What’s really depressing is that Germany will learn from this period and come back stronger to win trophies. England, however, will learn no such lessons and just repeat the cycle.
After the display vs Portugal, perhapa the problem was not so big after all? New talents are merging in well, have enormous energy going forward and solid in defense, with the helping of experience and mentality from old players called back like Müller and Kimmich.
Löw’s style of management seems to have suited the past generation of players he won a World Cup with a lot better than it suits this current one. And they are quite different groups of players. I think Flick will do a great job.
I believe that Niclas Sule is a promising Fullback. However, I didnt' see Lowe let him develop by playing beside Mat Hummels. Instead Rudiger was chosen. Moreover, Germany has been lacking a target man. (like Lewandowski)
I think competition helps a lot. Knowing your place isn't permanent keeps players on toes and what Low did was the complete opposite. Sure they were getting older but they still had their A-game on.
Is there really a lack of quality in defence? Gosens was great with Atalanta, Rüdiger did well in the Champions League, Hummels had a good season and we all know Kimmich is great. Seems more like a lack of depth, with few quality back-ups
I'm no football expert but really, why in the world would you remove 3 of your best players, at the top of their form, from your squad to make room for "youngsters". It's very odd to me
I see you forgot Mario Gomez. He did A LOT for them in France and Russia. The only game they lost in France, Gomez was injured. In Russia, even though he only ever was a sub, he was involved in most of the goals.
Pretty simple: When you have the best double six in the world with goretzka and kimmich but instead kroos and gündogan playin double six... When you have with ridle baku a great player on the right full back position but instead of include him to the squad you to let him play the u21 ec tournament... ...then you really don't have to ask what's wrong because everyone know what's wrong. -------------------- Neuer ---------------- Baku -- Ginter -- Süle -- Gosens ------ Goretzka ----- Kimmich ---- --- Sane --- Havertz -- Gnabry -- ------------------- Müller ---------------- If löw decide to play in that formation they could beat everyone but hey instead of winning the tournament löw decide to get eliminated in the group stage... up to him by the way kimmich was central midfielder all his career only for a short period at bayern he played right wing back but it's not his original position.
I think what happened to Low is that he felt sad about the situation of mesut ozil the way he was treated by the German federation and the lack of support from his team mates .
Hummels return to the team has definitely been crucial, he just scored an own goal to give France the win. Expect Germany to finish bottom of group. Probably wont score a single goal. Sad
that advert was memorable . but if you want to get that 1.5 sub level get yourself HARRY MACK!! TO do the adverts. CONGRATS ON THE 1mil keep up the good work
Germany are in desperate need of a more creative midefield (especially with their style of play, similar to ozil), only kroos and muller is not enough. Havertz is either shy or just lazy idk. They also need a more clinical striker(similar to mario gomez, klose, or podolski). Overall they are still a very strong team though.
I think they'll surprise a lot of people. The squad is absolutely stacked, they just need better tactics and a proper striker. Hopefully Volland can fill that role somewhat, because Müller, a world class player he is, is not a true striker. They beat France tomorrow and everything changes.
The German’s cycle of world class players have ended, just like in 2006 when most were shocked that they reached the semi finals. Every country goes through this especially when the midfielders aren’t being produced to the same level. Although it may be coincidental, their top talent drought has coincided with Schalke 04’s downturn and their academy was the producers of Neuer, Gundogan, Draxler, Ozil and Sane.
@@denimkh9932 look at the 2014 World Cup winning midfielders in that squad and then compare them to today contemporaries …other then Havertz, they are either less talented or just the remanence of the previous generation like Kroos and Gündoğan.
@@denimkh9932 great players but not on the same level as prime Ozil, Schweinsteiger, Khedira, Müller, Kroos, Götze. Gündoğan didn’t even travel to Brazil in 2014 and they still dominated.
The midfielders are not the problem. Actually, it is the position where we have our best players. Kroos, Müller and Gündogan are old, but Kimmich and Goretzka are a world class team for Bayern and they are nearly at their peak! While there are still young and talented players like Havertz and Neuhaus (linked to Bayern, Pool and Real) and young players like Musiala (just turned 18 and has the reputation of being Müllers heir) or Florian Wirtz (one of the best players of the u21 euro cup, one month earlier), wo also turned 18, just 1 month ago, while scoring 16 times, this season!
I think one of their main issues is that they play so wide while having Kroos and gundogan in their midfield. Also in possession Kroos plays in slow motion which allows defending teams to set up and coordinate their press.
The problem everyone else ignores: Thomas Müller is at 12 European Championship Games, 0 Goals and 1 Assist. He scored his last relevant goal for Germany during the 7:1 destruction of Brazil in 2014! That was 7 years ago. He had 0 Goals during the Euros in France, the World Cup in Russia and the Nations League... But he is supposed to be the savior, while the best players are Gündogan, Kimmich, Goretzka and Kroos. But you can't play all 4 of them in a central role, when Müller is playing as the 10 (or false 9), a role which Gündogan played a lot for Man City this year....
I'm part Portuguese but I'll wager that Germany has a better chance than Portugal of stunning France when they meet. That balance of grit, flair and being able to finish opportunities.
I think a National Coach should never put his ideology and tactics before the natural roles and talents of the players he has available. With his 3-4-3 nonsense almost every player seems to be underperforming. Kimmich excels playing in the middle controlling the pace of the game, yet Low sacrifices him as a winger. Hummels has consolidated himself as a 4-men-defense center back, and Low is exposing his weaknesses with this formation. Muller is forced to play compressed against the sideline, going totally against his positional and free roaming skills. I could go on but you get the point: put the players on the pitch where they can play their best game. I would use a 4-3-3 formation with Muller roaming free as a false 9, or maybe he could play as an unconventional AMF with two forwards, simply because they have great players to play that way. Put Kimmich in the middle. And for Odin's sake don't keep Sule on the bench.
I mean it seems pretty obvious. They lost their tactician in Flick, who fortunately is coming back as the manager after leading Bayern to the treble. Not to mention almost every country in the world wishes that a World Cup group stage and a Euro R16 exit was their down years.
It's shocking to See how German Managers ( Klopp , Nagelsmann , Tuchel , Hansi Flick ,etc) are killing it in League football but how German Players are struggling !!
@@thedude4k Ginter at rb? We don’t have proper fullbacks tbh, we need to use a back five. A 5-2-2-1 (which is coincidentally the same formation I want Chelsea to use) could help massively with our squad. Also, what about Werner up rip?

2:58 Internet Historian surprise cameo
that outro is something else 😂😅🎉
True
Not taking Leroy Sane to Russia 2018 was a massive selection error.
Possibly the best outro/ad ever
The same thing that happens to all great teams. They’re ageing and it’ll take time for them to produce great young players again.
What’s really depressing is that Germany will learn from this period and come back stronger to win trophies. England, however, will learn no such lessons and just repeat the cycle.
3:05 haha I know that old guy
I was waiting for the outro😂😂great journalism
Germany arrived in Russia with a certain arrogance... Hmm where have I heard that before
well Germans weren't the only one... Napoleon. But France won the WC in Russia.
someone ought to make a video why the Polish national team keeps under performing despite a strong roster
Who is here after they lost 1-0 to France?
A year later and the German team have gone out at the group stage of a World Cup AGAIN!
You guys better subscribe to the athletic after that magnificent outro song.
Congrats tifo for hitting 1mil.
I believe that Niclas Sule is a promising Fullback. However, I didnt' see Lowe let him develop by playing beside Mat Hummels. Instead Rudiger was chosen. Moreover, Germany has been lacking a target man. (like Lewandowski)
Not the only time Germany have been been vulnerable against counter attacks
Because thr isn't coach uses wron g tactics
Are you talking about WW2?
@@mikailconstantbilyamin1832 Stalingrad
I think competition helps a lot. Knowing your place isn't permanent keeps players on toes and what Low did was the complete opposite. Sure they were getting older but they still had their A-game on.
I watch these videos only for the outro. It is super amazing.
0:33 I laughed at the ball rolling so hard 🤣🤣🤣
Why
Why
Why tho
Lame guy
😐
Is there really a lack of quality in defence? Gosens was great with Atalanta, Rüdiger did well in the Champions League, Hummels had a good season and we all know Kimmich is great. Seems more like a lack of depth, with few quality back-ups
I'm no football expert but really, why in the world would you remove 3 of your best players, at the top of their form, from your squad to make room for "youngsters". It's very odd to me
Congrats on 1M guys!!
I see you forgot Mario Gomez. He did A LOT for them in France and Russia. The only game they lost in France, Gomez was injured. In Russia, even though he only ever was a sub, he was involved in most of the goals.
Congratulations on 1 million subs!
Can you guys do a segment on how you think Fonseca will setup in England, at Spurs?
Guess that's not happening now
Pretty simple:
When you have the best double six in the world with goretzka and kimmich but instead kroos and gündogan playin double six...
When you have with ridle baku a great player on the right full back position but instead of include him to the squad you to let him play the u21 ec tournament...
...then you really don't have to ask what's wrong because everyone know what's wrong.
-------------------- Neuer ----------------
Baku -- Ginter -- Süle -- Gosens
------ Goretzka ----- Kimmich ----
--- Sane --- Havertz -- Gnabry --
------------------- Müller ----------------
If löw decide to play in that formation they could beat everyone but hey instead of winning the tournament löw decide to get eliminated in the group stage... up to him
by the way kimmich was central midfielder all his career only for a short period at bayern he played right wing back but it's not his original position.
I think what happened to Low is that he felt sad about the situation of mesut ozil the way he was treated by the German federation and the lack of support from his team mates .
what a add😂🔥congrats on 1mil deserve even more🙌
Hummels return to the team has definitely been crucial, he just scored an own goal to give France the win. Expect Germany to finish bottom of group. Probably wont score a single goal. Sad
@@thedude4k süle is the real fraud. He should have called up Boateng.
That's a nice joke they might not make it out of the group but they will beat Hungary easily
that advert was memorable . but if you want to get that 1.5 sub level get yourself HARRY MACK!!
Germany out, and they still have same problem 🤬
Joachim's performance has been...low lately

There's a good chance they go home at the Round of 16

What a fall from grace for Gotze. He may have been a superstar had he not left Dortmund for Bayern
Loved that Ending... Soo good
They good just doesn't have proper number 9 also the attacking ability is absolutely shocking defence and midfielder is world class for me
Outro was amazing
Came for the video, smiled for that outro.
I was so surprised with that outro, so pleasantly surprised
I think they'll surprise a lot of people. The squad is absolutely stacked, they just need better tactics and a proper striker. Hopefully Volland can fill that role somewhat, because Müller, a world class player he is, is not a true striker. They beat France tomorrow and everything changes.
True that
The German’s cycle of world class players have ended, just like in 2006 when most were shocked that they reached the semi finals.
Every country goes through this especially when the midfielders aren’t being produced to the same level. Although it may be coincidental, their top talent drought has coincided with Schalke 04’s downturn and their academy was the producers of Neuer, Gundogan, Draxler, Ozil and Sane.
How are the midfielders noon the same level
They literly have the best mid itw
@@denimkh9932 look at the 2014 World Cup winning midfielders in that squad and then compare them to today contemporaries …other then Havertz, they are either less talented or just the remanence of the previous generation like Kroos and Gündoğan.
@@btb3614 kimmich? Goretzka?
Almost guaranteed they’ll beat France now
About that ...

@@kurtpunchesthings2411 true
I love this outro!!
Well it all started back after Prussia dissolved, then a man from Austria was born.
He was not a man; He was a monster.
Prussia still exist during Weimar days, albeit only as free state with dissolved monarchy
Fast forward to hummels scoring an own goal at their opening euro game
The curse of killing an 🐙. 🥴

The outro is pure money.
You guys forgot to mention the shameful way Ozil was singled out as the main problem with the loss of Germany in the world cup
Old defence but young attack
These special outros are like that extra minute of game time when someone scores, good times
Didn't Germany win the Conference cup in 2017 with the Youngest squad, under Low ?
Yeah Germany won the 2017 confederation cup but after a year decisive Downfall comes.

@@thedude4k Ginter at rb? We don’t have proper fullbacks tbh, we need to use a back five. A 5-2-2-1 (which is coincidentally the same formation I want Chelsea to use) could help massively with our squad. Also, what about Werner up rip?
@@thedude4k I’d say our team should be 3-2-2-2-1 with a 3ATB, CMs wide players, CAMs, and ST.
