Great Falls is such an dope place, with so many lines at all different water levels. Kayakers that live there year round still have lines they are looking for. Not only are there tons of lines to hit especially at these flows, it is about as easy to do laps as it gets, so you can get as much as you want! Getting some joy laps, then finishing it off with the Fish Ladder, such a good time. This is only the 2nd time I have been back here in 15 years, which realistically is not good enough, I definitely gotta get back here more!

Great Falls is Go Left and for real Die. Look at it at low water and you'll be terrified by how deep some of those pour overs and holes near the left bank are. You can tell that the force of the water there is insane by the way it has drilled the bedrock out. If I were still able to kayak, I'd definitely stick to the lines Dane was taking, and I wouldn't go near that left bank. There have been some very good and experienced boaters who have died there. Even the fish won't go there. The right side on the other hand...!!!!!
I was a new paddler back in the 90's and lost a online friend there. He was an up an comer and lived to paddle, way before the days of You tube, and he shared his paddling adventures in an online forum rec.boats.paddler if memory serves correctly. Scott Bristow...may he rest in peace. As far as I know they never found his body. Some scary undercuts in that stretch of river.
