In this latest school of the otter guide, ottr shows eye tracking - by doing eye tracking practice your eyes will become better at reading the screen in front of you, either by tracking the letters on a book or logo or by using the brand new set of exercises copied from Jeff Cohn's video (but now in higher resolution and frame rate) to upgrade your eyes and more smoothly reading the targets in front of you. These exercises are in high definition and 60 fps

hey guys we created a website with up to 560hz, infinitely high resolution, the ability to remove the lines and even DARK MODE. check it out - www.eyetrainer.gg/
Any chance you could add a speed slider to this? The default animations are quite slow. Awesome site by the way.
Also an option to have the Free Ball one go on endlessly would be sick
goated website
hey btw what you are using h ere is a huge "trend" or development in sport. its calles neuro physiological implimentation. leading in this field is lars lienhard. there are multiple other solutions to improve hand eye cordination

Ah, yes. The Cartesian coordinates.
I catch em out the air 😎
Thats what i do, then i eventually try to catch the fly, in which i do manage to catch it with my hands, once i caught it with a backhand slap, and it got stuck in-between my index and middle finger
Hey ottr, try making it in dark mode version. The whites just pop out too much and really hurts to look at sometimes. Hopefully, there is no benefit loss if it is in that version.
the whites help strain ur eyes which makes it harder to focus on the balls there for making it more efficient
agreed shit makes my eyes dry out fast af
go outside, see the sun some times... the darkmode demand on apps is purely because you spend too much time in the dark room with your monitor on
@@vukvla2046 What? Have you done any research or literally have any sources to back up that? Minimal research on screens will tell you that is the opposite from the truth. In a prevalently RGB color scaling, blue light damages the retina and causes significant eye strain, which makes it more difficult to sleep. When "white" is the maximum amount of blue light and "black" is zero blue light, dark colors are simply less damaging to the eyes and mitigates strain. Don't be silly and spend your time criticizing other people in zones you are completely uninformed about.

This video might have solved a serious eye condition I had over years. I got an spasm of accomodation and I am basically stuck in "scanning mode" = peripheral view. Using this exercises I finally can see and track again. Usually I need to watch moving things outside for a long time to ease the spasm. Now I can do it via computer. Thx a lot!
EDIT: It is fking insane. My vision in real life improved so drastically. And ingame I got the feeling of beeing "in the game back". Like in a 3D world. CRAZY.
EDIT2: I realized that, while "training" my damaged left eye, I might see better for a certain amount of time. But doing these exercises in the end actually didnt solve my accomodative spasm. The spasm can not be solved by simply doing exercises on the screen. Realizing this I finally went to get eye dilating drops which disable the spastic (= cramp. I literally have an ongoing eye muscle cramp) accomodation. This in the end really solved the spasm. The exercises made me realize though, that having a clear distant 3d view is how it was supposed to be.
EDIT3: I finally got more or less rid of the eye muscle spasm in my left eye by using atropin / atropine drops for over 2 weeks. To summarize: The exercise in this video did not releave the spasm / cramp of my eye muscles (accomodation), but made me realize that my vision in fact had been very wrong over probably a long period of my life. If I would describe it to an unaffected person, the spasm is like a non painful muscle cramp in your arm. You still can throw a ball, but you notice that something feels off. The exercise basically adjusted the hindered functionality and counteracted against the muscle cramp while not relieving it. Like you can still throw a ball, but not optimal, I can see, but not optimal. An accomodative spasm locks your eye in close sight focus mode. The depth of the room and the feeling of 3D vision is gone. You still can see, but your brain has to use brainpower to countercalculate that you are stuck in close vision. Not optimal and relaxing at all. And for the worst, opticians will try to sell you crazy wrong glasses since this form of eye spasm seems to be rare and it extends their limited medical knowledge.
What eventually helped was using atropine / atropin (0,5%) eye drops over a course of 2 weeks. One drop was enough to hinder/deactivate the accomodative muscle for 3-4 days. It basically is forced relaxation. If if I tried I can not focus on close things like my phone anymore. It is 100% blurry then. Usually on the 2nd day I would finally feel a real and noticable mechanic movement / shifting / relaxation of my eye muscles and the immediate warp back to 3D life and the ability to focus on things far away.
To check if you suffer from this condition, eye doctors use these exact drops (3 times in like 2 hours on both eyes) to complete deactivate accomodation. The values they then get for your glasses are the correct ones in a relaxed state.
Hope that helped anyone. Will update if I will ever be able to beat the spasm without using drops, since no exercise nor meditation strategies has every successfully released the spasm. Cheers.
EDIT4: Got computer glasses with +0,5 diopter on my regular far sight glasses (which have -1 so basically -0,5). It makes looking at bright screens way more bearable with less eye straining.
EDIT5: The computer glasses with inbuild blue light filter are still very helpful.
EDIT6 - 02.2024: I have added two more routines. First thing for me is to check my overall vision before doing this eye exercise. If the lines in the first segment of the videos do not appear "bolt" and "crisp" to me, I know my vision wrong. If so (which is actually the case in 99% of days) I begin with doing foam roal exercises on the ground targetting my lower-mid (not lower!) to upper back. Needless to say, I sounds like popping bubble wrap. Doing this exercise alone actually makes my vision shaper and creates the mentioned bolt lines. Based on that finding I have have come to the conclusion, that my vision problems might also be the result of crazy tensions in my back, neck and shoulders, probably due to years of gaming and unergonomical chairs and desks. I therefore bought - besides the foamroal - one of these ergonomic wobble chairs in addition to my long before aquired electric desk. Tried it out 3 days straight and a lot of tension in my back has gone. It now feels like weight and pressure has been lifted off my back.
Anyway. When finally doing this exercise I have to actively tell my brain, that the moving dont appear straight on the surface of the screen. Only by that my fking left eye finally decides to "focus" on the screen surface, making the lines more bolt by creating an overlapping in occardance with the picture my right eye provides.
Damn that’s crazy! Im glad that this helped you so much :D
I don't know what your eye condition is but if this for me silly looking Video has changed your life so much than i am very glad for you that this exists :)
Is that scanning mode you've been in a result of anxiety/trauma? Like, scanning for threats?
Damn I’m having an existential crisis because I’m learning I have whatever you’re talking about too. Watching this video did exactly what you described for me as well. I feel like I’ve been seeing in “scanning” mode my whole life, and my eyes feel strained trying to focus on everything clearly and 3d as you described. Does anyone know anything about this? Or what can help with the eye strain and making it easier to see clearly?
@@graceweston4795 I updated under EDIT3. Basically visit an eye doctor, explain the problem and ask for an eye glass prescription while your eyes have been dilated by the mentioned atropine drops. I need weak glasses for distant view, if you see overall cleary, you might just relieve the spasm.
I'll be uploading an aim guide with more information on this tomorrow
Thank you, good sirrah. 🙏🏻

@@camden666lifting weight and aim training is a placebo too i guess
You are comparing lifting smaller amounts of weight before trying larger amounts of weight, and training aim on dummies before shooting real players, to watching a dot move around your screen

Hey, this is actually a good eye exercise overall, for FPS or not. I could also suggest people to train with tennis ball, fixating gaze on it while it bounces, as well as catching it. It will also serve as a physical and reflex exercise
I like to do similar exercises to this when going for walks. I like to "track" various cars going by or anything that I catch moving really, or snapping my eyes from light to light, just picking random points of references to go between as I walk by. Makes it less boring, and keeps my vision sharp for games

Hey ottr, I play lots of Osu! and FPS games and I wanted to say this is INSANELY helpful for warming up to play Osu!, it even helps more for that than it does when i play FPS games, so sincerely thank you for showing me this. I give you a view every day :)
I should also say, If you have the resources to make a new version of this at half-speed in 60fps, it would actually play at 120fps when we set the speed to 2x on the video, maybe that could make this warmup even more helpful
i did it with 1,75x because i am a DT player who can read AR10.5+ xD
OSU! is the main reason I was able to get to Global Elite on csgo!
@@DJ_Dodatkowy_Chromosom I did it 2x no problem.

Thanks for uploading this as its own video! Been going back to the other video just for the eye tracking for a couple weeks straight now.

I started watching this everyday at x1.25 speed right before beginning my first match of whatever FPS I'm playing first that night. I am a Lazer. Enemy's have become a representation of a dot to me. Almost all peripheral vision, I can blank stare within a 3 square inch space on my monitor and just delete enemies. Try for yourself, don't get sweaty with it, stay calm and let your reflex and muscle memory build up.
Thanks, the verticle training broke my habit of using my body's "gyroscope" to aim but now i know to look at what im aiming
This made me realize that my tracking down is much better than my tracking up

It's because we're smartphone junkies.
I was going back to the previous video for almost 40 days now. Enjoyed the guides. It really helps
I watched in 2x speed and now I have a sharingan
Thanks,Otto been using this a few week’s and can really see the results
thank you for this, ive been struggling with watching my target instead of my crosshair/reticule but i think this will really help :D
Tysm ! I had trouble concentrating with my eyes but thanks to you it's going much better now
Ty Ottr! I think this exercise took my aiming to a whole new level. I have been hitting kovaaks consistently and are halfway to plat in voltaic benchmarks, and I do think I have decent aim in game. But after doing this, my target acquisition and weirdly enough trigger discipline has skyrocketed! Aiming has never felt this good!
THANKS OTTR!!! makes it so much more convenient having a separate vid with this
thank you for this. one of my eyes likes to drift sometimes, but after watching this regularly it doesn't drift as much.
by drifting, that might be lazy eye?
that's amblyopia. This type of exercise helps, but in my opinion exercises with physical objects (not on screen, so there is variable depth) helps better. Some exercises are as easy as just using fingers (usually these exercises involve a pen, but using a finger suffices)
@@volchonokilliR thank you for the info 🙏
@@whok-n-o-s-e you're welcome!
I found a video, which is a quick explanation on the topic and pretty much sums up the general important bits: czcams.com/video/tnLhDvhBFus/video.html
Knowing this you can even make up your own exercises, as the principle is to train the eye convergence. Note that this exercise can bring results immediately making your vision better for some time, but to really train yourself to actually always use both eyes exercise has to be done everyday

Ya see, the problem is...I focus on tracking the target then my ADHD kicks in and I start focusing on me focusing on the target leaving the act of focusing on my target 2nd in priority, then if I successfully am tracking I then notice I am successfully doing it and the thought of me acknowledging me noticing I am properly tracking then distracts me. ADHD in a nutshell, cheers.

I'm not kidding when I say after watching this once last night and once this morning before hopping in game, I was beaming people way more accurately than I ever do.
Its something I knew I did, but unfocusing eyes during fights and using my peripheral vision to aim was the biggest limitation to my aim. This is definitely going be my warmup every time.
I just tried this for the first time and instantly hit a high score on voltaic VT Plaza....holy shit it works
Last Sunday i startet to watch this Video every Day atleast once. I also made it to my Routine that i watch first this video and than going to the fireringrange and than playing Apex. Totally helpful with the black background and focus on flicks! my favorite so far are the green balls horizontal vertical and this one!
I like the ones with the singular object on a blank background, because with the lines and switching dots I don't trust myself not to anticipate the switch and already look at it

For those who play Valorant and has a problem with predicting where the dots go instead of following the dot:
Go to practice range and just set the bot to hard. Track the bots heads with your eyes and don't shoot, don't move, don't aim. You can also set Eliminate 50 and enable bots strafing, same as last time don't shoot, don't move, just track with your eyes.

I gotta say, for every adhd person from a nother, do this every day in the morning. It kidna sets your brain on a drive. For me personally setting the drive takes time in the morning. Can take 4-5h easily. With this in the first 30mins, i can set a drive fro my self and it helps a little in the morning tasks and also i type a lot faster.
turn it to 2x speed to match the tracking of a TTV wraith main
already did cause i am a wraith main 😈
am i supposed to use my real life eyes or am i supposed to use my mouse? 💀
This video made me realise that the reason why my aim sucks sometimes is surprisingly simple, it's because some days my eyes doesn't seem to focus on my opponent's heads. I've become a lot more consistent since. Thanks
This helped me out in my gaming aim so much !😊 I play to at 2x speed but you have to build up over weeks and months
Me being an osu player and still watching this.
probs be useful for osu tbh
Is it just me or does anyone else find the vertical tracking a LOT more difficult than the horizontal? The fast vertical I find impossible to keep up.
I know this is 5months old but, yes me too, I believe it could be because when you look at a monitor it’s wider than tall, and typically in life we see more things moving horizontally than vertical… But what do I know :)
Could also be that usually your targets/enemies usually move along the horizon more so you really don’t need to look up or down nearly as much
its because you are also using your wrist to track horizontally vs up/down is mostly done by your arm
I actually find the vertical tracking a lot easier.
This helped me on codm, thanks bro
You can also practice some hand-eye coordination by one simple addition - catch the focus with your mouse or predict your focus's movements with the mouse while still focusing upon it as-directed. I feel this would help out more with ARPG players, but it should be useful to all.
So how is this supposed to help me aim? Im better off just going to fragment and try to aim at those ttv bald wraiths
Tracking with your eyes. I'm no pro and this is just my opinion, but I feel like it's more beneficial to focus on one sense at a time. Practicing in the firing range is good for warmups but for being an overall better player I think it's best to focus on each sense individually, making it easier to find your flaws.
the white background strains my eyes more than anything :) gadamn.. so used to dark mode everything now
its like being flash-banged
I love eye tracking ASMR and i really enjoyed the gamer theme.
