- In this video I take a look at ways which would possibly allow us to colonize our galaxy.

Imagine a colony on a planet thats 1000 light years away from us and looking at earth with a super powerful telescope. They would see earth in year 1020, they could take pictures and even videos of that era and send them to us so we could see real pictures and footage from the past lol how insane would this be
Could very well be possible. If we somehow managed to travel faster than the speed of light, we could go to certain distances so we could see the earth in the past with a very powerful telescope. And depending on how fast we can travel, the farther away we can look back to history quicker.
@@degenetron7590you cant really do that and we cant travel faster than the speed of light
I feel like by the time we are capable of reaching a planet 1,000 light years away, we'd already see Earth in an era after the invention of photography. Maybe if we went farther though.
His english nowadays is so much better than in his old videos...big props to Dreksler for being more articulate in these videos. Shame his sub count isn't escalating too much.
Does anyone knows his ethnicity?
@@theMark5445 Has to be European, most likely northern Europe. I'd guess he's from Sweden or Finland (could be Germany as well based on the name)
@@theMark5445 Nvm just watched an old video of his and he has a slight Russian accent
@@theMark5445 your contain is clickbait

The god of the cosmos is back!
You mean Satan? I don't think soo.
Nameless Guy maybe you can’t read

Aperture, john Michael godier and Dreskler are like the best cosmos channels

The most sad thing about this is that none of us would be alive when we travel among the milky way...
@Ping Pong even if we do that there's no way someone alive today will se this things happening we are still to far from colonizing the milky way, we haven't even been to our closest planets, the best we can hope is to see humans on Mars and the moon again and maybe if we are lucky humans on Titan and other moons of the solar system
Unless we invent immortality in the future
I've always enjoyed your videos! I've learned much more than my 4 years in high school.
One of the most underrated channels
Excellent video !
It’s been a long time dark astral welcome back and stay safe stay healthy and keep up the good work
*E*
I have been subscribed to him for 2 years, i still love his videos
he's finally back!
I always get excited when he posts a new vid
I love you fellow humans, it is our curiosity that brought us to this point in time where we can legitimately plan to colonize our great universe. I hope you all have a good day and take a hit every time he says probe 😉
heh, so the king is back...you should make a video about living in venus atmosphere.
thanks mr. astral for being the only youtuber to make space videos that don't suck
I’ve been supporting this channel for 4 years now - back when his subscriber count was below 10K. What I’ve always liked about this channel is that Dreksler doesn’t do what Americans do and constantly compare things to US-made things (example: this hill is as tall as the empire state building), something which *really* annoys me and wish would stop already. Instead Dreksler compares sizes to country diameters, so non-Americans can understand the video much better. It’s so much more helpful than you think
Woww! So amazing to have you again with great piece of knowledge!
I wish I could talk to you! ❤
You never fail to win our hearts! ❤
Your English has improved so much!
Thank you for your channel, I hope more people will discover and enjoy it!
Please never stop making videos
Long time! please upload often
He has to get all the research he can, and that lasts MONTHS to get all the research he can. So, respect his hard work.
Very interesting! Glad that you are back.
I’m glad to see you finally back!!!
Love all your videos man, keep it coming.
These kind of videos are a stoner's treasure findings!
Thanks for the entertainment during this pandemic. (I’m sure we all wanted to hibernate through this pandemic.) Keep up the good videos.
i'm gonna put some of your videos in a time capsule. They'll be awed when the play them thousands of years from now..... Love your posts!
Great video as always. And I like the longer ones more. Keep going

This is really cool!
Welcome back 🔥🔥🔥
Welcome back bud
This is a really imaginative channel, besides being scientifically interesting. Congrats.
I love your videos
Its great that your back 🤗
Really thanks for the video.
"Born too late to explore earth and too early to explore the galaxy" is an amazing quote/meme, we are the middle child of history to be honest, we don't get to do anything cool, by the time we send a probe to proxima centauri, we'll be in our 60's and who knows when we'll land there, where basically the stepping stones to our children, i hope if reincarnation is real, we can get to explore other stars in our lifetime.
The lust for war will always be there.
The Expanse series sums up human nature in space pretty well.
Bhagwati Pant that would be cool but also not that cool...
we should probably implement a device in our brain that stops us from reacting violently. id rather be a cyborg that is peaceful than be a man who lets his emotions control him. and we cant all grow spiritually and control ourselves, there will simply always be evil in our world, so the evil ones would have to obey the rules.
Legend of The Galactic Heroes
Born too late to explore the world, born too early to explore the universe
Ikr, sometimes I wish I'd live for at least 5,000 more years , lol
You sound more manly now :D keep up the good work, missed your videos!
When you are early but don't know what to comment
well most people do shitty unoriginal unfunny jokes

Welcome back!!!!
i really liked the idea of colonizing space with probes
Thanks for the video!! :)

The Eert guy is back finally
Your back man finally are you going to talk about planets orbiting a pulsar
Thanks for an interesting video. But what if what you’re suggesting is done to earth?
What Dreksler is talking about is thousands of years beyond our present technology. So, maybe someday, but not now. But we will need to start colonizing other worlds within the next hundred years or so. We will need to start right here in our own solar system.
That thumbnail With the probes gave me total UC Timeline vibes with the space colonies I love it
And yeah I wish this would one day be possible to go far past are solar system and even past the Milky Way well at least see it in my time that is
ay my man uploaded again
The underrated goat
UR VIDS R SO INTERESTING
It was a long wait, but it's worth it for the god-tier astronomy.
Please keep up the good work! Love from India :D
dang what a video
In the future, a world like the ones in anime could eventually come true, or any dream landscape you dream of, they're might even be a planet-hub where you search for planets of your liking to live at. xD
Avatar did such a good job showing this kind of thing
Ur videos are so calming 😋😋
Watching from Brazil! =)
Good video! I have to watch again better understand some parts.
I really want Breakthrough Starshot to happen
I have a huge feeling there is a milky way colony out there where multiple races live together. We are so left behind
There 💯 is
It's also amazing but also frightening at the same time what we will be able to do in the future
YES. NEW VIDEO WOOOOOO
By the time we start doing interstellar space travel with human crews, humans will become immortal by then
Yeah at the rate we are developing and becoming more advanced, i wouldnt be surprised if humans find the key to immortality by the end of this century even maybe
Not completely Immortal, but viruses, diseases, cancer, etc, none of that stuff will be able to kill us.
What if in the future you could upload your mind/consciousness to a computer? I would want to upload my mind to a spacecraft so that I could see the universe.
It's been a while my friend.
I hate that I was born in era where space travel is just getting started I can imagine if I was born 1000-2000 years later we would probably have humans on Alpha Centauri and Andromeda or something else so amazing we can’t comprehend right now ... another thing how would we look like in those periods of time I have so many questions ...
Ur back WOW!
Unfortunately we expend our resources fighting each other.
Why not put embryos on the probes. Also, if you can propel them really quickly, time will pass slower on the ships.
Omg I would like to apologize for not subscribing sooner. Sub'd
*grox has joined the game*
This take loonnnnnnnnng time
thanks nice video...
First we need to evolve psychologically.
We miss you man
Makes me want to rewatch Outlaw Star.
This scenario is simply and realistic. În fact, why we should hurry? Îs there any SF movie with these idea?
BTW, briliant channel
I don't think sending probes to terraform random planets is a good idea, or else we could risk accidentally destroying an already inhabited planet? That wouldn't be a good idea.
Watching space videos I forget my problems being reminded that I am just like a nothing compared to the vast universe..... It's calming 😍
how are we ever going to colonize the galaxy when we are constantly at each others throats here on earth...peace out
after watching Stargate i dont find the idea of replicators a good one :D
All in all everything will be nearly impossible to reach since the universe is unbelievable big. There's no word for it.
