Apparently James Anderson isn't the quickest of bowlers but his talent is he can make the ball swing close to the batsman causing uncertainty for the batsman.
My first ever cricket match was in the IPL - watched Dale Steyn take the first over, and was actually lost for words, on how fast he is. He got Dravid bowled on the 3rd ball by the way. The crowd went mad. Great time. I could only imagine what it would be like, watching the Ashes live.
I haven't watched the Ashes live, but I watched a Boxing day test between Pakistan and Australia and it was unbelievable, so thrilling, I think Pakistan were bowling first and it was so fun to watch, that was when they were really good a few years ago and so were Australia so it was a really thrilling match, plus the crowd was awesome.
omg the batsman who were training had the worst technique, a three year old would've been more suited. Even the last guy looked a little flawed but much better than the others
CZcams Only Well, the kind of batsmen that were in the trials, are i would say 5th or 6th grade club cricket batsmen. But i myself play 3rd grade and was about to play sub-district for Preston, but i came for the trials too late, they had already picked the team.
having played cricket all the time up to about age 16/17, and not playing since then albeit sparingly for the last 10/12 years, it would be really nice to face a world class bowler at least once in my lifetime...
Cricket looks Easy.. until you face a 135kph+ bowler.. When i faced A Fast bowler In My life for the First time I thought yeah It would be easy.. The Bowl was clocked at 138kph and Just went past my Face ... I literally Skipped a HeartBeat at that very moment.. And what makes Cricket Brutal is U can Hit any Part of Body unlike Baseball.
Well, facing a pace ball for the first time is hard, specially if its 138 kmph. But dude, you have your bat, your necessary guards or if you're playing with a tennis ball, you simply don't need guards. You won't get hurt. So, don't worry about getting hurt. Get your body behind the ball and defend yourself with the bat. No need to fear the fast balls and you're all set. I follow these exact steps while facing a fast ball, and I never gave my wicket away to a fast ball.
A lot of drama but credit to the batsman. An amateur facing a pro is daunting, especially in front of a crowd and the light didn't look great. A lot of the shots looked to come off the edge rather than the middle. Jimmy also seemed to be bowling for tests, aim at the stumps man!
Kudos to the batsman, Anderson is hard to pick in broad daylight and here they are playing in some underground bunker with a bunch of people screaming no more than 5 feet away under bad lights and a smoke screen.
one of the world's quickest?.... hes not in the top 10 in terms of pace but accuracy and swing hes one of the best. doesn't get above 85mph often tho so to call him one of the world's quickest is wrong.
This guy would be at least a 2nd if not 1st grade, most 1st graders face decent fast bowling every week. Solid enough technique to me.The others were clearly 4th or 5th grade, couldnt even stay in front of the stumps some of them.
I did it for real 12 months before he played for England. Ramsbottom V Burnley for several overs. To be fair he did have a yard of pace and hit the bat although no swing that day as I recall
Honestly guys, Tendulkar made ot look so easy to upper cut a 151kmph boucer from Lee and Dhoni made a swing that looked a lot simpler to send a yorker ball off Clint McCoy clearing the Adelaide oval for a whopping 112m six. And I'm here unable to clear my 30m backyard for a 60kmph stumper ball, thinking that I can bat like Sachin or bowl like Anderson
Indoor synthetic turf, I can face him! I used to face much more quicker bowlers in Bangladesh. Problem for them was, they were all hell of chuckers. Cricket committee would not ban them,as they were in good connections
Watch those batsman stepping backwards in the nets - always the biggest mistake village players make when they come against someone who is genuinely quick. Best way to get over this is to push your back foot across the crease a little - even if you're nervous, once you start going in that direction, you can't go back and you will have to get in line and play.
All of those saying that it would have been a better test to have done this outside where the ball can swing more speak the truth. But the artificial light inside (Plus the fact the guy had to wear a helmet) would have disadvantaged the batsman just as much.
@@guyosborn615 Why would anyone be jealous? Anderson is a good bowler. I personally wouldn't pick him if I was selecting a side. For me, there are better quicks who perform more consistently away from home, better average, better strike rate, for me just better bowlers. McGrath and Styne are two more recent ones that come to mind. It only took him 21 more test matches to beat McGrath by 2 wickets. Hahah! czcams.com/video/6ge3LPjChcM/video.html
Wearing whites and bowling a white ball. With smoke machines going. What the fuck did I just watch
An amusing advert.
bartonez123 lol
Fair play to the lad. Unlike most international batsmen he had to deal with picking the ball out through the mist as well.
It’s fake
The fucking drama is a bit over the top
Drama sells. :-)
Its a bloody advert.

the drama was really unnecessary

U said it all man
Apparently James Anderson isn't the quickest of bowlers but his talent is he can make the ball swing close to the batsman causing uncertainty for the batsman.
83-88mph is rapidly quick to face for anyone who isn't at elite international level
If I'd survived an over from Jimmy Anderson, I'd want something a bit better than a pint of crappy Strongbow, that's for sure.
I'd like a nice cup of tea.
I'd need one! And something calming to smoke.
I'd have a JD and coke.
Nah
🤣 I'd of been less disappointed with a glass of swamp water
who's this ramesh guy clocking 89mph
Abid Hussain faster than Jimmy lol
Ramesh Subasinghe...played 1st Class in Sri Lanka and league cricket in England.
My cricket coach you runt
Runeman40055 Matthew wade is quicker than him and he is a shit keeper
Abid Hussain ..
'One of the world's fastest bowlers'. Rightttttt.
Well... he is
He's a 80 mph dobber who touches 85 on good days. So, yeah nah.
Ashish singh he probably was at the time when this commercial was made
he is bro..."fast bowling" is anywhere between 85mph-95mph. James Anderson averages high 80s 87-90 so he is a fast bowler just not the fastest
@@anubisgod23, so the statement that "he is one of the fastest bowlers in the world" still remains false in Jimmy's case.
I good advert concept would have been much better with someone a bit quicker, like Moen Ali for instance.
Dave Ross 😂😂😂😂😂

Dave Ross haha that made me laugh bro

One of the world's quickest? Bullshit.
Yeah, I'm not sure about that either.
Benjamin Outhwaite not the quickest but definitely king of swing. he is a world class bowler man. cmon.
They missed out Stark, Wahab Riaz, Johnson, etc. Not to mention the fastest from few years back Akhtar....I wonder how it will be to face him..
A frustrated aussi spotted.
He is, and easily England's greatest fast bowler
Would had been a better challenge if he faced Andersen in the open. It doesn't swing much indoors.
I guess they had to make an ad out of it right
And better if Anderson had pitched a couple of short deliveries, shook him up a little.
To be fair to the batsman, artificial turf is generally faster and bouncier than grass though.
Wow what a great gesture from Jimmy and Pete u lucky one mate
"One of the quickest bowlers in the world" ??!!!!! Wtf
Runeman40055 ha ha hii
LOL!😆😆😆
he is the best 657 wickets.
he need not be the quicket..
Had the director never seen cricket before?

Didn't the video look different from what you thought it was gonna be?
Being English I admit that he is one of the best bowlers in the world not one of the fastest
he is indeed one of the premium fast bowlers in the world...quick and swings it both ways..thanks for this upload...enjoyed it :)
Hi joy, how are the perfumes
THE premier fast bowler
Nice video. Wish I could get such an opportunity but I'm worse batsman than I'm a Bowler & I'm a terrible Bowler.
Anderson easily the best swing bowler currently playing
Try facing the real king of swing (Wasim Akram)in his prime....or Dale Steyn.. !
what's the background music that starts at 0:42 ?
thanks :-)
yes, very clever - you got me
calm down people, this is just a commercial

Outside England he's below average and the stats prove it
And I would love to play against B Kumar. I love his swing....
Get Shoaib akhtar, Bret Lee or Tait to bowl 95mph plus
Yeap, and they have the record quick bowler record
Wow his swing is superb

Carpet over a concrete slab, no swing because no moisture coming up from the ground. Straight up and down, he'd be much harder to face on turf.
What quickest bowler? He is not one of the quickest bowler , he is a premier fast medium bowler and certainly a great great bowler
It was hard to see with all the quick camera angle changes, but it looks like the batsman would have been caught in the slips twice.
Anderson is low to mid 80's, there's plenty of club cricketers at that pace.
who was the practise bowler?
Dale Steyn would have been a much harder test
Looked like straight up and down medium pace to me. Even with the editing and the silly music. Well done the batsman for keeping his cool.

Just outside the off stump.
Damn he's fast.
Great entertainment. Well done to all.
Loved it..
This was actually and Advertisment ?!?!? 🔥🔥🔥

why they're showing a short movie...

yup but some people aren't getting this it seems

Ramesh is better than all the Indian bowlers...We need Ramesh in the team! ASAP!
@2:56 no ball
