This will be a VERY unpopular comment, but how can you score so highly when your horse is almost constantly behind the vertical? Surely that's a basic error? Why are the judges not penalizing it? And not just with this horse but with many other top-scoring combinations.

I've got to admit I liked her better in the Grand Prix Special. She was more tense today and too often behind the vertical. Jessica von Bredow-Werndl can do better than that. The overall presentation was better two days ago.
Of course her passage is as good as it gets, piaffe is amazing and her transitions are a goal, but I missed some harmony today.

Since when is constant tail swishing deserving of a championship? It is an indication of pain and or frustration. When are judges going to look at the scientific facts in peer reviewed published studies AND STOP GIVING TOP MARKS TO HORSES THAT ARE SUFFERING AND ARE UNHAPPY? SPORT NEEDS TO CHANGE IN ORDER TO SURVIVE PUBLIC AND SCIENTIFIC SCRUTINY.

The swishing of the tail doesn’t always mean pain, you realize that right? The horse has no signs of pain and she could be swishing her tail because it’s summer and there’s flies everywhere or she’s just swishing her tail, it doesn’t always mean pain

First time I've seen a video of them both, before just listening the news and titles they've won. Unfortunately, I can just share critical voices. Too compressed, hectical, not light, round and smooth. The same style as you can see here at poor countryside level competitions, just with more complex tasks. But far away from fine, light and gentle riding. It looks like hard work and you can see every little command. No role model for me.

Behind the vertical throughout nearly the entire test, goat on a hill piaffes, hollow back, flashy front legs but no hind engagement. Disgusting that this is what would win. We need a new discipline for true classical dressage without the FEI behind it where it won’t be this gross over tempo compression that wins. “Harmony”? What a joke. More like a death grip on the reins. DO BETTER FEI. UPHOLD THE ORIGINAL DRESSAGE RULES AND STOP LETTING RICH PEOPLE RIDE HOWEVER THEY WANT BY CHANGING RULES TO LET THEM COMPRESS THEIR HORSES

I thought that this was very pretty, but as I am not a dressage rider, I don’t have the knowledge to understand what is correct and what is a mistake. I ride hunters and show jumpers in the U.S., and I DO know that tail wringing/constant swishing is a sign of an uncomfortable/stressed/pained horse. I definitely picked up on that. But it’s very interesting to me to read through the comments, so I can gain a better understanding of dressage. I am a big believer in cross training my horses. I don’t want to take them out into the arena and jump courses every day. I like to have flat days, where I work them in very basic dressage moves…shoulder in, leg yield, half pass, travers, etc. Also counter canter, as that is a part of the equitation skills (equitation is basically jumping a hunter-style course of more natural looking jumps, but with more technical movements and more difficult lines of jumps. Hunters ALWAYS do straight line related distances- outside line, inside line, outside line, inside line. Equitation courses include rollbacks, bending lines, and counter canter. In the equitation the rider is judged on his/her riding ability, not how well the horse moves and jumps, as they do in the hunters. There are many more technical aspects to doing equitation). Lateral movements are actually extremely helpful for any jumping horse, but especially for equitation and show jumping. I also like to just hack my horses in the field, and sometimes jump some low level cross country jumps. We also have days we just take a walk only trail ride. I think the variety is good for both horse and rider mentality. I would like to learn more about real dressage, bc it looks so beautiful and effortless when done well (same thing in the hunters and equitation. It should look like the horse is happily doing everything him/herself, without visible aids from the rider). I had a Dutch warmblood who had a good dressage background put on him before he was imported to the US and trained to jump. I had SO much fun finding all of the different “buttons” my horse had. I actually managed to get him to do two stride Tempe changes, and a decent canter pirouette, in addition to the lateral work I mentioned before. I’d LOVE to have another knowledgeable dressage horse and take lessons in that as well. I personally think it’s fun to try many different disciplines of riding. I’ve taken polo lessons (obviously not on my giant Warmbloods!), and rodeo/gymkhana (again, not on my horses) . All of the barrel racing, pole bending, and other patterns. I even took vaulting lessons. I like to try as many disciplines as I can.

I also prefer Glamourdale to this horse. This horse is always lathered and very, very tense and nervous. The fact that the judges award this picture is disheartening. This is a great horse and it’s sad that she isn’t in Hester’s yard. She would go much better than this if so. She might be heading down the same sad rode as other talented dressage horses. Pushed too soon, too much. Mental stress as well as physical .
