The curry house setting and the food makes this scene very cosy!
Th setting does indeed look so cosy and relaxing specially the food.
I'am I the only one who feels hungry after watching this scene?
No. It always makes me want to have an Indian
Best to order the same dishes as del from an Indian and watch this
Me too. Could murder a ruby right now lol
Staving
Yeess 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯
Del Boy really loves his little brother and will do anything to make sure he is not hurt. A deep relationship covered perfectly with laughter.
Best Sitcom ever.
Del was the one who sold him the broken engines in the first place, lol
@@thememaster7 learning him lessons of the big world before someone screwed him over

@@thememaster7 it was a lesson rodney wasn't cunning enough to set up his own everyone would eat him up in his weird way del was protecting him

One of those times that Del shows how much he loves & cares for his brother that he'll do anything to make his brother happy despite their many disagreements & misadventures
the best bit is how del pours him a glass of wine and then he doesn't get a single sip
Maybe this will tickle your fancy czcams.com/video/mBqg7qTujvM/video.html
What a plonker you really are Rodney czcams.com/video/mBqg7qTujvM/video.html
Ha ha love that part.
The best part is when Rodders thinks he's made a profit and goes back to Alfie and buys back all the lawn mower motors, the whole point of the gag, but the muppets running this BBC channel cut the punchline off.
With 200 quid he could buy himself a bottle of wine
I love only fools and horses i can watch it all day long and watch it over and over again
Me too! In fact a tiny clip each day makes it all worthwhile
LeannePower02 we should watch it together 😁
Bill Patrick Jones no one gives a fuck that’s why
@Bill Patrick Jones fuck off
Naeem Abdul Bayern this is not a dating agency pal - it’s a clip from only fools and horses
This is a brilliantly acted scene, where Del seemingly offers Towser a glass of wine and then constantly prevents him taking even one sip during the whole negotiation so that he can drink it himself at the end!
And so subtlety done that you had to watch it a few times to notice it.
And also uses the money he just gave him to pay for his curry. Snide one😂😂
@@danw1374touser gets his own back by only giving Rodney 165 quid
"Young Towzer" doesn't look that young to me, LOL.
@First name Last name Certainly must have been, LOL.
David Jason has to be the Greatest actor that ever graced our screens. Not only this show but others . What a diamond Geezer
I love Dels reaction when he whistles too loud and makes the woman drop her bhaji 😂David Jason is a great actor ❤😂❤
How did del not spit some of that food onto towsers face?
Phenomenal acting. Doing all the hand movements at the right time, the eating and talking, and delivering the lines is just brilliant.
The scene itself fits in as a comfortable one where the del character is chilled out after having his kid brother thinking he can go alone in business, does a bad deal and is suffering from entrepreneurial heartache. Meanwhile Del looking to harmonise everything again and everyone’s a winner. Backfires in the end…such is life as the moral of the story. Shite happens.
It’s not really meant to be a joke scene as such although it has bursts of comedy several times in the scene e.g onion bhaji, stopping towser through the scene from drinking and then gulping it himself, paying the bill!!
A true fan will watch this scene just for relaxation. I do. Has that 80s feel.
Last point. Was just watching the broken chandelier scene before this. Acting is just ace. The best comedy for me net for net in any age. Doesn’t mean other programs can’t be enjoyed. Check out Kevin Hart, funny. My kids are below double digits and enjoy fresh Prince and sister sister just as much as I did at same age. Different types of comedy. This is just a level of its own !!
David Jason is really good at acting whilst eating. He did it a lot in A Touch of Frost too.
"Sorry madam , your onion bhaji's down there by your foot "
😂😂😂😂😂😂
That curry looked stunning 🙌😘😘😘😍😍😍😚😚😚😙😙😙😊
Later on
Del: "You telling me that Towser didn't pay you?"
Rodney: "Oh yeah he paid me but I have invested the money"
Del: "what?"
Rodney: "I went back to Alfie Flowers and got us another load of lawn mower engines"
Comedy gold😂
😂😂😂
Don’t forget he gives him £20 and then pays the bill with it!
@@SK-uq2wr Anything for a mate, I wouldn't pay that bill if I were you
That is my favorite scene. Hahahaha...
You would think Del would learn to stop interfering with Rodney lol It never comes to any good. Del paid off Rodney's tutor to pass his exams, which got him a job with Cassie's father that he was incapable of doing, then getting disheartened and leaving after refusing to turn up. Just one example! If he'd be honest with Rodney, it would've helped him more than all the manipulation and lies. But then there wouldn't be any comedy!
Every time he's about to pick the wine glass up he knocks it back down.
Thanks for that.... I usually watch you tube with my eyes closed
@@thehop639 Thankfully there are some people to tell us this information so we don't need to watch it with our eyes open, where would we be without such helpful commenters
"I'm glad I bumped into you" hahaha!
Genius. Dub this show into every common spoken langauge.
A classic bit I remember from this episode;
Rodney: We're going into the travel business.
Del Boy: What, on £200?
Rodney: Well, we're starting in a small way.
Grandad: What you got, a wendy house!?
Del Boy: Towser(whistles). "Sorry madam your onion bhjaee's down their by your foot. 😅😅
where going into the self catering holiday trade what on 200 nicker
where starting small
what have you got a wendy house
classic line :D
NeidalRuekk grandad was amazing
I read that as Del and Rodney... I bet i'm not the only one. lol
The name of this episode is Healthy Competition from Series 3 and was originally broadcast on Thursday November 17th 1983
Michael A Donaghy So long ... i was a baby then, just born 😁..But stil my fave tv show ever!!!!!

Great acting skill...drinking and eating on the job. It’s bloody hard to do
Jimmy Baldwin The Miami twice one was hilarious, Del testing the wine. 😂😂
I laugh when one of the mafia men says ‘ how can you joke, at a time like this, his father’s just been shot’
One of the best comedies!
hahah love the part when he whistles and than get scared from his own whistle :D
He ain't scared of his own whistle lol h jumps coz he noticed the lady dropped her food he is reacting to her food dropping
Sorry madam, your onion bhaji is down there by your foot.
I love that scene too David Jason is an amazing character actor ❤😂❤
Back of my van? You must be joking..I've only just cleared them out of the van!
Great piece of physical comedy how Del won't let Towser have any of the drink that he's poured for him
Look on the plate how much was left makes me hungry too
The best of our country tv the best of British ❤
Classic
That's great acting
Brillient!
'' I wouldnt pay that bill if i was you ''
Did you notice how much food Del wasted he didn't eat it
This isn't the funny part of this episode, later in the episode Rodney is so happy that he made a big profit that he goes back to buy some more lawn mower engines, obviously he doesn't realise they are the same ones! lol
MagicDanFalconer Dels reaction to that 😂 it was perfect

I wish you could get OFAH in 1080p
Are u blind
10 pounds 80 p wont get you far in London.
What makes me laugh is later on towser only gave Rodney 180 instead of 200 so he done del out of 20 quid lol
He gives Rodney 165 not 180 but yeah I know what you mean lol it’s hilarious
He did Del out of £15. The 20 he gave Touser to buy the engines he then used to pay the bill, so he still owes Touser the 20 that he said he'd give him.
Touser then gave Rodney 165, so taking 35. Del owed him 20 of this anyway, leaving 15 that Touser pinched.
@@davidrobins1021 You're both ignoring ( or oblivious of ) the fact that Del Boy left Towser to pay the bill for the meal.
Clive Bindley yes which del payed for with his money
Or it could be that Towser gave Rodney the full £200, but Rodney said only £165 coz he had to pool the proceeds to buy back into the business?
November 1983 london. 😉.
A waiter called Tony in an Indian restaurant...🤣🤣🤣
DebsLuvsMusic It’s not his real name, it’s Anthony 🤣😂🤣
Yes they substitute their indian names with english names. I go to one of my clients he’s indian and he is called john francis
He's a good brother
Fancy a ruby Murray now 🤤
anyone got the full episode for this?
ahh, you know it's good comedy when it's in 4:3
Tony the waiter sounds like Masood from Eastenders
@MillsysMoments It's not NON profit at all, it just usually collects money from licenses and not ads and you cant have licenses online
Alfie flower haha
❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍
They should have made Young Towser a regular.
This is Touser's only appearance in Only Fools and Horses I believe or may be I'm wrong.
He was in an earlier scene at the auction where Rodney and Mickey bought the broken lawnmower engines.
Hopefully Yes, thank God
Dinsee, you love him really.
Yes it was. He was mentioned again in a series 7 episode
All free now.
Im ninety and i still listen to this m..... oops wrong video.
Very clever, but Dell's forgetting one thing, he's just given him £200 knickr. Unless, those notes are forged!
I think these early episodes represent the best of OFAH, before it became a 'family favourite' and tradition to watch at xmas, which I think transformed it into a formulated comedy rather than the comedy social sitcom it was created as. Although these great episodes show how the Trotters had to survive by making money whenever they could - which was what most poor families like them in London faced during the early 80s, I still find it hard to believe that Rodney, although being as poor or skint as he is, could not even afford a new pair of shoes, as shown later on; where does he shop or what kind of shoes does he desire to wear for godsake? surely he could spare a couple of quid for a cheap pair, shoes aren't that expensive even in London. It's a pair of shoes not a TV, they're essentials not luxuries.
+systemanic They became millionaires in 1996 and bought everything they wanted.
I thought this comment was gonna come to a point but it didn't.
I agree in a way but the later ones in series 6 and 7 and some specials are even more cleverly written
👍👍
Funny things was next scene Rodney only got £165 as Towser kept rest for himself and then he got a load more engines exactly the same from Alfie Flowers
At least eat all of your curry Del Boy.
what episode is this?
Healthy Competition Series 3
Can someone please explain this scene to me overall apart from the humour side to it, i want to know Del Boys's plan of action here it sounds interesting since he's the wheeler dealer
Glc parks department 😅😅
Just seen that David Jason's worth 7 million sterling. Hes worth every penny.. God bless him
Del was stupid really for not anticipating Rodney making another plonker move. Would have been better just giving his much smaller amount for em🤣🤣
£20 bill in 1982 close too £80
did he just give him a 20 quid tip? bloody hell
No, he paid his bill with the money he gave to Touser!
@@moi7748 ah ok.he clearly says it too. don't know how i missed that.
Didn't eat much of that curry did he
"Young Towser" might have wanted to leave his Ruby Murray, which is Cockney rhyming slang, for curry. Del Boy did say, in Strained Relations to Great Uncle Albert, "Come on, Sinbad. Let's go down there, before the Health Inspector".
Only Dal can do that ...

@MillsysMoments The BBC is funding by fees. BBC Worldwide is their commerical arm and that isn't.
Really fancy an Indian now!
Just give Rodney 180.
if you want to view other countries just use hotspot sheild.
it will hide your ip adress and allow acsess to regeon specific websites.
I'd give Rodney £150, and keep the other £50 for myself.....lubbly jubbly. You know it makes sense.
So Rodney's only getting £180 then?

Wasn't 20£ too much for a single dinner in cheap restsurant back in the 80s?
Why are people ranting about world wars over a CZcams video?
@SerenityRebel actually Im from Croatia and I was jokeing ! this is my favorite show . Ive watched every episode , every season when I was little .. I like your humor but dont like the "we will conquer whole world , we still have colonies in 21st century shit ..
Wasn't there a remake of Only Fools and Horses set in the Balkans somewhere too?
He leaves a whole plate of food :/ tv shows and films always do that? Why not order a curry, have the production crew eat most of it, put a tiny bit on plate and have David play with scraps while filming. I know I know, but its a bugbear of mine lol, fantastic scene otherwise!
I love this show but I can't help but wonder why these people are friends with Del. He just blatantly scams them all the time.
Towzer can't act to save his life
and i bet you can't act for shit either.
I love how there's an ongoing background gag in this scene of Del not wanting Towser to drink the wine, and stopping him every time he tries to. This was when OFAH was brilliant. It went downhill after Leonard Pearce died.
Nah I disagree the show was still amazing
I'm not sure how you figure that mate, it's widely accepted that season 6 is the best and that was well after Pearce died. Regardless he was a fantastic addition to the cast.
This is clodiantric
£20 for a meal how times have changed probably be closer to £100 now
Twenty quid those days was expensive specially at Indian restaurants.
@dsahsdouga Yes but what you dont know is that all these colonies that are under british rule like being under british rule, our benefits and government are one of the best in the world, places like the falklands and gibralta dont want to change. So its not a fact of us throwing our rule on them its a fact that at anytime they can go back to spain or argentina but choose not too.
This is good but Steptoe and Son is better, after all John Sullivan nicked a lot of ideas from Steptoe and Son.
Trust the BBC to only give us half the joke. Typical.
Wasn't for me.
Talking whilst eating. It was a habit of Jason. Presumably he thought it showed working class 'character'. Revolting. If he'd had any personal class at all, he wouldn't have done it. Cheap and nasty.
