Dave & Ashley, what a wonderful gift you have given your family, in particular Claire. Because of you, Claire has learned about patience, discipline, trust and love. You committed to getting her a puppy when she was 10 because you thought it was best for your family to wait...and then you delivered on your promise. How proud you must be of how Claire encouraged all the kids to put the puppy's needs (when she first came home) above their own despite their excitement. Claire has always been a beautiful soul and she continues to shine brightly as she gets older. So much of this video moved me to tears, but nothing compared to Millie's "she's dead". I suspect that clip will be shown at her wedding one day lol. Claire, Carson, June & Millie, I hope you have THE BEST TIME with River. She is one lucky dog.

Claire shows so much maturity beyond her age. The footage of her 10th Birthday and her looking right towards the camera from that I can tell she's going to have a bright future ahead of her. Congrats on the new puppy! 2 bits of advice 1) crate train, make the crate the best place ever where the puppy is fed and gets treats (it will help her sleep at night with one of the heartbeat toys) 2) get your puppy into training asap
I was 10 when my family finally decided to grant me my wish that I held close to my heart for years -
And that was my wish of getting a Golden Retriever puppy. I even saved some of my money from birthdays/Christmases to help buy things for her. That dog was the most incredible Christmas present I ever received. ❤️ she was in our lives for 14 years. I went through the rest of Primary school with her, the whole of high school, university and my first year of working. She sat with me while I studied and worked and just knew when I was sad or stressed ❤ She passed away in 2019 but will always be my "sister" ❤.

❤ My husband and I put our first (brothers from the same litter) dog down November 1, 2019 as well. This was 13 years to the day that we brought them home. Then we put his brother down 2 years ago as of March 13, 2023...the day before he would have been 14.5 years old. This video was so sweet and precious watching the kids and Claire explaining to her younger siblings on how to act when the puppy comes in from the long trip. She is so mature for her age.

🥰🥰I love how claire is smart and was telling the younger kids to be calm and not crowd the puppy that is exactly how to greet a new pet because they are scared at first . I love how all the kids stood very quite and calm and didn't rush over in the dogs face or scream loud in it's face they let him come to them and that is exactly how it should be done you let them explore and come to you instead of overcrowding them or being loud in their faces like how a lot of kids do . this video made me cry. i lost my dog end of Jan this year and watching this has made me yearn for a puppy. I remember that excitement when they first come into your home and the funny antics and them falling asleep on your foot or your leg. Such adorable and wonderful beautiful beings. You will have so much fun and laughter and unconditional love. Make the most of your pup with extra walks, and cuddles. We adopted an 8 month old Labradoodle a few wks ago from a rescue and I was so happy to have Annie! Later realized she was born the day after our sweet sweet Sara Grace passed away!! June 19,22 and June 20,22 Annie came to life!! We just got to have her 8 months later!

This family works hard for everything they get, from skills, to happiness to good health. There is no short cut. Our society now lives on "shake and bake".
