You cant ban machine guns either
The ban is Unconstitutional. Take it to the SCOTUS.
Easy to make without a bump stock
3d printing Cant stop the signal.
The ATF should've been defunded and abolished decades ago.
Yes, along with getting the first half of the Second Amendment completely removed: who knows what they were thinking way back then -- it isn't like there are any records of their discussions and debates since they didn't have computers or even the Internet back then.
Why
@melodymatters good luck with government tyranny knocking on your door.
@@OhWel Because of people like you
Oh really, why is that?
Congress did not ban any particular rate of fire. Congress banned weapons that "fire automatically with a single function of the trigger'. That is the only issue SCOTUS needed to decide. Does a rifle, with this stock, "fire automatically with a single function of the trigger'. Since it obviously does no do so - the trigger must reset and be pulled back for each shot --the rule is attempting to insert ATF's definition into a statute where Congress has already provided the definition.
Imagine if we all collectively didn't vote incumbent. Things might actually get done correctly
A win for the Constitution, the American people and the right to freedom and self regulation.
The Hughes Amendment, which closed the machine gun registry, needs to be repealed.
And maybe that is the horse trade for Congress. Allow ATF to regulate bump stocks like machine guns, but open the registry again to new registrations.
@@kcgunesq I can’t speak for all gun owners, but that’s a trade that I personally would be willing to make.
The Dems/Left often talk of “compromise” but their concept of it is that they get some of what they want and the other side gets nothing. After which they’ll come back later for the whole thing.
If Dems want to ban bump stocks in return I want a permanent reopening of the machine gun registry, suppressers & short barreled rifles removed from the NFA, and the unfettered importation of semiautomatic sporting rifles, e.i. no 922r.
@@kcgunesq No trading. We take our rights back.
So it’s not a machine gun if it shoots like a machine gun. It’s just a Bump Stock.
FYI..Bump stocks don’t turn your firearm into a machine gun. These idiots don’t have a clue what they are talking about.
If recoil of firing a round causes you to fire the next round and the next round and the next round; THAT is automatic. Anything that makes a rifle automatic firing is a machine gun. "machine". No different than filing down the trigger stop. The supreme court is stupid.
Really? Tell us. The two weapons you claim are so dissimilar, how many lethal rounds per minute can each fire?
@@fritzbang4805 the trigger still needs to be pulled every time a round is fired even with a bump stock. Which by definition is a semi-automatic gun.

The ATF does not make laws.. I've never seen a political party that is 100% okay with an arm of the judicial doing the legislature's work.. roe versus Wade was done through the judicial branch and not the legislative and you saw how that turned out. If you want these drastic changes made then do it through Congress not through the court.
Change the Constitution.🤗🇺🇸🔵
@@robertward8035 better yet, follow the constitution
The ATF is a part of the Department of Justice, which is within the executive branch, like all federal agencies and departments, not the judicial branch.
Congress empowers, through legislation, the executive branch to create and enforce policies.
The ATF is not a part of the judicial branch of government. So much for that faulty analysis.
I support this .. the laws are made by congress not an agency.. this isnt just about the bump stock or stabilizing braces. Its about who is supposed to make these types of laws .. its not an agency's job
Do you really believe that the Republican controlled house will do anything about this
Rubbish. Happens with thousands of other policy issues so no reason why it can't happen with this. You also have to ask what is the effect of putting this in the hands of Congress and the answer is there will be less regulation because the GOP are funded by the NRA, not to mention their evil and insane system of giving ratings to potential House candidates.

"The legality of bump stocks in the United States came under question following the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, in which 60 people were killed and 869 people injured. The gunman was found to have fitted them to his weapons. Several states passed legislation restricting ownership of bump stocks following this shooting. In December 2018, the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) published a rule that bump stocks constituted "machine guns", and thus were effectively illegal under federal law." So another words, the ATF overstepped and created a law that they cannot do under the Constitution. Therefore the ATF acted illegally to suppress a civil right. And they also got their pistol brace ban struck down yesterday too, for the same reason.

So let’s all stop pretending that this is anything but a big mistake which will eventually come back to bite responsible gun owners either through legislative restrictions or state excise taxes.
Ooh ooh do SBR's next! 🙋🏾♀️
I completely disagree. Arguing that ATF can't technically define what bump stocks do to a gun, is like saying the FDA can't technically define outcomes of drug trials. Your logic is flawed.
The ATF was trying to "define" it into something it wasn't. Congress defined what a machine gun is/isn't, and the ATF is bound to that. The ATF tried to force bump stocks into a definition they didn't fit by saying the bump stocks allow multiple bullets to be fired by a single pull of the trigger, however the entire design principle of the bump stock relies upon multiple trigger pulls (with a single bullet per pull).
The ATF does not have the authority to "define" things contrary to how Congress defines them. To say otherwise is a bit like saying the FDA can define an iPhone as drug and start regulating those, despite what laws passed by Congress say.
Your logic is flawed.
Its annoying listening to people who have zero knowledge of firearms and firearm laws discuss firearm related topics
You think those folks who got attacked in Vegas care about the technical difference between a bump stock semi auto and a machine gun?

So SCOTUS want congress to regulate more - if they want too - and yet SCOTUS has a big case in front of it about whether or not government agencies established by congress have the right to regulate. Trump plays “Delay” and SCOTUS plays “Pass-the-Buck”.
You don’t understand the unelected bureaucracy in this country. The ATF has consistently legislated from their unelected position. The idea that they should have the right to LEGISLATE, which they do constantly, without being elected is wild. bump stocks do not fall into the definition of machine gun, which is what this court ruled. Anyone who knows how guns work know they do not fall under that definition. By banning them anyway, they legislated without congress. That’s a problem
The Legislative Branch passes laws, not the 3 letter government agencies. Civics 101
@@Billyjoe78517So what is your answer to the right of school children to sit in a classroom with their life and liberty intact? When the second amendment was written in 1791 a gun could only fire one bullet. Common sense is not so common.
@@cindyschneider4728 False: in 1791, they had things that could shoot more than one bullet. The Puckle gun is a pretty famous example. They also had cannons, that our early government had to borrow from civilians on a few occasions....
Meanwhile, in the 1950s, kids were bringing their shotguns to school so they could go hunting after class. School shootings didn't seem to be a problem, and their life and liberty remained in tact.
Common sense would indicate it's not a gun problem, it's a violence problem. "Gun violence" isn't some sort of separate and unique phenomenon, it's just violence that happens to include a gun. By focusing on the gun, you guarantee violence will remain. And after all, the worst school attack in US history wasn't a shooting...
@@cindyschneider4728 me and you are literally not arguing about the same thing at this point. I’m arguing that what the atf has been doing for the entirety of its existence is unconstitutional. Also, the idea that the founders didn’t understand that technology evolves is silly. If we want to use your argument, free speech shouldn’t apply to the internet, it should only apply to newspapers, letters, and the town square.
