OMG! I was listening the live game on my radio… but I didn't watch it (obiously). Tim Howard is OP and, although I admit that I would have liked to see LA winning, I gotta say that Colorado deserved it.
But anyway!! I actually don't like both teams... I support Toronto FC, I can't wait to watch them (Toronto) beating NYC. Go Toronto!! MLS cup is already ours!!

Ashley Cole has been the 4th or 5th penalty taker on pretty much every team he has been in for over 15 years. Some of the competitive penalties he has taken have been on the biggest stages of international sports, and he will be remembered for some of his misses (such as vs Italy in 2012 European Championships) and makes (such as in 2008 and 2012 Champions League Final) for a very long time. The commentator made a mistake thinking a defender would rarely take important penalties, there's no reason to assume that he meant to only talk about Cole's short stint in the MLS.

Howard is considered as most superhuman keeper in the history of soccer. This dude brought about keeping techniques no keeper has ever brought all over the world along with shoe maker.
I know it probably isn’t Jon Champion’s fault but that Ashley Cole stat is so amateur. Even if the stat was being MLS specific it’s still a useless stat and I get the feeling someone told him that stat and didn’t explain that he had taken them in the past, including in a champions league final, but it’s just slightly annoying 😂

dafuq i'm from Germany I grew up with football haha.
But the MLS is the only league which has Playoffs so it's kind of unusual to have a penalty shootout during the season.
Again it's playoffs, not the regular season. If after 90 mins. a game is tied or nil-nil that's it, game over. This, however, was to decide who moved on to face Seattle in the western conference finals. This was game 2. Going into this game Colorado was down by a point. They needed 1 of 2 things to happen. 1. they needed 2 goals and to shut LA out to send LA packing at the end of 90 mins. or 2. get a goal, shut LA out, force 2 15 min. halfs, either score in one of the 2 15 min halfs to send LA packing or force PKs. Clearly, neither team scored in the 2 15 min. halfs so it forced PKs. At that point, Colorado had not lost at home in 18 games.
