Hambledon bowled well up top stopping Fair Oak from scoring in the first 25 overs. Fair Oak fought back with some good power hitting. Hambledon then took late wickets to stop the Fair Oak attack. Hambledon had a steady start until 25 overs in when a cluster of wickets fell. Then Mark Butcher and Jonty Oliver steadied the ship taking it all the way to the last ball.
