The first rule of buying a PSU is to make sure it's branded and well reviewed
iGPUs are really getting better. Hopefully they keep this up and not just settle.
There isn't any reason they can't make a good IGPU as the technology is there if they choose to invest in it. They'll never be as good as a dedicated obviously, but it's still nice to have a decent onboard GPU if your card dies so you can keep working and playing while you wait for a new card.

Yeah, even the iGPU was running playable with most of the games. It really shows you how far integrated graphics have come.

And was recently in promotion for 373€ and likely less in the US though now it's back to full price, but still beat the crap out of that huge thing for nothing.

Edit: and forgot to mention again that it was in promotion recently for almost the same price as the PC in this video but the Steam deck includes controls and screen like if you were buying a full PC combo with monitor, M\K which would increase price a lot. And if you still want you can always connect it to a bigger monitor and play with Mouse and keyboard through the performance would suck for higher resolutions as off course...

I'm blown away how even a potato pc like this can smash relatively modern games these days. It isn't that long ago since igpu for gaming was absolute no-no and now it smashes gta 5. Even cyberpunk was playable if you're used to it, I've beaten many games at 20fps when I was a broke kid

Pretty crazy yes. When I finished college, I was playing Left 4 Dead 2 in 1280x720p, and was still getting low fps and stutters. My internet was trash too, but I still had a good time
I agree! It’s also cool that FSR works with these igpus. So you can get a slightly better frame rate. Even if it does look worse.

Cheap cases are definitely good enough, but they get what you pay for.
I'll personally never "cheap out" on a PC case. I gladly pay extra for more cable management space, dust filters and temps.
4:30 That plastic ring with AMD printed on it will lift off the rest of the cooler, and you can turn it where you want. Gets the logo and the fan cable facing the way want them.
It's not, the AMD logo has a screw and a different mount so you can't really move it, I tried

@@gloomy935 Wraith Spire coolers from AMD all have that removable plastic that can be rotated. Other AMD coolers might not but the one on the video can be rotated without much issue.
Why the hassle? He should have had it facing the other way around, just in case you have some beefy RAM sticks or something, but in this case it was no big deal anyway

I use that Silicon Power RAM in budget client builds all the time. It's actually surprisingly decent apart from the packaging which may or may not extract some blood when you try to free the RAM from it.

I used Team Group in my gaming laptop and seems to work pretty decently as well
I bought a few for my friends as the price is unbelievably cheap. Seems pretty great so far after a year purchase.
only problem is their NVME SSD drivers do not install..doesnt detect its own hardware

Since I got my 7900XTX I miss all the fiddling with the settings trying to run games on an Intel UHD G1. Speaking of fiddling I recommend overclocking the iGPU (if your cooling can handle it) will definitely help it there are a bunch of guides on YT to get it running 10-20% faster.
Absolutely love Dawid's style of gaming first casting second, always focusing more on games, and pausing his talking while shooting enemies. It shows that Dawid is a true gamer and could be an excellent play-by-play caster someday!
Acctually Very Solid PC For Amazon Maybe Its Evolving
Honestly, for the price for all new prices, it isn’t the worst thing that’s been put together. It’s also pretty easy to upgrade. Also, Dawid, when you do break-off PCIe covers, just press inward and push back outward like how you’d get a pull-tab off a soda can.
You accidentally made a really balanced rig after you dropped that GPU in there. Thats a nice set up for under $1000 right there.
I've been seeing "Dawid does tech stuff" in CZcams maybe since the first or second day of 2021 and boy, this guy has never ceased to amaze me. His videos are always (I mean ALWAYS) beautifully crafted and you has to be an effing zombie if the script don't bring you a smile (or a cackle) to your face. Just this week, I was seriously considering bringing a new PC to my home, one that doesn't require my arm or my leg in exchange and what does I get in this channel? A video on how to get a PC that could cost USD $350 OR LESS but with enough stamina to play CYBERPUNK 2077 at not less than 40 frames per second AND with all the parts bought not in WISH or ALI-BABA, but in God damned AMAZON! The AMD logo on the cooler should go any direction other than the one you chose lol. Now it covers the first RAM slot.
exactly!! I've heard to always put it to the left, not the right. And I don't think up and down is possible because the mounting holes would be slightly misaligned.

I have a non X ryzen 5 5600 and a rx 6600, and I find them a really good pairing even for AAA games. I'm glad you've had such an awesome experience with such a cheap little system!
Non-X is the way to go for smart money, even more so with the Ryzen 7000 series. The performance differences are insignificant and you can always use PBO to make up any difference.
That SP X-power RAM is actually quite good. I use 32GB of it in one of my systems with an ASUS B550F and 5600X. It runs stable CL16 3200 with DOCP/XMP set. It was one of the ram kits listed on the ASUS QVL for the motherboard.
I've been using the SP RAM in my PC and almost every PC I've built. Never had an issue it's extremely good.
I've used 32gb turbine and stealth in 4 different systems, including my daily driver for 2 years with no problems. The 32gb kits are also dual rank. Although I did get one kit that couldnt' hit XMP but returns are so easy with amazon it really wasn't a big deal.
That's it, I'm done spending 5k a year between desktop and laptop having near top of the line performance. I'm going to start getting low end 1k or under PC's to play my games. All I play are older games anyway so I don't really need the high end, and many of them don't like high refresh either so I may as well save some money.
I think the only problem with mounting the AMD Stealth cooler that way was that it could interfere with RAM clearance if you used 4 sticks, otherwise it doesnt matter

Yepp, my suggest in place of the poor mustard-ketchup cabled psu would be the blitzwolf gp-1 550w...same price, step up in rating(80+gold), quality, fully modular, black cables and little rgb.

I'd force a 5600g over the 4600g personally for about twice the amount of cache but I love the rest of this build. Definitely need both dual ram sticks and as much as you can afford for the iGPU so 16 or even 32 GBs is right and allocate 4 or 8 GBs to video. But that of course would not be the CHEAPEST-ish :D
Well, I'd argue it's still cheaper than buying a dedicated graphics card.
I bet that you could have gotten tons of more framerate on the iGPU if you oriented the AMD stock cooler a different way. :P
RGB adds +10% more FPS. :P
Cable management on point
Absolutely insane system for $350. It's insane the PC value you can have today for pennies. You can work a fast food job in a city for 3 days and have enough to buy and build this PC. No excuses.
Dropped a Rx 6650 xt into my system yesterday after running off a 5600G iGPU for a while and it honestly shocked me a lot at the difference in performance caused by adding in one part. also had to deal with the wierd break off slot covers and it did not feel right to break them off at all lol.
How does it perform in 1440p ??

Well, the gpu is the single most important part for pc performance. You can take a 10 year old pc with a 3rd gen intel processor, and add a decent video card, maybe add another matching stick of ram, and it will give you a proper gaming experience.
I was thinking of upgrading to an rx 6650 xt now while I can get The Last of Us as a bonus lol.

At least in tech it is usual to make inscriptions readable from below or from the right side. So you mounted the cooler the wrong way. And für the Molex powered fan: There was also a 3-Pin plug. I usually cut the extension wires to the Molex 4-Pin right at close as possible at the 3-Pin. So you get a normal 3-Pin Fan to connect to a board header.

Hi David, nice to see you spend the patreon money on really awesome hardware. Honestly speeking, I like to see igpu put into play again. Far from everybody can afford a RTX 4090 or similar. I actually sell many with 5600G, with a proper upgrade path (good psu for instance)
5600G and 5700G are awesome. But as a upgrade path it is just sad. Outside of the fact that 5600G might be even cheaper then 5600(nonx) it just aint right to put a dedicated GPU on a APU. Just no. Anyways AM5 might give us APU's that make low end GPU's pointless at last. But to buy a 5600G to then add a 7600xt or even 6700xt sounds like such a waste. Even the new AM5 CPU's makes more sense since the iGPU in them are not really for gaming yet gives the benefits of a backup graphics for troubleshooting. 5600G is not worth it if one can get a 5700x instead really.
i bought a 5600g and later put a 3060ti in it when the prices dropped was worth it!
@@Awngelo it's rarely not worth it to add a dedicated GPU to a gaming system. I love having a IGPU on my system for backup if my card starts malfunctioning so I can troubleshoot things and still be able to use the system for basic stuff when I have to replace the GPU. Learned this lesson the hard way a long time ago and never made that mistake again.
@@Joreel ye thats how i see it too. But the only reason why i bought the 5600g in particular was bcs i play simple games like minecraft, valorant and fortnite. And the gpu prices were too high in 2021. But its always smart to have a igpu or integrated graphics
To be precise, the last steam user statistic I read showed that only 0.24% of users had a RTX 4090 installed (one quarter of one percent of the sample poll).
They have improved on the graphics side of their newer APU chips. I have a non gaming laptop that has a Ryzen 7 4700u and while the config involves a soldered 8gb ram stick, it plays a lot of games quite well. Mix settings obviously for some games, but was really impressed with it. I do have a gaming laptop now, but I still use the Ryzen laptop.
I love my MSI B550m vvvdugh motherboard, thing lets me use 4400mhz ram, has really good built in oc/uv profiles for the non-overclockable Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and the newer VC WiFi (which is the same price) actually has WiFi 6E and even three extra full PCI-E 3 16x slots ontop the main gen-4! Not to mention the full four ram slots being on a sub $120 Micro ATX mobo!

I imagine he is building these for customers. They give a budget, he picks the parts, and then gives it a "theme" and makes a video based around that.
dawid, im curious: how do you sound so well in videos? your audio sounds like you spend 98% of the time you have to make a video editing audio.
whenever i record myself i sound like talking into a bucket lol
Microphone quality helps, as does having good sound dampening in the area you're recording in. Do some tests with what you got, figure out how to get your mic to best pick up *just* your voice and fiddle with the settings on your recording software. Most the time, editing the audio should only take the time to slap on the standard filters and edit out all the ums, stutters and verbal typos. (Source: Being on the webcast team at work. 80% of the sound improvement came from sound dampening and a microphone that didn't suck. Well worth looking into if you can)
For sound dampening on the cheap, open up your closet and let the clothes on hangers do it's magic...

I remember the pullout PCI-E tabs. I lost so much blood and skin from my knuckles building PC back then. I was so happy when they started using removable covers. I still have covers and the screws from PCs I built 15-20 years ago.

looks like the only real negative about that case is the breakoff slot covers, which are common on cheap cases (and have been for decades). That and sharp edges/thin metal. All are hallmarks of cheap. Though they've largely gotten away from sharp edges lately, I'm sure some bottom-tier cases still have this problem.
Will we see a death match arena of death between this cheap Amazon build, and some of those crappy pre-builds you keep buying?

There's several I've seen on sites like Newegg but a lot of them come with a drive bays. I have a gamemax m60 that has mesh side panels and no glass but it's only an matx case

@aymen.D Here in South Africa rx580 8gb costs $100 used and gtx 1660 costs $140 used. Rx550 isn't as common here, the Rx580 is pretty good on the used market because of all the mining. It's cheap to get new thermal pads and anyone doing a new build already has thermal paste, I would recommend repasting cards this old. And yeah, Rtx 3050 is still scamming people new here at nearly $400

I built a small machine using a 3200g and the Wraith cooler not long back and I was halfway through tightening the thing down when I realised that dratted bulge with the AMD logo on it was interfering with the RAM slots. It's fair to say the pre-applied TIM was pretty well spread by the time I'd installed it for the second time.

on the topic of budget gaming PCs, just wanted to brag how i got a PC with a 9th gen i5, nvidia 2060, 32gb of ram, for the low low price of 170 usd, by buying from a friend. only thing i needed was a boot drive, so i just pulled the 1tb ssd out of my laptop and stuck it in the pc, and its working great
This is a very solid build honestly, might go this route witha a used gpu for my sons first computer.

This video was really interesting & useful for a project I am planning.
For the performance testing with / without the dedicated GPU it would have been useful to briefly show a like for like comparison (same quality settings etc) before showing the performance with higher quality. It helps with the story telling side of things and it makes the data more useful when it comes to making decisions.

I know this is kinda late, but it was to at least me obvious Dawid didn't know about the need to reserve RAM for the iGPU in BIOS. Also, you can reserve up to 16GB of RAM to the iGPU but that needs you to have at least 32GB of RAM. I can bet you that would have done a huge different since it is noticeable that only 1,9GB is used when playing. I have a Ryzen 7 Pro 4750G myself with 64GB of RAM and 16GB reserved for the iGPU, but I on the other hand don't play games. But there are many videos on youtube showing you what it looks like.
Turned out to be a pretty decent budget/starter PC, nice one.
The MSI B550M pro vdh wifi is actually a pretty god damn slick budget board tbh
Used it for a build recently because it offered a ridiculous amount of features I was looking for for stupid cheap
Haven't had any issues with it, didn't even have to fuck with bios update (luckily, heard from many users some came with old ass bios and had to update p.i.t.a. via usb stick)

case looks pretty similar to my lian-li one. Budget but you get a basement to help with cable management and a space behind the motherboard too. Good to see thats almost a baseline expectation these days

I use a similar system as my NAS. Using a B550 mobo, with a Ryzen 4750G APU. It was slightly more expensive (USD400 for the APU alone) but that was back 2 years ago when GPUs were unobtainium and so not having to buy even a low end overpriced card was a plus. I never tried gaming on it, but it rocks as a server.

I've been rocking a Thermaltake Smart 750 watt 80+ for about 3 years now with no issues, as for the mustard and ketchup cables I just went on Amazon and bought black extensions for the ones I actually needed and hid the rest.
Just built a budget build in the Maccube with non-modular PSU and did a masterful job of cable management! Lost of room in the base especially if you don't plan on putting a spinny drive in there.

Love the video! I almost spit out my lunch laughing hard at work when I heard your Canadian currency pronunciation. This pc from Amazon parts performs way better than most Amazon affordable “pre-builds”.
Those ThermalTake PSUs are great for retro rigs - they're cheap and more than good enough. The voltages aren't the best compared to more modern & high end PSUs but for €30-40 (mine even had RGB) they're pretty good. I bought three to go in various Socket 370 & Slot 1 PCs.
That's actually pretty solid for a base unit to start
When I use the stock AMD cooler, I always take the top off and rotate it 90degress so then I can mount it with the AMD logo at the top. If I could share a picture on here I would, but it looks way better in builds. Also, I know everyone rags on the AMD RX 6500XT, I picked an ASRock one up for $150 and paired it with a Ryzen 7 2700X and a X370 MB, yes that is PCIe Gen 3, and it hits 120+ fps in every game I have tested at 1080p. It was the perfect budget build.

I have the same motherboard. It's lacking a little on connectivity, but the debug LEDs and BIOS update function without CPU are great.

I love that now 3 channels have done $400 and below PC builds, it works out great for me because a friend of mine wants me to build him a PC and his max budget is $400. I parted a build out on pcpartpicker which is quite a bit different going with a cheaper AMD cpu (R3 3200G) and board (Msi B450-A Pro Max) but more expensive larger storage (1TB Crucial BX500 SSD) and a better case (Zalman S2). It came in at around $395 (excluding fans because I told him I have plenty of spare case fans when he needs them) but I told him he would still have to purchase atleast a Windows 11 key from one of those discount key websites.

Been using pretty close to this setup for minecraft servers I host, only difference is I'm using 32gb ram since it's modded minecraft, pretty capable and always solid performance
this video took me from being a casual viewer who subscribes, to being a fan who subscribes. great content.
Another thing about these iGPU's is that they have shared memory for VRAM, allowing the dedicated RAM to be used. However, there are ways in the BIOS, and other ways (check other YT videos) on how you can give it dedicated VRAM and increase it. I've got a Ryzen 7 5700u with a Vega 8 iGPU with 3GB VRAM.
The Igpu with battlefield 5 is the same performance I was getting with a i5 2400 and 1050ti back when battlefield 5 released. Crazy how far we have come in just a few years.
The Molex case fan seems to also have a more controllable (3-pin?) fan connector.

I at least expected you to try getting a moderate overclock on the IGPU, an additional 10% might have made the performance more acceptable.
Also, 16gb definitely a good idea on IGPU's, since they share ram. Because of that I also wonder how much better it would do with faster ram.
