    • @the_letter_b
      @the_letter_b Před 5 lety +29

      @@ProphetNewYork NYC supposedly has more homeless but enough shelters for most who meet the criteria. LA doesn't have enough shelters and is way too lax on their bad behavior. NYC doesn't allow tents and I imagine the NYPD wouldn't tolerate hard drug use in areas with heavy foot traffic. I've never seen a syringe on the street or felt the need to look out for them. Also, NYC's poverty is concentrated in public housing complexes, with the rougher ones being north of central park and in the boroughs, and those in poverty not qualifying for public housing living deeper in the boroughs where it does look much more run down and unsafe.

    • @ProphetNewYork

      B yeah that’s what i suspected. there’s tons of tents in LA so it seems like there’s more homeless i guess. just living in manhattan , brooklyn and long island, i’ve never seen as much as out here. i just knew them for living in shelters and the public housing areas

    I live bi-coastally in West Hollywood and Manhatten’s Upper West Side, for the last 17 years. I must say that living in the two cities feels like a shared custody between mom and dad. New York is like a father with right angles, expecting results, stern and calculated. LA is like a mother, with rolling curves, scenic beauty, compassion and gentleness. I really can’t imagine one without the other. I WILL say that the quality of life is healthier and more fit for happiness and sustainability in LA. I mean, there’s a reason New Yorkers retire in Florida, right?

    • @alicen2610
      @alicen2610 Před 6 lety +17

      NYC is the best city in the US and arguably one of the best in the world for the full-on urban, dense living experience and the aesthetic and vibe associated with that. That said, actually living there long term (and also not part-time) is a different matter. You're right. Many also leave for LA more than the other way around lately. A major factor is the cost of living and what you get for it and of course the weather. I think another factor is just feeling overwhelmed by the tall buildings, crowds, and noise. You may be able to escape it a bit living in the boroughs, but you'll most likely have to work in noisy, overcrowded Manhattan 5 days a week.

I will admit California has better mexican food, but in Texas I think we do it better. When I visited California, it was dry and hot just like Texas, and everything was dried up from the drought. The only nice part was the beaches, which I will also admit are better than the ones in Texas, which have tons of horseshit and condoms on the sand. However, Northern California was just beautiful, and I liked it way more than Southern California (especially L.A.)

    New York nightlife is far better than LA. LA is all about house parties, but the club scene is nearly non-existent. I was shocked when I moved out West and how early the clubs shut down. In NYC you get to the club at 12 AM. In LA some of them are already shutting down at 12!

    • @alicen2610
      @alicen2610 Před 6 lety +16

      Clubs are expensive, way too noisy, and overcrowded and some have a bunch of criteria you have to match or the person at the door won't let you in, or they may just randomly decide that. The only problem with house parties is you have to have a good social network before you start getting invited. Also, people may be more open about doing drugs that they'd be more private about in a club, which is great if you're into that but awkward and off putting if you're not.

      My dad lived in Los Angeles for like 20 years while he was acting and modeling. He visited New York City for a while during a singing competition their, and he said it was way filthier, more crowded, and noisier than LA. Los Angeles is nice and open ans spread out.
      And New York fashion is UGLY. They wear these ugly loud colors, and they all try to look different. In Los Angeles, everyone is much classier, and they wear really laid back beautiful clothing. I much prefer West Coast styles.
      And the music industry is primarily in Los Angeles today. The modern movie industry is all in Los Angeles. Why do you think almost every wealthy and famous person chooses to move to LA and not NYC? Even CZcamsrs go to LA. Palm trees, big open roads, extreme wealth in many neighbourhoods, world class food, cheaper than NYC, everyone has a nice yard, cars, fame. It's the city of dreams. It's literally "la la land".

With the red rocks in Sedona, the Grand Canyon, the clear and turquoise blue water in Supai Falls, Monument Valley, the San Fransisco Peaks, and the unique flora that the Sonoran desert offers, Arizona is a beautiful state. Don't forget about the sunsets and the amazing winters. We also have pine forests and grasslands. It's also very close to LA and Las Vegas.

That's fine if you're a parent or at least already married but if you're single and want more dating options than the locals in your area, you have to move somewhere closer and then you'll be paying a lot like everyone else. If you work in Manhattan, your daily commutes will be longer as well with a higher chance you'll run into problems along the way.

    I‘m from LA and have been living here for 20+ years; however, I do admire NY’s convenient public transportation system(In LA, there is no other choice besides driving your car and traffic congestion here is sucks, yes you can take the Metro but the public transportation here is just sucks and falls way way behind other major cities in the developed countries) and by living in NY, you can really get a feel of living in a modern world economic and fashion metropolis as opposed to the laid-back and slower paced life in LA. Also, NY is closer to Europe, with only a few hours away by plane you can get to London, Milan and Paris.
    The best thing about LA is diversity, you can really get a taste of different cultures and foods here(often at a very fair price). And also for people who love slower-paced life and friendly communities, LA may be a great choice.

    not a very well put together video. L.A. doesn't have culture or history??? FYI Disneyland is in O.C. they left out the Hip Hop culture NY has to offer. L.A. is the Mecca of car culture besides Japan. Skateboarding, BMX, lowriders, slang, clothing, food, Levi's, suffering (aside from HI) and art just to name a few things were left out.

      L.A. is the Mecca of car culture behind JAPAN? First off, Detroit and Europe have more automobile culture than EITHER of those two places...

      Pssh, hip hop culture came from Los Angeles. Pop locking which you New Yorkers stole from us, is from Los Angeles. Graffiti started in Los Angeles with gang graffiti predating anything in New York.

      Yes, Mr. Ignorant Uninformed fool! Many of the aspects that ignorant people who only watch MTV and the media associate with hip hop actually started in Los Angeles, like pop locking, the oldest form of break dancing. Graffiti also started in Los Angeles, gang graffiti predates anything in New York. Calo is a form of Mexican-American slang and rhyme style that New York hip hoppers stole from Chicanos.
