easily one of Johns best live solos. It's friggin perfect. The SRV controlled agression with that buttery driven tone can't get any better. I keep coming back to this every few months in hopes of replenishing my dreams of getting even remotely close to the state of flow John gets into during his solo. Lost for words each time
That “damn, son” smile at 5:49 always gets me. (I never comment on anything but I’m sad all the comments are gone, I’m glad this got uploaded again so we still get access to this incredible performance, thank you.)
man....the slide guitar and who ever edited this was sadly a cacophony. Even in the last few seconds it was almost if he dueled with John. Cool vid but man...the slide guy had no self awareness...maybe because he was older and probably playing on the biggest (actually) stage of his life he went after it...I conjecture but it is def plausible! Anyone else hear this?
The “slide guy” is Robbie MacIntyre, he’s a legend and a MASTER slide player, his work on this song combining his slide work with delays and reverbs is absolutely TOP NOTCH. His parts at end are exactly what the song calls for. You’ve now been educated, go and make better comments in the future.
educated? If telling me someone's name is education....I don't know what information looks like to you. It doesn't matter how" legendary," you think he is. My opinion is my opinion. I did say I "conjecture," so yeah...there you go. Anywho, it ruined it for me toward the end. There, you've now been educated on opinions, go respond better to opinions! @@aaronpew3717
wow what an incredibly stupid comment. Idk what you thought you heard, but maybe you need your ears cleaned or something Robbie has played hundreds and hundreds of shows with John, and on many bigger stages than this one. John keeps him around for a reason, he's an amazing player, and they have a great connection on stage.
John goes into a “trance” playing his solo! He is an alien from another planet!!!!

John Mayer um génio da guitarra. Imbatível.

Grande mayer, uno de los grandes musicos de esta era..
best performance of this song ever. Surreal!!!
Why was original taken down? It had like 2m + views
Apparently the Crossroads copyright team is on a killing spree. The City Love at Crossroads 04 video is also down.
@@theotortelli loved that video. Shame:(

@@theotortellithat video is sick !

@@PedrooFerroo it's from crossroads 2007 DVD
Starting at 5:09 that slide guitar made me 🥹🥰🥵
And the look of endearment/endorsement he gives John at 5:50, after John's solo. Such great guitarists.
Take some notes

@@aaronpew3717 Robbie McIntosh*
Robbie McIntosh toured with McCartney for many years…as in Paul McCartney. So I think he has probably played a few big stages in his career. Sorry.
