    I basically grew up with the st162 and st182 and they are such nice cars. A friend of my dad had a red st185 carlos sainz and that car was so cool. He babied that thing untill he sold it... now they are worth a lot here.

      I feel ya! I had an old 1985 Celica GTS that was a lovely car and nearly bought an All-Trac in 2005, but it was parked up for 10 years and they still wanted the better part of $5k! However that's cheap money for these now..
      And things you sell, but wish you hadn't... I had the Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan 2.2L Turbo 5spd with a completely refurbed driveline I spent restoring over three years and sold it like a dope mid-recession for probably half of what it was worth then... I considered buying another, but they're worth an absolute fortune now!

    Ive had this drivetrain in my USDM 1994 Celica ST-204 for twelve years. That ECU is so much more aggressive with the timing than the USDM version. It’s 235PS (The standard JDM was 225PS)
    BTW - That’s an ST-205 W2AIC. The RC/CS version was slightly smaller than that.

    • @austinclark8727
      @austinclark8727 Před rokem

      The ST-205 Chargecooler doesn't have the hump on the front by the Turbo (plus it has a black colored metal instead of the silver colored on the 185 along with it saying "Twin Entry Turbo"), it's just flat there. Also the diagonal bit on the right is a sharper angle on the RC vs the 205. Yeah the timing will delay a ton when the oxygen sensor isn't working and/or the fuel octane isn't closer to 94.

    If it is a real Rc it must have additional water injection under the bumper to cool the intercooler.

    Turbo cars at high mileage give me the heebie jeebies. Your asking for your car to bust a nutt of oil all over the interior of the cylinders. Above and below. Gigantic disaster. By experience, just a fair warning to those considering. 100,000 Miles a petrol engine is pretty much clapped out performance wise.

    • @jacoja06
      @jacoja06 Před 3 lety +1

      Completely different car. The ST185 won three WRC world drivers championships. The car you're referring to is the ST205 which came out years later.

      @@jacoja06 I know that,but what we don't know for sure that they cheated only with that car or way before that with this aswell.Once a cheater ,always a cheater,especially when they're from Japan.

    • @jacoja06
      @jacoja06 Před 3 lety

      @@raulalejandrobastillapedro1564 There wasn't anything out of the ordinary for the ST185's performance on track. It wasn't like Benetton in 1994. The ST205 was noticeably quicker at accelerating than the competition. The restricor bypass was designed by Toyota Europe, not Japan.
