Ha no way. I have one step down (elear) from the headphones you want to buy. I would say 100% go for it if the opportunity happen to arise. The elear sound perfect and the clear sound even better (you can literally drive them on a phone too which it insane for headphones of that caliber). The focal elear alone destroys the airpods. The clear would shred them.
Can you suggest me a headphone which sounds more clearer and mid range and track separation is very decent and close to airpods max's, and i don't care about features, im just wanting to have a good sound quality which can be used in a quiet place for listening soothing songs.đ

I was only able to reproduce the lows with a subwoofer. idk what headphone you are using, but I think most couldnât do it.

@@peterwanć°P $22 on clearance at Walmart, Anker Soundcore Life dot 2 reproduced the lows in all of demos just fine without distortion.
@@jalofanclub no distortion doesn't mean full reproduction. but I think that is possible since these are Active noise-cancelling headphones, not regular headphones which are much cheaper to make.

At last. An audiophile review who talks about metal. Iâm also an audio engineer and your review was the most helpful by far. Those super famous youtubers donât know what they are talking about when they talk about sound. And most of them say. Iâm not an audiophile but it sounds greats. So how can someone judge 550$ đ§ without actually knowing about sound and without covering all kinds of music. Thumbs up for your review
I mainly listen to black metal and it's so hard to find infos about headphones that could be good for this kind of music. I'm not a sound engineer but everytime I go to a store to try headphones (with high def files) I just hate what I'm hearing. I really want to buy a very good high definition portable player and a descent headphones but I've been postponing that for the past 10 or 15 years or so because I never put a headphone on my ears and said "sound is great, I'm feeling the music".
Stuck with phones and ipod classic, a Plantronics bbpro2 and mp3s...
@@REMY.C. if you are listening to extreme metal give Sonyâs MX4s a try. It amazed me on how well they handled the bass. They placed it right in the middle and it sounded tight and clean. Also I remember that the instruments separation was very good. You can also adjust the sound to your liking with the EQ if they sound a bit bass heavy to you. But try to test them with some good, modern black metal productions. If you test them with old school 90s black metal where the production was not that good at that time (for black metal at least), the headphones alone wonât make wonders.

Yeah I generally test with both good and modern productions (BM that combines sharp and "precise music" like classical) and also old ones. Most of the time it's like you said, too much bass, vocals not clear enough and an overall impression of ... How can I say it... Lack of sound clarity and precision, like when you're outside a nightclub and still hear the music, it's "muddy".
@@JimZarasOfficial i have sony xm3. I modified xm3 to eliminate the bass. Most people who likes bass are not actually music literate. Most are like party goers and they love this "bass" thingy. But technically speaking, thr Sony's sound is not impressive because of thr bass. The sound became muffled, and people have to tweak it to fix it like what i did.
The sony is kind of good, in low notes, but when you get into mid notes to high, it gets muffled.
Let's say the singer does headvoice, the way you hear it in sony is like that person's voice is still thick even if it should br thinning out.
That is why the overused wrong term AUDIOPHILE has balance sounds. The audiophile expensive headsets are all balance, not like sony, boss, apple and etc
IMO Sennheiser, Audio-technica, and Sony are the best for extreme metal. Double bass never sounds muddy with those brands.

I am SO glad you mentioned more aggressive, and metal style music in this. Most reviewers use Hip Hop or Pop as a focus when it comes to reviewing headphones, which most 'Popular' headphones typically will sound great with those styles regardless with a slight change in profile. I'm a huge metal-head and I think more people should use it as a reference because it's great to measure instrument separation and low-end frequencies, just because there's sooo much going on. You can even tell that certain headphones are tuned for those specific styles, which makes it pretty difficult for me to pick a pair
Totally! These sound pretty boring for that style. Outside of that punchy low end, everything else is phenomenal. Extreme separation which some of the more punchy headphones lack. Itâs always a hard balance!

@@justinlikesme19 the airpods max are pretty flat curve. They are more like reference headphones and are meant to reproduce what the track intended so the bass is not artificially enhanced like the beats headphones or the sony xm4.
I suggest you take a look at the recend video Dankpodd made about they, you can hear the difference between multiple pairs compared to the airpods max

You can do a little bit of EQ - Accessibility - audio/visual - headphone audio, some people on head-fi found them better with "strong" soft sound boost, and you can adjust for vocal range or brightness etc.

The two things I love about these
1. Transparency mode is amazing
2. Mesh cups and easily replaced
But the price.... $899 in Australia. You can buy two pairs of XM4âs and have change left over... thatâs what held me back. I just canât do it... as much as I would like to. Great video man.

You need to got into settings on iPhone and go to Accessibility > AirPods >Audio Accessibility Settings>Headphone Accommodations and enable that setting!
Then try the Balanced and Brightness settings as well as moderate and Strong boost setting. Make a world of difference!

Iâm a huge v-shaped sound lover so I was about to return them until I discovered how awesome the spotify EQ actually is. Now the lows are even better than on my XM4âs while still keeping those crisp sounding highs and mids. Definately worth a try :)

How is the sound stage compared to Sony XMs or momentum ?
I have to use equalizer in Spotify for my AirPods Pro. Otherwise they are too flat. (Iâm a metal head too and I like drums to sound more true to life)

I have the HD-6XX, wired they are extremely close, with better instrument separation and overall balance on the AirPods Max side. The Senns have better soundstage width. I find the AirPods Max superior to the Drop Pandas, BTW. The XM3/XM4 SQ is not good. ANC is equivalent or better on the AP Max side. Hope that helps

I've wanted the Elex for so long now. I currently have AKG K712 pros and they are really really good for the 300 I paid for them, but the Elex is what everyone tells me will outperform these. Not many headphones are a significant step up from these around the sub 500 price range.
That microphone is far below the quality I would expect from apple. Seems like they just got the cheapest thing where you can just make out what is said.
Well, the web cams and mics were absolute garbage for years on macbooks. Probably just don't think many people will use the feature.

When Playing Apple Music you can use the EQ there. Also Accessability has some EQ options.
He never said "an EQ doesn't exist". Spotify has their own as well. These headphones do not have an actual EQ for themselves and that would probably always be better than a third party music service EQ is.
This is the first review where I got to âhearâ these headphones. All other reviews just talk about them compared to other headphones, tend to be bias (ie AirPods Max are the greatest headphones ever be made or overpriced junk), and are generally subjective. I donât want other people telling me what headphones are good, I want my ears to tell me that and youâve done just that! Well done mate! Subbed and looking forward to more headphone reviews!

I like the multi-point bending mechanics. Sounds like something to make headphones last longer on my head and helix nerves. I imagine that competing audio manufacturers will add that to their products if they haven't already.

@@prajwalkrishnabhat5539 almost every recharable battery operated device drains over time weather you use them or not. I used these for 22 hours over 5 days so that was a lot of down time obviously. Point is it took till the fifth day after 2 hours before it died. Not a lot of drain if you ask me. And if you donât recharge your devices but every five days and you have something with a longer battery life then I guess you have to hate them. But if you tell me you can leave the precious Sony headphones off the charger for a couple weeks without using or charging at all then a fib is being told. I have both and they do not last that long and they also drain even when off
10/10 for finding a way for me to listen to these headphones. Subscribed!

Actually, thatâs not fair. You do realize we both just follow common lighting techniques and are just sitting behind a table like everyone else? Now THAT comparison of similarity does seem to be racially motivated. If I were not Asian I donât think youâd compare me to Dave2Ds aesthetic...which tons of people have as well...because itâs a typical production setup.

I enjoyed your review however I have these headphones and I just feel their were just so many things that were brought up that could have been a bit misleading or just not brought up at all like the volume crown orientation which is configurable, the band is removable with a sim card tool. Not to mention they are many additional audio adjustments in the system settings. Another feature nobodyâs really talking about is the Find My which may seem insignificant but at least worth mentioning But hey maybe those things would be discovered at a later time.
A lot has been discovered or changed since this video was made. At the time, it was what was best known. Sorry.

6:08 Thanks especially for this part! So many reviewers kept saying how amazing ANC was and how they couldn't hear anything, while I kept hearing everyone talking around me pretty clearly even with ANC on. I mean, the ANC IS very good, but some random noises can still be heard. Other people's review got me thinking I was crazy.
Gotta keep it real and one of the best ways is letting you hear it yourself!

Apple creates a problem then charges you a fortune to get around that problem. I really like my ipad pro but the latest stunts with the iPhone 12 take the piss.
I was supposed to buy the iphone 12 but didn't because it lacking earpods and charging brick out of its box felt like apple was pulling off a scam. I, instead, bought an S20 Plus. Never coming back to iPhone.
@@miaace26 i can't remember the last time I used the in box earphones but yeah, the power brick and also for the 12 is the magnetic ring that can destroy your credit card. That is unless you buy the expensive shielded pouch. There is absolutely no need for the ring, its a gimmick with limited use.
Unfortunately, Samsung is doing the same thing now.

@@ThisIsTechToday Samsung are ditching the power brick but are they actively designing their devices so you need to buy accessories so they don't ruin your other stuff? The brick is bad but that ring is pretty unforgivable.
