There's deer upon the mountain, There's sheep along the glen, The forests hum with feather, But where are now the men? Here's but my mother's garden Where soft the footsteps fall, My folk are quite forgotten, But the nettle's over all. The friends are all departed, The hearth-stone is black and cold, And sturdy grows the nettle On the place beloved of old. O! black might be that ruin Where my fathers dwelt so long, And nothing hide the shame of it, The ugliness and wrong; The cabar and the corner-stone Might bleach in wind and rains, But for the gentle nettle That took such a courtier's pains. The friends are all departed, The hearth-stone is black and cold, And sturdy grows the nettle On the place beloved of old.
Man this song always brings me to tears and feel moved but also angry. You can sense the life he tries to evoke it seems pre-christinaity. Its beautiful with its soundscapes and atmosphere.
Absolutely beautiful. I remember having Roots, Aura and Guardians on repeat while vacationing in the Scottish Highlands. It was the best most immersive experience ever. I wish to do it again one day. I simply cannot die before visiting Scotland at least once more.
@@SchlongLicker8000 Jaako is a Finnish name. I will say to both you and Big Piper you misread my comment completely. Stunning. Atmospheric, powerful and with a beautiful touching mood. Marshall never disappoints, this is such an awesome project, truly deserves all the best! Waiting for the whole album even more than before now, slainthe!
This is soo deep. I got here from Rivers of Nihil. As a musician i appreciate this double foot drum and technical death metal backing to this crisp top up with melodic sound. Regards from Poland!
I thought Saor had peaked with Aura. Pillars of the Earth is one of the most intense and awe-inspiring songs I've had the pleasure to listen to. This though, this is on another level. 8:19 of utter perfection!

Hey just a comment passing by to say that I'm a great fan of Unreqvited! Actually one of the few bands I fell in love with on the first time listening. "Mosaic I: l'amour et l'ardeur" is an absolute masterpiece!!
I listen to your music since Disquiet. This album was one of my favorites soundtracks during the time I lived in Canada, in the city of Winnipeg; great time that don't come back! Your evolution is touchable and the last album is great as well. Thank you for your art.
Came across this by sheer accident, and I am left utterly speechless. Beautiful musically and visually. I am definitely going to deep dive this band. Hails from Hawaii!!!
As a black medal drummer I love the feeling and flow of this song makes playing it awesome feel the vibe rocketing throughout your body keep up the great work saor :)
This music, this drums, and gods of metal ; this voices !!!!! Amazing!! I can't find the words to explain my feelings...but at the Third listening C'est absolument tout ce que j'aime dans le BM atmosphérique, l'atmosphère, la légèreté des mélodies, la puissance de la musique et la profondeur de la voix. Can’t believe that this song doesn’t have more than 100k by now. Beautiful track, especially since I don’t listen to black metal that much. The album is amazing as well, good luck with the future.
Incredible song, beautiful video. I've got to be honest, there were doubts in my mind of how on earth it would be possible to reach the lofty heights of ''Guardians''. I can safely say that those doubts have now been driven out far far away, and i cannot wait for the full album or thank you enough for such stunning music! (The full length version of this track - the one on bandcamp - flows even better).

I showed this to my 16-17-year-old students in class. They were focused on it as ever. Sort of proud for doing that.
if you convinced even one of them to explore this music, you've done the world a favor!
