@@derekcook8201 Oda was asked about this in QnA, I think so, cz there is a common "Kuro had shave" around this part of the story, and it was confirmed by Oda...these lines go around a lot here.
So in Second Gear Luffy basically uses his elastic body to pump blood faster throughout his body, giving his muscles more oxygen and allowing him to fight harder and faster. Because of this his internal temperature rises and he sweats profusely, the "steam" you see is his sweat literally evaporating off of his own skin

Many reactors hyped over Gear 2 and appreciated the agility/strength of that new power (which is super fine).
But I saw you're more hyped over the reason why Luffy decided to strengthen himself and the scene where Luffy screamed "Robin", a lot of reactors not appreciated that scene as much as you do.
That's why I'm always waiting your reactions of this, our beloved, most beautiful drama anime series.

to give a bit more context to gear 2. luffy pumps his blood faster, resulting in his body overheating. this increases his overall speed and acceleration, resulting in faster and more powerful attacks due to inertia. his moves also get the monicker of "jet", like jet pistol, jet gatling, etc. the drawback of this mode is it exhaust him faster since he burns through his calorie reserves faster.

More additional context is that it seems that Gear Second is inspired by the sea train! The pumping action of the pistons, the steam that billows out of it, and the fact that Luffy says he has a new technique he wants to try as soon as he finally gets to ride it are hints.

2nd Gear is just built different. It’s when Luffy first realised what he currently had was not enough to save and protect his friends. He needed more and Gear 2 was the first step towards that. Him thanking Blueno was just so sick because he truly meant it.
Great foreshadowing overall as well.

Can't confirm this but the "shave" technique always makes me think of Shukuchi from Rurouni Kenshin, both moves basically involve moving super fast by kicking the ground several times before moving. So wonder if shave was inspired by that

Since Luffy's body is rubber, he can pump his blood flows faster to make his heart (engine) work harder, which means his body is in turbo-mode. But unfortunately, it's also means he burn his energy faster too, which comes with side effects.

I’m a bit confused since this is my first video of yours, do you guys not know the devil fruits are called devil fruits? Since she called Blueno’s fruit the gum gum fruit and it’s been 270 episodes. And I’m typing this as I just heard this so I haven’t watched the rest of the video since it really caught me off guard.
Nvm, literally a few minutes later devil fruits were brought up. I was just confused as to why you would say that.
I see this happen with a lot of reactors. Since the first fruit they hear about is the Gum Gum fruit, a lot of them will call all of them gum gum fruit, some for longer than others. They're just used to it. They do all start correcting themselves at some point, though.

For you know Oda said Devil Fruits taste like shit. Literally. So Luffy eating the all fruit was incredible.
the easiest trick in pronouncing japanese words is to stretch out the vowel sounds. English words tend to shorten the vowels, so in japanese you stretch them out. e.g. naaakaaamaaa, Looooffeee, kaaaiiiizoookuu, muuukiiiwaaaraaa. "G" almost sounds like "K" btw, so it's Sookeeeking
there is a reason sanji is strong even though hes not a fighter, youll find out in a very long time.
The reason is simply because he was trained by Zeff and fought for years every day, until he was 19, with clients and pirates at Baratie, nothing more at this point. Fighting for him is just an extra, but i find so weird how people push this idea he never trained or fought before he joined the crew. For a while he was pretty much a young Zeff.

Both the story and Oda in the sbs made it incredibly clear that his genes activated only in the moment he wore the suit in Wano. The whole point of his backstory and his mother sacrifice was that he was born as a normal human, to the disappointment of Judge. I have no idea how some people still misunderstand that, it's not subtle in the least, Oda openly say it.
Also Oda thought he was going to end the story in 5 years, that whole plot, like many others, didn't even exist when he introduced Sanji lol

So it's pretty simple after you know how Japanese letters sound. What you're saying for nakama doesn't have a translation to english. Not even a spelling. The closest I could say is nakoma with a small o. But they don't use short o sounds, they use long o sounds like broke or woke.
every time all the time, a's will sound the same, e's will sound the same ect. Just listen to how youre pronouncing it, you're not using the same A sound throughout the word. For example, dalmatian. There are 3 different sounding A's in that word, but in japanese, the A's would all sound like the first A. Obviously, that's not a real word in japanese because it'd be hell to say it with all of the As sounding the same, but hopefully you get the point.
Rule of thumb. All vowel sounds are short except for O which is a long O sound.
