    Auctioneers seemed very honest. Their inspection is probably with the machine off and just closely looking at everything. I doubt they get any real test use of the car.

    Similar style but unfortunately is not the GTC or R-Spec Mazdaspeed wing

      I've seen 19s on a RX-7, talk about too large. 17s and 18s are both fine IMO.

    by tuneup you mean an engine rebuild lmfao

    • @PacificCoastAuto
      @PacificCoastAuto  Před 2 lety +4

      Maybe so.. it's only a matter of time for the RX-7 before it needs a rebuild. the way I like to look at it is that the FD is about $15,000 less than an equivalent condition MK4 Supra or Skyline, performs and looks better than either.. and then when it's time to get a rebuild, you use that savings toward the rebuild.

    I am wondering is the RX8 cheaper than the RX7 in Japan auctions mate thanks

    • @PacificCoastAuto
      @PacificCoastAuto  Před 2 lety +3

      The RX-8 is about 20% the cost of the RX-7 in the same condition. This is because the RX-8 has been seen as a disappointment to rotary lovers. The lower power, less sporty looks, and the difficulty of modifying the engine are probably the main reasons. It's still a great car. The chassis is amazing and they perform very well on the track. They are great money for value and will likely be appreciated more in the future.

      @@PacificCoastAuto yep it's cheaper than the RX7 that's why my question was asked there is heaps of them up to but when you are the auction place would you show some I would like to see what They put into the RX8 compared to the RX7 mate thanks

    • @RanenPo
      @RanenPo Před 2 lety

      @@crunchied8 RX-8 motor is more problematic, plus stylistically most people think it looks worse than the sleek and timelessly styled FD RX-7.

    • @prismatic9804
      @prismatic9804 Před 2 lety

      Cheaper than an RX7 because even properly cared for RX8s are an engine rebuild waiting to happen. They're beyond unreliable because the failures aren't cheap problems in the least. If you find one, I'd suggest finding a cheap one that needs a motor and buying an aftermarket longblock to put in.

      We once exported a Porsche 356 and could track the history of it. It was an original Euro model sent to the USA, then to Japan, then to France. I'm guessing the RX-7 will eventually become a car that's moved from country to country in the same way that 1960s Porsches are now.
