I believe that every single voter should have a vote that matters when it comes to the election for the president
That's why you should eliminate the electoral college, or rather we should
Right now there is a Republican voter in California who is going to cast a vote in November that is going to be effectively meaningless because there's no chance of California going Republican
Conversely, right now there is a Democrat voter in Montana who is going to cast a vote in November that is going to be effectively meaningless because there is no chance of Montana going Democrat
Both of those voters should have votes that actually matter and actually count
If we have an election without the electoral college that means every single vote from every single state gets counted equally
There are times when we are 50 states, and the individual states should have more say in things like California having more say in economic issues because it's basically 20% of our GDP
But there are other times when we are one nation. When we are one nation every citizen whether they live in California Montana or Puerto Rico is entitled to have one vote that counts equally to every other
That's the way it should be

Takes too long to get that many responses. It's not contacting 500 people. It's getting 500 voters to take the time to answer poll questions. So they probably do make 5000 calls to get 500 answers. That's why polls typically take 3+ days and then several more to publish after they process the data. To get a larger sample size would be useless because the information would be outdated by the time it was published. Circumstances change day to day let alone week to week.

Yes, but I think it was an over-simplification to emphasize that this is not a good way of thinking about polls. A better way of saying it would be, given how volatile the results can be, they're close enough that you should be thinking of it as a tie. Excluding third parties, an increase of one means an equal decrease in the other, so it may be helpful to think of the lead being more like half of what she currently has.

Odd that you say that Trump is anti democracy when its "liberals" who have been fighting to censor speech, take away the 2nd amendment, ban the filibuster, eradicate the electoral college (a system which protects minority rights, by the way), flood the country with illegals against the will of the people, prohibit the free movement of vehicles based on their "carbon footprint", raise taxes to make things unaffordable, perpetuate tyrannical wars......I could go on and on.
