Beautiful ship! So sad she's rotting away now. God bless the U.S.A.!
I try to spread the word of the mighty beasts achievement of beating the famous Queen Mary. I hate her current state of abandonment but everyone I’ve informed has no knowledge of the ship. It’s a shame but hopefully one day the knowledge will return once she’s restored.
The fact that The US built the fastest ship (which still holds the record to this day) and now they leave her to rot. So sad 😭
And her propellers were designed by a woman, Elaine Kaplan, in a field where women were basically unheard of at the time.
It's the condition of SS United States that motivated the retrofitting of RMS Queen Mary.
