I served a Mormon mission in Marseille for 8 months. Our apartment was just off of the rond point du prado on Boulevard Edouard Herriot litteraly a 2 minute walk from the stadium. If OM was playing we could hear the roar of the crowd when they scored at night it was incredible. As an American was my first taste of European football. Made me an OM fan and am a fan to this day. Great stuff.

@@luxomars4049 yes and then there is the politics as all three clubs' fanbases are considered as being far left winged, which would also be a connection. I mean look at St. Paulis other friendships. Celtic = far left. Bayern (Schickeria) = slightly to far left. Babelsberg = far left. Standard Liege = far left. Werder Bremen = slightly to far left. Hapoel Tel Aviv = far left. We're probably the only club with some left winged ultras groups they don't have a friendship or at least a link with, because we're city rivals and this rivalry actually started when we had a massive problem with right winged hools. Do they also have links with Omonia, Rayo and Livorno? That wouldn't surprise anyone I guess

As Marseille fan, since 1999, I miss our old Veledrome, it gave us that Mediterranien hint, with sun hitting on our south and north fan base. Even there is no results, a fan base and that Stadium is what made me a Marseille fan. It is UNIQUE. Salute from Bosnia.

I'm not French but I have to say I like both PSG and OM. both have very beautiful stadiums in very attractive cities. both have history despite many say PSG are made of money which is not true. PSG was a OK club until money came, they where playing Champions League and UEFA Cup Group games almost every year and had some good players without spending tons of money. now, with new owners, they became a super power but unfortunately that's how football works nowadays. this happened to literally every Premier League Club aswell. every big name in football has a rich owner nowadays who had no interest in football but in profits when he took over the club.
While you are absolutely right, Qatar's investment in PSG is a political move to reach more investments and pro-qatar political lobbying in France. The club is owned by the Emir himself.
