Cowboys fan here. The Cowboys and the Giants games are usually high tension being division rivals. And theres a lot of shoving and roughing over the years. But this year I didnt see any of that between the two teams. And both teams were pretty shook up from that. There was no bad hit. Just landed on the ground wrong. I'm glad both teams held it together and no one got physical over it. Because it definitely wasnt intentional. Thanks for the kind words too buddy
Awesome to help inform people like this. I’m a recently graduated massage therapist and have a new found love for the anatomy, body systems and kinesiology. I feel for all professional athletes. Quick recovery to Dak. 🤙
Always enjoy your videos pal. I think that his rehab will be a difficult one but probably can recover almost the same, assuming the Cowboys have top rehab professionals. Mentally though I agree...its tough to be fearless in the NFL at the best of times...post injury fear avoidance could be a huge issue and 1000% sure his rushing game will suffer both physically and mentally. Prayers up!
same here but i wanted to hear from an expert about the injury and get an idea about recovery time or worse-maybe there is a chance Dak cannot play again. Thanks for the explanation. I will be sharing with my Radiography students so the understand the mechanism of injury when encountering these patients in x-ray.
That's what turf does. Turf is exactly why we have witnessed an increase in ankle and knee injuries in football. They need to get rid of it. Players used to complain about it back in the day. Only a handful of fields had it, all the indoor ones. No one liked playing in them for a reason.
@Chanclor Ashley It reminded me of Allen Hurns when he sustained the same injury dislocation, and compound fracture) while playing for the cowboys a couple years ago. czcams.com/video/I20iKREE180/video.html
Hi Brian, awesome review first off. As a pre PA student I loved the program that you used to show the anatomy and bone structure. What program did you use and is it downloadable for Mac? Thanks
As someone who suffered a similar injury to my left ankle while running down stairs some years ago, I found this video very informative. I never heard any detailed explanation like this before and after surgery and during the long rehab; it certainly would have helped me understand the extent of my injury.
You're #1 Dak...this really broke my heart but seeing how you handle everything that you have gone thru is just so inspiring and motivating which hits me right to the heart...I've been thru this had my toes facing behind and to turn my foot back around with my hand so I know the pain n the recovery process and it's tough really tough and that with all you've been thru shows alot of strength and heart and makes me proud and honored to have u as our quarterback Dakota Rein Prescott and to Jerry Jones " Give this man his money already" .....coming from a hardcore COWBOYS FAN
I had this same injury, broke in 3 places, 7/17/2020 and let me tell you I was in no condition to bang it around to attempt to put it back into place. DAK, YOUR A ROCK STAR FOR TRYING.
It’s a reflex. The adrenaline kicks in before the brain can process the severity of the pain. It’s the body’s attempt to get itself out of harms way. I landed on my pinky in the snow and it was clearly sideways, could see it through a couple pairs of gloves. I tugged on it without thinking about it. A natural bodily response spurned on by adrenaline doesn’t make you a warrior. It makes you human.
I hope he has a speedy recovery, lord knows the man’s been through enough already. But I know this will all make him a stronger and better man than he already is.

Good informative video. Nice job! Knowledge is power! Love and prayers to Dak!
I feel for Dak, dude has had a rough year. I hope he recovers fully and as fast as possible. Thanks for covering this
czcams.com/video/eMOoxoa_XNo/video.html
I’ve been refreshing to watch this! Thanks Dr. Sutterer
Prayers up!
Kudos to you Doc for bring up the mental health aspect. That’s equally important
I was so hesitant to click this vid
Ye same 😬

"We're gonna go through the footage and see what happened" Me: NOOOOOOOOO
same here but i wanted to hear from an expert about the injury and get an idea about recovery time or worse-maybe there is a chance Dak cannot play again. Alex Smith is an extreme case but look at everything that happened to him. i think it was 600 plus days later he finally took the field and took a snap.
Same but I needed to know how bad it was
Very intricate and detailed examination of his injury. I am hoping to become a doctor myself, and your channel is extremely interesting and informative. Earned my subscription.

Hey Dr. Sutterer! Newcomer to the channel here and I have to say I love the content. As a current physical therapy student, I'd appreciate some of your insight and professional opinion as far as what your prognosis would be assuming this is something along the lines of a trimalleolar fracture and dislocation.
Wow, what a terrific channel. Great idea and well executed. Not anything I would check unless something was going on but I'll subscribe just out of respect...
Panthers fan here. Was eating dinner with my girl friend and immediately wanted to vomit. I've never cried for any player not on my team when they get Injured but this is just sad that it happened to him on a prove it contract and how good a guy he us.
Had a big spread in front of me when U of Louisville basketball player shattered his leg about ten years ago. I kinda of noticed it live, definitely saw it on the first replay, the rest of the bar didn’t notice until the slow-mo. I put down my fork in time to catch the guy next to me who fainted
Your post is such a lie
I was eating dinner with blah and i wanted cry and vomit like a little bitoch. Get real dude. Who wears the panties in the relationship. Must be you
@@awkwardoccurrencelatenight2151 holy shit! Ive finally encountered a basement dweller that can't achieve shit. Cheer up my guy your life won't suck forever.
Same her and I am an Eagles fan. Feel so bad for this guy and hoping for an speedy recovery! Such a gnarly injury
Prayers up for Dak man, 2020 just hasn’t been his year (hasn’t been anyone else’s, but he’s been through the worst for sure man).
In reality, Dak was having a career year. Maybe his best one yet. Absolutely brutal
@@gil8967 he means outside of football. Especially with his brother
@@gil8967 In reality? No. In reality Dak was having a bad year after losing his brother. Professionally he was having a good year. Realistically he wasnt. Might want to learn the difference.
@Chanclor Ashley This has nothing to do with money. Shut up.

In August i had ankle ligament repair surgery still recovering & in therapy I hope Dak has a speedy & successful recovery.
You are an amazing Dr on how you explained all this. Thank you..take care
It hasn't passed a day and I'm already missing Dak 😭
as a cowboys fan i’ve been crying and feeling bad for prescott for hours now.
but i will also say the guy who made the tackle must feel awful and i hope he knows that no one is mad at him and that he was just playing football and we know he meant no harm.
praying for Dak. for everyone saying i need help no i wasn’t bawling my eyes out just tears and being sad.
if you watch the tackler didnt even cause the injury
@@videoluvr4204 the doctor says the injury probably started before the contact, but you can guarantee that a 230lb dude sliding into your leg after you just fractured it made it way worse.
Dak straight up threw the guy down in front of him.
If you've been crying for hours because of a guys injury, then you need therapy or something
Them cowgirl fans are sensitive
Gr8 video. Learned alot. Such a soothing voice.
I had this exact thing happen to me in college. Thank you for the explanation and education of the injury and how and why it happens
BRO YOU ARE IMMEDIATELY QUICK!!!! Thank you for this!!
He’s the goat at this bro 💯
6 hours later
Quicker than Prescott going to get the surgery, lol

Really appreciate you explaining this injury in-depth doctor..now us fans just need our QB to heal and make a full recovery..prayers up for Dak #4 #DC4L 💙🏈

I just got this exact same injury and this is helping me understand it a lot thx
Losing his mother, brother, having a career season and also playing on a big franchise tag determining his future contract value. His post surgery video shows him in good spirits. Just a great guy who’s very inspirational even before this mishap. Prayers that he makes a full recovery. 🙏 Jerry and the Cowboys’s better take care of this man
Brian: beautifully, beautifully explained.
Explained it so good it hurt my ankle 😂😂
I'm a die hard eagle's fan I know what's its like to have your best player get an injury I feel so bad for dak and I hope he makes a speedy recovery get back soon dak
Audrey Furber yeah we you guys lost Carson I felt really bad but then you guys won the super bowl and I was happy for you guys
@@aaron-jq9wz thanks so much sir I wish the same for Dallas they are better then the eagle's this year good luck with your team sir
Audrey Furber you too
Sadly Carson Wentz was never the same player after his injury let’s hope Dak isn’t the same way
Audrey Furber , I have to congratulate you and commend you for being such a class act .
Been a Cowboys fan since 1985 and never see an Eagles fan with any class ( worst fans in the NFL) !.
Thank you for highlighting the importance of rehabbing your mental health during an injury like this.
Thanks for the explanation. I will be sharing with my Radiography students so the understand the mechanism of injury when encountering these patients in x-ray.
I thought the defender completely crushed daks ankle but it happened before the defender even made contact
That's what turf does. Turf is exactly why we have witnessed an increase in ankle and knee injuries in football. They need to get rid of it. Players used to complain about it back in the day. Only a handful of fields had it, all the indoor ones. No one liked playing in them for a reason.
NuffxSaid fr thats how i tore my acl on turf, and there wasn’t even any contact i just planted hard when trying to cut

I never heard any detailed explanation like this before and after surgery and during the long rehab; it certainly would have helped me understand the extent of my injury.
can we appreciate how much of a boss dak is for trying to throw his ankle back into place! i would have passed out instantly
I dislocated and fractured mine and it really doesn’t hurt as bad as you think cause you’re in shock and your adrenaline is rushing
Why does his content just seem to be so perfect within a small amount of time? 🤯

IDK😳
Excellent explanation. He'll be back. That was a brutal injury. Appreciate you taking the time. 🤘
Unfortunately I was waiting for this hopefully Dak came come back stronger than ever.
I wasn’t waiting for this but ik for sure he’s gonna come back for vengeance 😈 he’s gonna be nastier than what he is now 💯💯💯
Pablo Myers Myers that was his last game as a Cowboy
Yupp hes going to be a free agent this made it vary easy for jerry jones hes gonna release him

I had this same injury, broke in 3 places, 7/17/2020 and let me tell you I was in no condition to bang it around to attempt to put it back into place. DAK, YOUR A ROCK STAR FOR TRYING.
Man I hope he can come back even better.. especially after turning down an enormous contract to bet on himself this year, super sad to see 🙏
Hes a beast for trying to knock It back into place. Guarantee he was trying to get back in the game. Straight warrior
czcams.com/video/NvjxKVcRKXc/video.html
He is so brave
It’s a reflex. The adrenaline kicks in before the brain can process the severity of the pain. It’s the body’s attempt to get itself out of harms way.
I landed on my pinky in the snow and it was clearly sideways, could see it through a couple pairs of gloves. I tugged on it without thinking about it.
A natural bodily response spurned on by adrenaline doesn’t make you a warrior. It makes you human.
Thanks for doing this man. Been a fan of Dak since his college days, I feel better now that I have a better understanding of what he’s going through.
