    Bud. For the non-running no key units..You have to start taking a wrench with you and turn the crank to make sure it's not seized...and check the top end to make sure timing is still intact. Plus check tailpipe for oil. Cosmetic is just a fraction

    The half moon shaped piece of metal in the floorboard is the end of the lower A-arm where the ball joint is pressed into. I can't believe you didn't see that the A-arm was sitting on the inside of the rim. There were scratches on the inside of the rim where it was riding.

    That radiator hose on the Vette did look like it just popped off or something. The clamp was still in position, it wasn't pushed farther up the hose like it would be if someone removed it on purpose.

  • @duhwolf6413
    @duhwolf6413 Před 6 lety +6

    That rad hose is a tactic. I actually caught someone disconnect the transmission linkage so everyone who reviewed the auction though it was a bad trans and low balled the bid.

    The silver Ford Taurus, Directly after the burnt up Z-06, Even if you replaced the water pump, Thermostat housing & thermostat & every part of the cooling system & purchase a replacement transmission, WITH BARELY OVER 100K, That would be a nice car!

  • @d.j.9961
    @d.j.9961 Před 6 lety

    The ford Taurus that was "donated" was that the thermostat housing that was leaking coolant & dripping down onto the transmission? simply replace the thermostat & the gasket & try again. seems someone used stop leak instead of fixing it. Even if that isn't a thermostat housing, it appears to me to be a simple fix? id be more worried of, Is there an underlying overheating problem or is it just that leak? Also, what all has that stop leak damaged?

    I normally try to buy two of the same kind of car with different kinds of damage that way i have a parts car and sell off the extra parts you don't need to pay for the build. That is the one way to come ahead on these. if you go out and buy parts then a lot of the time they are not worth it.

    That vette looks like the rear wheel fell off while driving. That happened to my 4runner and you can tell because the whole inside of the rim is scraped all the way around. Someone probably didn’t tighten the lugs and the wheel fell off causing it to crash messing up the front.

    The Corvette at 18:30, IF IT CAN BE HAD AT A STEAL, I would love to have it! Even if just for the track! All I could see wrong was the rod, tie wheel & rotor along with some minor body work & it appears to me that they pulled the rear side marker light to give the appearance of more damage! As if the owner just wanted out & wanted money because a normal car enthusiast would have replaced the rotor, wheel, tie rod & depending on drivability, would of kept it for a track car!

  • @DaddytechEnt
    @DaddytechEnt Před 6 lety

    *Jeep and the vette both could be good quick flips. the vette i would say just smacked sideways into a curb from the looks of things you can probably replace that rim, the rear tie rod end, the rotor, the air bag, and the front nose clip on that vette and be good, Absolute worst case is that alloy ring looking deal may have busted loose from the rear diff and that whole differential needs to be replaced because you can't weld alloy aluminum that's absolute worst case with that one though. what it looks like is someone was out hot dogging it like after a cars and coffee or coming out of a car show and did a burn out and lost control and smacked a curb with the front and the ass end came around and smacked the curb too busting the rotor and bending the rim and tie rod end. not sure what the rear diff would cost in one of those cars since it's a floating independent suspension rear axle but if it's not too costly you could still turn a profit on that one too. As for the Radiator hose. remember when the car is running the cooling system is under pressure so more than likely when the car hit the curb with the front end it hit hard and fast enough to flex that whole front end and the hose just popped off. You should have ponied up for the jeep that vette i would have taken it to $4500 myself if i had it. but yeah without knowing what that broken ring piece was actually from i don't blame you for being cautious*

    dont get that taurus first it has a blown head gasket, and secondly that trans fluid looks like strawberry milkshake ie water in the transmission due to the trans cooling pocket in the radiator leaking into the trans fluid, i once had a daewoo lanos 2001 model and a opel vectra 93 model both cars had that brown sludgy crap in the coolant tank and would drink it right out both engines stayed at cold on the temp gauge, the daewoo ran pretty good but would dump its coolant literally onto the ground if the coolant tank was topped up, the opel ran like crap at idle but ran good otherwise, i suspect both had a blown head gasket, dont know how the opel made it back 120miles back to my house without cooking but somehow it did lol

    • @AutoAuctionRebuilds
      @AutoAuctionRebuilds  Před 6 lety

      The trans on the Taurus had perfect fluid. I've seen many coolers pop and mix with the trans fluid. This was pristine pink fluid. No water at all. No water in the oil either.

    I realize that this video is old but, The silver colored Corvette with minor damage in the front, & minor damage to the driver side rear quarter area & a busted expansion tank/overflow bottle, ASSUMING THAT THEY SHUT THE CAR OFF IMMEDIATLY, I don't think that it would be to bad to fix but, THAT IS AN ASSUMPTION! Without a full overview & replacing tie rod & getting an alignment, change the expansion tank, adding coolant & letting it run/ CHECKING IT OUTTO ENSURE THAT IT DOES NOT OVER HEAT & THAT IT WAS NOT OVERHEATED PREVIOUSLY, MIGHT BE A GOOD BUY BUT, WITH A SALVAGE TITLE, IT WILL NEVER BE WORTH AS MUCH AS ONE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN WRECKED! A few months ago, I hit a small piece of an a small. very small orange cone & of all things, It broke a hose clamp that was not old!

However, the downside was the repair/restoration could have taken longer than expected. Very easy to get Corvette parts cheap. Good car to sell for spring/summer coming up. They'll be more I'm sure.

ALL I ALL, I BET THAT CORVETTE COULD EASILY BE FIXED & UP & RUNNING!!! SWEET MOTOR & DRIVELINE- NOT THE VERY TOP OF THE LINE BUT, JUST UNDER IT!!!! DEPENDING ON THE ASKING BID, I LIKE IT!!! FIX IT OVER A PERIOD OF TIME & KEEP IT AS A PERSONAL VEHICLE!!! I BET that some other bidder or just a passer bye, maybe someone who didn't have enough money, simply removed the hose to thow people off, or just wanted to see if the coolant system was pressurized? or someone just being stupid but, I would definitely bid on that corvette!!! Even if only for parts!!! well worth it's sum in just parts alone!!! The corvette is an icon & a beautiful one at that!!!

    Randy you did a kick ass job on this video. I especially like the editing at the beginning. You should think about freelancing as a video editor for other You Tubers - and yet another source of income!!!

    Think tax check season is almost over. Prices should come down over the next month or 2.
    The Ford Taurus, even if they are really nice there is very little demand for them. Your buyer will be a 55 year old lady that only has $1500 to spend.

    I saw a 2008 corvette go for 10k with a completely wrecked rear ended. People pay to much for vets imo.
