Love the car but this is not off roading. This RR couldn't even make it over the park trails that we drive over to the off-road trails that a Jeep can do with lockers. But keeping it in perspective, this is just a SUV for a rich family and a very nice one!

What people seem to not get is the target audience for this type of vehicle doesnt care how much it cost, they just want to get in it and have everything be perfect and they have their assistant write the check. Having parked my Mustang on the beach at a high school graduation party, cleaning it afterwards is not an easy task, but owners of the Cullinan have staff on duty 24/7, sans souci.
Wow, off road driving that almost got the wheels wet, amazing. What a tough test for a $450,000 4X4. No hill climb or decent, no sand dunes, no ice and snow, no rocks, no beach. It’s like wearing your slippers when you put the bins out.
I wished you had reviewed the vehicle rather than drive and have a rolls Royce agent sell us the car. I understand why but just wished it didn't happen

The ride quality of a Rolls-Royce is praised to the heavens. I was surprised to see the amount of side to side body movement of the driver and co-driver, on bad patches. I don't know how it feels from inside, but it was clear from the video that it was stirring the occupents on really bad terrain.
it might be because of the off-road mode. But I haven't tried it myself either. My Porsche in off-road mode gets a little stiffer for less suspension travel. But if your going to offroad, get something else lol.

Question : curious as to cost of Press Cars, manufacturers can grab a few off the assembly line, trailer them to events and later sell them at dealerships ( which is why you’ll see a new 2mo old car with thousands of miles ) at a discount.

Tim Fox idk about rolls Royce, but with Subaru in the states, the press cars are crushed after... they are pre-production models that cannot be sold for insurance reasons.
Couldn’t find an article about Subaru, found article about shops in Detroit making prototypes for press vehicles which are crushed.
Found an article on Jalopnik going over pros & cons from manufacturers point of view with cars being sold wholesale at auction
@@timfox2344 I haven't seen any publications on it either, so I can't truly back up the claim. I work for Subaru on the dealer lever, and that is what I have heard from my distribution reps.

the one article was saying how shops in Detroit, will be given models to be tweaked before given to press fleets on pre-production models. They’ll add noise dampening mats, windows, faster computer interfaces, more seat bolstering etc to make the cars better ... which explains the “hope it makes it into production” disclaimers by Car Reviewers
The Jalopnik article was interesting because they mentioned reviewers curbing rims & stealing gas from the press fleet cars, take with a grain of salt, being a norm that manufacturers take into account.

What Rolls wont tell you is , after a couple of well known motor journalists started goofing around with used Phantoms , they saw the market and developed this , using the Phantom as their test mule , no one was looking at the Phantom as they modded the Phantom into the mechanicals of the Cullinan , then they sent one well known journalist in a Phantom to do a long African roadtrip to test for entertainent ( and data) and to prove the donor car to be upto what they were making . A Phantom is surprisingly good offroad and it was never intended to be , so now you can buy your AWD Phantom Shooting Brake er... Cullinan !
That tire choice is absurd for offroad use. But so is fitting it with a set of KO2's on 19 inch rims and expecting it to tackle Gold Mine Hill. Might as well add the fender flares and wheel spacers at that point LOL
If I want a luxury off road car, I'd always choose a Range Rover.
