou Shen is a man with a high voice and yet does not sound like a ‘castrati’. His voice is perfectly controlled and full. Sa Dingding is so talented and lovely. She writes much of her material.

OMG! Someone singing w/Sa DingDing it's like a waste of time. Does Adam Lambert need a second vocalist? This is 100 steps down from the original sung by Sa DingDing. Imagine how good it must be b/c this version isn't trash but there's no beating PERFECTION. Sa DingDing does not just sing 2 of the songs on the OST but she acts in the 58 episode TV Series as well. She plays the Goddess of Time & "Lifetimes". She's a great actress, too. I don't know who suggested this but suggest y'all go listen to the original & decide which is better.
