  • The car has not seen the road for 17+ years and needs some TLC, i want to get it through MOT so that I know how much its really going to cost me, and if it even runs for a decent distance.
I wanted to re-baseline the car and get it running nice, then everything required for MOT. In this episode we change the Power Steering Fluid as its probably been 20 years since it was done, and not to mention the power steering pump is a bit noisier than perhaps it should be.

That foamy look to the fluid typically means there is air getting in the system somewhere. I don't think it should do that simply because the cap is off. I had an old Honda Pilot that did the same thing and had a bad whine to it and the fix was to replace some o-rings. I'm curious if that's possible on the Z32?

That was nearly 2 years ago and it works just like it should now. I think the air bubbles were introduced when I disconnected the pipe and released a load of the old fluid. When I put the new fluid in, no doubt it would have had some trapped air in there.
