I Went To JAIL Mowing This OVERGROWN Yard!

- I found this historic jail on my way home from Houston and it needed a good mowing! After doing a lot of research and making some phone calls I finally found the owner! I told him who I was and what I wanted to do and he was very happy to let me take care of this overgrown yard. I left my house at 4:30 in the morning and drove 3 hours one way to take care of it so make sure you watch to the end for some amazing before and after pictures! I want to say thank you to everyone for your support, I can’t do it without you!

Crazy distance for one yard ,full day driving to and from.more weeds then grass makes for a hard job to get a great finish.

TEE PEE SORRY I dumped on you! I can tell you are relative new at this and right now is very hot outside and people are a little more easily upset! You did a good enough job for that little village! Again if you were to contact M&D Lawn Care in Houston they would probably invite you to join together to do a yard and you can see what they do each time with little equipment!

It would be a lot more accurate to say that you whipped that abandoned jailhouse into great shape. It looks way better, and the people of Comanche, Texas (population 4,200 and then some) sure do appreciate it. Hope you got home safely. At three hours on the road, that is a mighty long drive.

I Deeply Appreciate you doing this for our Community, I and my husband live here for 24 yrs, and we help our neighbors with their lawns and more, In our Late sixty's, and it's getting harder for us to do, Haven't Seen the City Mow where they are suppose to be mowing in.over 5 yrs.

I feel your pain regarding that battery powered leaf blower, i use a strong commercial grade gas blower and can move dirt and debris much faster. Great job!

Ace hardware has backpack blowers for as low as 69.99 and the one I have works pretty good, it's a Toro and I haven't had any problems with it yet.You do good work. I've had my backpack blower for over 3 years and it still cranks every time.
Thank you! I like the handheld ones but they definitely get a little heavy if you use them for long periods of time. I probably will muster through the rest of summer with the one I have and buy a new backpack blower before next year’s mowing season.

How did the owner of the property find you to drive from 2-3 hours away? Are there no mowers in nearby Texas?
I’m sure you don’t need to be told to be super careful in the heat. It’s dangerous out there.
I was coming home from Houston and passed this property so when I got home I started playing Detective and found the owner. As far as the heat I always keep a case of water in my truck and will take breaks sitting in my truck with the AC on. I appreciate you watching my video!
I have a tiny, but powerful leaf blower by Makita. I love it. All of our tools are Makita and the batteries are interchangeable. Nicely done Tee Pee, nicely done! 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦

I use a Stihl trimmer and love it!

Were you listening, the elder’s of the community would be upset! Yes, I understand they most likely don’t understand it may look not so good for a few months for re-growth but you know some just stuck in that mindset. I owned a building in Nebraska that was from the 1900’s and folks go nuts about telling you what to do…thank goodness I made it a historical site and then moved 😆
I couldn’t imagine the headache that goes along with owning a historic building.

My thoughts to the building... why not transform it into a "hostel"?
The owner might find a trustworthy person (maybe homeless?!) as a caretaker of it!
I would consider to stay for a night or more while travelling... as long as I have the key to my cell!😂😂😂
The man that owns it is a lawyer and uses the first floor as his office. He’s kept the second and third floors as they were when they were built. He is trying to preserve the history of it as much as possible.

I really like my Milwaukee two battery blower but you probably want a back pack blower for your bisness good luck the blower you got not enough for home let alone bisness work lol😅

The prison grounds is being cut the grass section is I'm cutting grass in a prison it's a play on words.its probably a prison museum.how the prison was run when it was in use
The owner is an attorney and uses the first floor for his office. The second and third floors are still in original form with all the cells. This was a local jail while it was in use.

You didn't just earn your keep, you earned a two story house working that hard in Texas sun like that. See if you can find a small umbrella to zip-tie to the camera stand to keep the camera cool and buy yourself one of those big jet pack blowers.

I don't know how you have your camera mounted. I would mount it on a tripod with an umbrella over the camera to help keep it from overheating and hang a weight in a backpack from the hook under the tripod to keep it from accidentally blowing over in a gust of wind.
I do all that except a shade over it but I am looking for that now.

If Elders of Community though so highly the old place. Why wasn’t they keeping the lawn up? They need to take turns and make a schedule each week the Triumph vine pulls mortar out the brick. Like English IVy it grows in pores of mortar of bricks and siding damages it
So the reason the lawn was so high is because it’s full of Blue Bonnets. Those are the Texas State Flower and by law your only allowed to cut them after a certain time of year. I agree with you about the vine though. I am not a fan of things growing up a wall.
