    That foamy look to the fluid typically means there is air getting in the system somewhere. I don't think it should do that simply because the cap is off. I had an old Honda Pilot that did the same thing and had a bad whine to it and the fix was to replace some o-rings. I'm curious if that's possible on the Z32?

    • @ModorFix
      @ModorFix Před měsícem

      That was nearly 2 years ago and it works just like it should now. I think the air bubbles were introduced when I disconnected the pipe and released a load of the old fluid. When I put the new fluid in, no doubt it would have had some trapped air in there.

    Hello mate, thanks for posting this video. I've recently purchased a 300ZX Twin Turbo and really want some BOV's. The usual "forums" strongly advise against it due to the MAF, then I found GFB's website and went down a slight rabbit hole. Assuming you still have them, have you had any issues since the video? And do you know the difference between MACH 2's and their normal "universal" range?

    • @ModorFix
      @ModorFix Před 2 měsíci

      The reason people advise against BOV's is because they usually vent to the atmosphere, creating that whoosh sound everyone knows and loves. However, that lovely air that is expelled causes a mis-match in the ecu as to what the MAF registered coming in, and what is actually in the system, this causes over fuelling. With a standard MAF in place, best to get this style of BOV which re-circulates the air. That's why I went for the GFB. The stock ones recirculate, however they get weak over time and can leak too.

    • @ModorFix
      @ModorFix Před 2 měsíci

      To answer the second part of your question, I am not sure what you mean by "normal" range. However, the main thing I can think of is that the Mach 2 has adjustment on the tension of the spring. This allows the BOV to not open early and hence hold the boost for longer until it really needs to dump

    • @wishybishy
      @wishybishy Před 2 měsíci

      I'm very grateful for your responses! What I meant by "normal" - on the GFB website, they have a "universal" BOV listed for the 300, as well as the MACH 2. So wasn't sure if you knew what the difference was as visually, the look the exact same.

    • @ModorFix
      @ModorFix Před 2 měsíci

      @wishybishy if you filter on 300zx it only shows the mach 2 and the deceptor. To answer your other question, it's a great bov. I have one on the 200sx too. No issues

    THANK YOU, I have been bamboozled why after new rear pads and adding washers to create more tension it still wouldn't hold. I shall try this today. MY CAR ROLLED OFF ITS HANDBREAK THE OTHER DAY IN MORRISONS CARPARK!!! AND BLOCKED THE ROAD😅

      Omg! That's horrendous. This method should work a treat if everything is new. The cables normally jam up. I need to get new cables for mine again. Probably go genuine toyota this time.

    Does the screen have a USB port for your phone? I couldn’t see a port

      Yes thats the only way you can connect to android auto. You have to run an extension of the unit. Normally comes with the stereo

    enjoyed watching this vid, thanks - ive been looking at getting a Cube for some time & looking at the UK Kaizen version, but the UK weather & the inevitable rust issue has me looking at those Jap imports - but im shocked at the rust on your model - i assume its an import ? maybe not all the imports are super clean - any info on why this has the rust issues ? plus any tips much appreciated

    I've certainly heard RX7 and RX8 owners using 2 stroke oil. In regards to filters, many companies are just selling a "aftermarket" filter with their own brand on it. Mazda are probably one of few left who make their own parts!

    Just want to say thanks for doing this series. A few years later and here I am, about to use it to turbo my own Roadster :D Just out of curiosity, what seats are those in the car in this video?

    • @ModorFix
      @ModorFix Před 9 měsíci

      Glad I am inspiring you to do your own. I wish I had this series to watch when I did mine, I would have done it a lot quicker lol! The seats are Honda S2000. I have a video on how to install them.

      It's a huge help. I've got my turbo/intercooler etc. and just gathering a few other bits now. Did you ever do a video showing where you placed the MAP sensor and which ECU did you end up using? Cheers :)@@ModorFix

    • @ModorFix
      @ModorFix Před 9 měsíci

      @enginebreaking6517 the map sensor will go on any of the (I think there is only one) vacuum ports on the inlet manifold. I have a e-manage blue. Going to replace the whole engine, bigger turbo and ecu masters black ecu. Current engine still burns oil, and the clutch is slipping too.

      Cheers I'll take a look. Got to do the clutch on mine and run it a little to check all is OK before I turbo, as I've just got this one! EMU Black is the ECU for me I think... Love the vacuum manifold idea btw. Will be purchasing one of those! Hope you make a new series when you swap the engine out :)@@ModorFix

      I was planning on doing g one on the engine swap for sure and all the upgrades. Did want to get it on the dyno before I do that, however, that would mean changing the clutch, and that would be false economy considering the engine will be coming out. Although I could put it back together as it is and then upgrade the turbo/ecu as those jobs aren't huge.
