- HBO Max’s ‘Friends: The Reunion’ special dropped Thursday and the cast, which includes Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry, explained why this will be their last public reunion. The special marked the first time the cast had been on the set together since the show wrapped 17 years ago, and they opened up to ET about how emotional it was.

Personally I think they will come back when Amazon launches its TV service and decides to offer them $5m each per episode. Money talks baby. Hope they do it before they hit their 60s though.
I'm thankful but I can't help to be selfish and watch to see reunion after reunion after reunion. I'm holding on to hope that there will be a reunion in the future.
I respect their decision. Friends is a story of a certain specific time that doesn't need a sequel nor a prequel, it is perfect as it is. Let's keep it as a time capsule for all of us
yeah, now that we have watched the reunion, it makes more sense to have watched this than watching a whole new episode of friends. the walk down memory lane of the cast members is actually what we needed.
Oh c'mon, they should make a movie.
They already did a sequel in joey but some fans would like to see a three part new episodes special.

My heart broke a little for Matthew Perry when he said, 'I don't hear from anyone'. This was in response to Corden's question if they kept in touch with each other. People say it was a joke, but I don't think so. They all laughed to hide the painful awkwardness of the truth. I think Matt has had a tough time with substance abuse and kind of fallen away from the group. Anyone else think so? 💔

I think he was joking like he does but friends was a painful time for him. It saved him, but he was in rehab a lot throughout the series.
I think this is the closure we've all been waiting for. The show ended, the story ended, and I think we have to accept the fact that we have to move on. We need to let them be their own self and establish a career with characters apart from the character they played for before. Thank you for being our friends.

Friends is more than just the characters, the set and chemistry between them captures New York life in the 90s, which is probably why they are so emotional since a lot has changed since then.

It's sad BUT it's really hard to date someone you work with most days (and for ten years) and what was most likely to happen *if* they dated was they would probably break up at some point which could mess up their friendship, their chemistry, etc. This was the most realistic *best* outcome. For them to meet on the show and stay together until now... that's fairy tale stuff.
I would say more like bitter-sweet. The fact that they channeled that spark into Rachel & Ross made their relationship super intense. I get the feeling they're proud of how it all went.
Fun fact : Paul rudd wasn't in the reunion because he was still stuck in the quantum realm while this was being filmed.
Because he got his time travel research from Die Hard 🤣🤣

I think if they didn’t feel this way about each other from the start it wouldn’t have been so successful They gave us some great years and with reruns continue doing so. Best sitcoms ever. I wish them continued success in there lives Who knows what the future holds never say never.

I am just too addicted and love this show till eternity.I can never be bored watching Friends.Every scene I can watch again and again and again.It's like doing sex with the hottest woman on planet.You will never care to stop it because no reason is good enough.
It really makes you love the show on a deeper level knowing they’re still great friends with each other even after all these years. They have such a wonderful close bond, it’s so cool to see.
they put on a show in the reunion. if they were still great friends wouldn't jennifer have invited matthew and matt to her wedding? or that bit about matthew saying how much he struggled with the live audience and lisa saying you never mentioned that to us even once. if they were "great friends" wouldn't he have told them about stuff like that. they were work friends. shouldn't make this anything more than it was otherwise you get your hopes up only to be let down later
the whole thing was so emotional to me. I've literally watched the show uncountable times and it always gets better. its been my confort when i was dealing with depression and anxiety and I'll always be thankful for this show and these 6 incredible actors who changed my life

Even the background music was so well done, especially the violins and piano during the Ross-Rachel segment. I wept and wept. 😭❤️
15 years and 10 seasons later, it is still the best show I watch whenever I want a nice evening watching goofy comedy. This show never fails to make me laugh even though I have watched more than 30 times

My husband and I fell in love during this show. We’ve been together for 23 years now. We watched tonight and laughed so much and it brought us back to our twenties and our early days together. It reminded us of our “must see TV Thursday night!” This show is a gift to us all. I know not everyone gets it. Our own children (mostly grown) don’t get it either. But WE do. And we know who our people are ❤️
We were dating:) my husband used to hang out till " after Friends ". Closing credits were his cue to go.
I also started dating my first wife and emotions stirred within me after a painful divorce, the memories,first date at a restaurant eating pizza and she did not eat the whole pizza,I thought why wouldn't she eat pizza,it was great, fabulous time..I would reunite with her forever until death do us apart

I cried through the whole thing. When I was a young student, I didn’t have a TV. So I ended up watching Friends on repeat on CZcams everyday. It was so emotional seeing them all again.
I'm thankful they got together just this one time. I never expected it or wanted it but seeing it does things to me. We don't need another reunion because we will forever have reruns and streaming and syndication to be there for us. So grateful for these six legends!

I was already crying 10 minutes into the reunion. To see them all together on set again was incredible but also bittersweet. Because we'll never have that again. I just wanted to hug Matthew Perry throughout. He seemed and looked uncomfortable. I really hope he's doing okay. I think Lisa, David and Matt Le Blanc look fantastic. This reunion really felt like the end of something. I think it's a good decision to leave the show alone. Friends has been there for me through depression, loneliness, suicidal thoughts, happiness and joy. I'm forever thankful that these guys where there when I felt most alone in the world.

2 years later after the unfortunate passing of Matthew. I just wanted to say that apparently he had dental surgery a few days or so before this reunion. So his mouth was on fire still. That might’ve been a reason he was or looked so uncomfortable.
Watching this and still watching all the shows, shows how time passes. Look how young they looked. Live life right and to the fullest, live with no regrets. Time passes so fast. I’m getting depressed bc soon that’s happening to me.
I feel the same way. I'm similar age to the cast so I've grown up with them and it's sooooo depressing to get older that it's now becoming painful to look back and realise it's all gone and never coming back. Maybe one day I'll feel differently but right now it's the hardest phase of life to endure..
Oh I use to watch it all the time in my 20s and just turn 30 this year, but that's the point of the show. Live in the moment and be like Joey/Phoebe.
Its amazing how still some of their expressions, tiny gestures remind me of some specific episodes.
Glad I got the opportunity to see the set in universal studios in LA .Sat on the couch .just love friends it was lovely yet emotional to see them all again .thanks for the memories .wherever the next path in life takes you. I wish you all the very best xxxxxxx

They even talk about how when they do meet each other, its like no time has passed, that they don't need to be around each other all the time to still have that friendship.

No, they ddon’t all look great. Anniston obviously looks inhumanly fantastic, Cox and Kudrow look like a very good version of their age, as does Schwimmer.
Leblanc got fat, otherwise he’s okay (still got the great smile and pulls off the grey hair well), Perry’s drug abuse shows, he looks bad, sorry, he was always my favorite.
They don't look their age though, at all. The only two of them who do is Matt and Matthew as they both have signs of age such as grey hairs etc. The others are surgically altered, Jennifers face looks frozen most of the time, for eg. David looks the same age he was during the show lol, I mean he looks really good, and they're all allowed to have as much surgery as they want! It's their life their choice

Don't worry, I felt the same but honestly the scene in this video was basically the only "goodbye moment" and it ended happy shortly after that. It left me with a great feeling rather than sadness, much different from when I first saw the ending of the original series.

Just watched it, made me really happy and sad at the same time, I had a crappy childhood and I owned and watched friends over and over till the vhs was worn out then on to dvd, they weren't just friends to me they were more like family that got me through my toughest times may they live on forever 🥺

Honestly, I didn't even wanted the reunion to end. Friends has been special coz it has moved around the time when I had something special going around it on my own life. I recall those moments I had watching Friends and somewhere when the episodes end again and again I kinda remember how it all ended before. It's just, I am happy Team Friends decided a Reunion and for that special someone whom I'm sure watched it and smiled❤️. Always special.

It was a really sweet reunion. Man, I remember when the show was at its height, it was as if everything could be so good forever. Time sure marches on, doesn't it.
103 minutes long, "Friends: The Reunion" was an extremely awaited episode, and honestly, it made me smile, laugh and I was constantly entertained. Obviously the episode could have been a bit better considering how long the fans had to wait and I might have more enjoyed the six playing the fictional characters from the show, but what we got instead was also pretty memorable, satisfying and wonderful. Unlike Ross and Rachel, I wasn't on a break while watching the reunion!

It was so wonderful to see Friends Reunion it was so emotional weird to say but I grew up along with them I was In my 30’s watching this phenomenal show and now I am in my 50’s! It was so great the two hours went by so fast!! watching them all together again. The Reunion was a great idea! It gave the dedicated viewers to get a chance to get to know each one of them in real life along with the characters they played.
