Suddenly finding out that your mom has stage 4 cancer is sudden and terrible. Thank you for sharing your story. Your mom will always be in your heart and the memories will live on. My dad always said that people die only when they are forgotten - every time you remember something she said or did, she comes to life in your heart and in your mind - so even though she is no longer here physically, she will continue to live in your home and in your hearts. He fought it for 12 years until he lost the battle, when I was 20. Then in June 2018, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. It's been a very up and down battle, and she's still on the fight of beating it, but it's spread to her liver and lungs now. "Faking it until you're making it" of smiles has been our lives pretty much forever. Hugs to you, it's understandable why you have been gone, take your time to get fully back to yourself. It may be years, or even never, until you feel fully like your old self, but that's okay 💚.
