Add Months or Years to a Date in Excel (Easy Formula)

- In this short video, I will show you how to add months to a date in Excel (or add years to a date in Excel).
This is made possible because of the in-built EDATE formula, which takes the start date and the number of months you want to add, and gives the resulting date.

hi it works on all formats of date ? I am trying it with 31/12/2021 format it does not give result
This formula doesn't work for me because I think Excel auto-formats any start date I try and put in as a numerical value and I can't get it to treat it like an actual date, so it spits out something like this: "16 July 2021" and it autoformats to "16-Jul-21" and when I do the =EDATE formula and add "5.5" under months added to it, it outputs this bogus number of "44561". Can someone explain how to fix this?

Hellow Sumit, Im not familiar with excel so Whenever I tried to add hour to date and time it didn’t worked properly . eg- col A2 Taken time 25 hours Col B2 Start Date and Time ( 11/May/2022 18:30 ) in Col C2 I want a result Finished date and Time (12/May/2022 18:30). Inbuilt formula did work until 23 hrs after 24 hrs calculate only time but date remains same. Can you help me to figure out this? Please.
