    • @TheLoamCourierMTB

      Mate, I’d recommend a second hand Hardtail build. I seen you just broke yours but honestly dude, try get your hands on either a Bird, Ragley or Nukeproof HT frame, then build up your parts over time. A good frame, some RS Yari forks, brand-X dropper post, NX eagle and some Shimano Deore/SLX brakes, you’ll be able to build yourself a pretty capable HT with a decent spec if you decide to build it yourself. Keep everything second hand, you might save a bit cash and be able to buy a brand new frame and some other parts. You don’t *need* a full sus, the HT can do everything a full sus does and come in cheaper. Also, less maintenance! Imagine going from having to replace 6/7 different sets of bearings in your frame to 0.

  • @yetti423
    @yetti423 Před 2 lety

    When it comes to frame bearings i spin them up with a socket in a drill and remove the old grease with break cleaner, then when evaporated force in fresh. One set of bearings is an arse for water ingress so when the dust seal is back on use water pump grease to seal below the dust cover, not perfect but def fends off the inevitable for a few more months.
    After that the bikes ridden into a watery ditch.

    My brakes are super squeaky for some reason. I've tried cleaning bads and the disk, any tips on how to stop it? Or should I just buy new pads?

    • @william2532
      @william2532 Před 2 lety +1

      new pads, if you want them to be quieter you can get resin pads, metallic is more powerful but louder

    • @th_js
      @th_js Před 2 lety +2

      New pads, sand rotors properly, degrease with brake-cleaner/alcohol.
      Install new pads, make sure everything is grease-free, do a proper bedding in of the pads by finding a mellow downhill road, do 20 strong stops from a speed with each brake without ever locking the brake and don't overheat the brake at all.

    • @pinkbike
      @pinkbike  Před 2 lety +2

      From my experience, it's really hard to "clean" pads because they are so absorbent. I do the little sandpaper method to freshen them up from time to time. If they're wet or even super dry/dusty then some noises aren't abnormal. If they aren't biting into the rotor then it could be time for a new set but careful not to put fresh pads on a contaminated rotor or that's a wasted set of pads. -Christina

    • @vladivanov7645
      @vladivanov7645 Před 2 lety

      HI. You can burn em up. Works quite well for me. use some spirit or blow torch and burn pads a bit, do same with the rotor, not overheat just burn 5-10 sec. works well. or ultrasound cleaner for pads works like charm.
